The Uncertain is a story-driven adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world. Humanity disappeared from the face of the Earth and has been replaced by robots. Together with Emily, one of the survivors, you will have to witness how people try to live in a world ruled by robots.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.33/day in the week to Aug 4 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
Such a future will soon be ours.
Once again, I am surprised at how high-quality a game turns out to be from an indie developer, rather than a AAA company.
The story.
This is the second part of the series. Here we will play as a girl named Emily, surviving in a post-apocalyptic world controlled by robots. With a group of friends, they devise a plan to escape the city to find a peaceful, quiet life in the wilderness. Will these old people and even a newborn baby be able to remain undetected?
Gameplay.
I want to say right away that in some places the action moves very slowly. But I really enjoyed it and savored the atmosphere, wandering through the locations looking for details. The puzzles here are really cool, moderately difficult and if you don't like them, you can just skip any. Plus, a bunch of hidden toys add mini-games to our tablet. By completing them we earn an achievement.
Visuals.
And here I was really shocked. The locations are so detailed, the textures are incredibly high-quality and the attention to detail is huge. And yet, the game doesn't lag at all. That's what I call top-notch optimization.
Final verdict.
I really liked the game. Yes, many people complain that the faces aren't realistic enough, but if you don't count that detail, the game becomes truly worthwhile. For $0.50, we get a short adventure that will evoke a ton of emotions, both joyful and touching. It's a shame the studio disbanded. We really hope that one day we'll see a continuation of this story.
Same as the 1st game, it's hard to say it's a good game, but i liked it. The story is good and they did a good job with the settings of the universe, now we need the rest of it, with a more profound and complete story. The whole game lacks polish and quality of life but it is stil playable. I hope The Uncertain 3 will come out and be more ambitious than 1 and 2.
Yes more than no. The storyline, character development, etc... is really good, but everything is too scripted for my personal tastes. Too much reliance on QTE events, and you don't really have much personal agency over the character.
I'm willing to give Light at the End a thumbs up, but ultimately this is an unsatisfying game. When combined with Last Quiet Day, The Uncertain series lacks a meaningful story or a central character. ComonGames/New Game Order created an ambitious premise and setting, but neither game has enough substance to establish a strong hook.
Robos
Light at the End is an urban survival story that is fully generic and could be mistaken for a zombie post-apocalyptic setting. Not nearly enough is done to emphasize that the humans are pitted against perceptive, intelligent, aware electro-mechanical entities that are able to effectively observe, think, plan, communicate and coordinate. Instead, the robots are presented as mindless creatures that can be distracted by noises, just like a zombie. There's no sense that the robots have any goals, objectives, or daily activities other than wandering around to find the last dozen-or-so humans still creeping around in the city. Our survivors freely walk around abandoned city blocks, avoiding the rare robot encounter by throwing a tin can to distract it. It's a good thing this city, ruled by artificial intelligence robots, is completely camera-less. It doesn't have any persistent surveillance with continuous 'ai' powered detection and analysis, ala real-world "Flock" systems. Don't you love seeing plot contrivances that exist to make things much easier for the writers?
Humans
The survivors made up for many of the game's shortcomings for me. I liked all of the characters, even Matthew and Alex. Yeah, they're rude as hell but never act out of malice or betray the group, so I found them entertaining. The dialogue kept me interested and the English voice acting was great for all characters. My favorite thing about the game was the actress for Emily. She has a pleasant delivery that cemented my sympathy for her struggle. Her performance is emotionally resonant, not subdued or inert. And surprising for a young woman of this current era, she kept her voice mostly clean and clear. There were some unfortunate moments where she'd make her voice ugly through vocal fry, but it was minimal.
“To be continued.....?”
The ending makes it sounds like ComonGames/New Game Order has committed to dual protagonists for the future of the franchise: Emily Hales as the human protagonist and RT-217NP as the robot protagonist. Who knows, maybe the third game will finally release in 2028, surprising us with the cat from Stray (2022) as protagonist. It was the same universe, all along! After finishing the game, I looked back at my screenshots from The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day and was reminded...
both games end on the same event.
Last Quiet Day even said, "To Be Continued." So in a franchise that was introduced with a brief, but enjoyable, game about robots, ComonGames/New Game Order decided not to make a full game that captures the ambition of humanity defeating the robots to restore our rightful dominion over Earth. Rather, they made another very short game, a frikkin paraquel, that fails to fulfil the promise of continuing the story we saw in Last Quiet Day. A baffling decision, both creatively and for the health of their video games development business. In one month, it will have been a full decade without the continuation promised in Last Quiet Day, and we're already half a decade past Emily's bold statement that, "This isn't the end of the story." < insert GIF of the guy saying, “You sure about that?!” >
Zafascynowany częścią pierwszą (Last Quiet Day) zakupiłem tę grę w ciemno i niestety jestem rozczarowany.
