Say anything - the robots understand. Enter an atmospheric sci-fi adventure on a tropical Pacific island, where robots have personalities and emotions. Talk to them in your own words, command them to manipulate the 3D world, and hunt a spy. No dialogue trees. No prewritten choices. Just your words.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About

The Bot Colony concept was unveiled at GDC in March 2009, and the game was released to Early Access in 2014, ahead of its time; the tech just wasn’t ready for the vision we had. We never stopped chasing it. Now, in 2026, Bot Colony _Redux finally delivers on the dream: a futuristic sci-fi narrative you play using unrestricted speech, talking to nuanced characters who respond with intelligence, humour, and emotion. This game has something for fans of many genres, and gives players the freedom to shape the story with their own words - every playthrough is unique! This isn’t “press X to select an answer.” This is actual conversation with no limits on what you can say as you play.
We’ve integrated cutting-edge AI and voice tech (Azure STT, ChatGPT, Elevenlabs’ emotive TTS) into North Side's state-of-the-art natural language understanding (NLU) to create next-level immersion.
You receive an initial allocation of LEKS to help you experience open-ended conversations with the characters. Generating unique responses to whatever you say uses cloud resources. Once you use your initial free allocation, you can purchase additional LEKS through Steam’s standard checkout to continue playing.

You’ve just been hired by Nakagawa Corp, a huge Japanese robotics company, for an unusual gig: track down a spy who infiltrated their R&D facility on Agrihan Island. Every episode in Bot Colony _Redux is a chapter in the story arc, and each one has its own unique setting, characters, and gameplay to master.
EPISODE I: INTRUDER
There's trouble brewing in this high-tech paradise: Top-secret prototypes have gone missing, and Nakagawa’s competitors would love to get their hands on them. Before you get hired to begin the search on Agrihan, the security chief puts you through two hiring tests: prove you're able to control a robot with your words, and that you know how to get to the robot's repressed video memories. If you succeed, your ticket to Agrihan is waiting for you.

EPISODE II: ARRIVAL

As soon as you land on Agrihan, you can feel something’s off. The robots running the airport have been patched with Update 237, which reprograms them to "Do As People Do”. As the bots become distracted by their new goal to emulate human behaviour, a crisis unfolds before your eyes. Your personal assistant Miki-05 will be on hand to help you navigate the twists and turns as you face anti-robot terrorism firsthand.

EPISODE III: RIOT

Fly a Hunter Bot to an oil rig where chaos has erupted. The robots staged a mutiny, and the rig’s human staff bailed out! Emulating humans, the bots become political, splitting into opposing factions: communists, capitalists, and eco-defenders. To survive, you must resonate with their ideology. Later you’ll face the “Humanity Test” - a twist on Blade Runner’s Voigt-Kampff test. Here, you must prove your humanity to robots to make it out alive!

We built Agrihan Island in Unreal Engine 5 for rich visuals, atmosphere, and detail you can get lost in, infused with an original soundtrack that adds to the island’s tense, futuristic vibe. During your adventure across Agrihan, you'll meet dozens of unique robots, each one designed for a specific role, from domestic bots to hunters - with gestures, expressions, and voices that illustrate their new goal: to emulate people!
