The Swapper

Yeah, I've played this for over 2 hours and didn't have too much trouble solving the puzzles. At one time the required "orbs" I should have was 15 and I had like 20. But ultimately I ended up getting extremely fed up of the constant puzzling at every screen and all looking way too similar. You mainly play with placing your guys in certain triggers that activate/deactivate different lights and open doors until you're clear to grab one of the orbs yourself. Game looks nice and must be a great game if you're a casual player and like repetitive puzzles. Not a bad game so I won't give a thumbs down just obviously not for me so I can't recommend.

Short, but very good puzzle platformer. The main mechanism involves creating clones who move in parallel with you and swapping which one is the "main character". Puzzles are varied and involve logic, some timing, and positioning. Fast travel lets you move around easily and the map clearly indicates when a puzzle room hasn't been solved, so you can painlessly return to unfinished puzzles. The game also has a story focused on consciousness, but I found the puzzles to be the main appeal. This is an easy recommend for puzzle fans.

After sitting in my Steam Library for so long I finally got around to completing The Swapper, and it was most definitely worth it. The atmosphere is phenomenal, the soundtrack is excellent, and the puzzles are reasonably complex. If you are like me and don't usually play puzzle games you may need to take breaks or even use a guide for some, but overall they are decently challenging and fair. This is without even mentioning the story, which was fantastic in its own right and incredibly thought provoking. My only issue was the early logs (I believe 1, 2, and 3) were all locked to the beginning area, so I could not get them after leaving the location in order to 100% the game. Other than minor inconveniences though I would highly recommend playing The Swapper as the enjoyment from the experience far outweighs any negatives.

Really enjoyed this game. Challenging, great atmosphere and amazing narrative. You know it's good when the ending got you researching the web to get some more facts clear and understand the narrative a bit better.

It's a great puzzle game. The challenges are rewarding and it's got a really nice atmosphere. The Swapper aesthetic has a lot of charm and it has quite a unique art style for sci-fi space oriented game, which isn't easy to achieve when there's a crowded field. It's great too look back at these games that are going on to be ~10 years and seeing how well they hold up. It's as good as the first day it was released.
