We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

About
The Sinking City 2 is a third-person survival horror set in 1920s Arkham. Deliberate, tense, and resource-lean: pressure builds as you push deeper, relief comes in brief refuge, and fear is something you manage. Mind your inventory, take on unnerving puzzles, and double back via unlocked shortcuts for supplies and upgrades.
A Roaring ’20s port city buckling under a supernatural flood. Tide-stained avenues and battered Art Deco. Speakeasies gone dark. Districts feel lived-in and water-worn, with routes by foot and skiff, shortcuts behind collapsed seawalls, and secrets tucked in boarded parlors. You’ll navigate a hospital where science hides its face, a fish market where the merchandise bites back, and descend deep below the city to where eldritch horrors stir.
A ritual gone wrong trapped her soul in the Dreamlands, and now malevolent forces have stolen her body. To rescue the woman you love, you must walk a dangerous path through catastrophe to the source of the flood — her presence always felt, but rarely seen.
The Slither animate the dead. Deep Ones surge from dark water. Shadows bend space and test nerves. Some fights must be met head-on; others demand a retreat to rearm, retune your build, and return better prepared. Or take on an optional investigation and come back with an upgraded gun.
Exploration is the key to survival. Read ritual residues, sift through grisly clues, decode journals that shouldn’t exist, and pry at masks that won’t come off. Optional cases never gate progress — but they unlock safer routes, hard supplies, and upgrades that change how you endure the next encounter.
The Sinking City 2 draws on Frogwares’ detective roots to deliver survival horror that runs deep and hits hard. Shaped by studio obsession and community feedback, it’s a faithful Lovecraft experience: myths made manifest, and the inconceivable fear that results.

I really enjoyed the first game, this one, however, is a complete departure from the exploration and investigation aspects that made The Sinking City great. The developer has made a Resident Evil game instead. The horror is more based on grotesque creatures, rather than strange and disturbing happenings. It took me just under 10 hours to complete a playthrough, whereas the first game was much longer. I had a good to okay time, however i cannot recommend the game at its current price of 50 €. Buy on a steep discount.
The game doesn’t really bring any of the positives from the first game over. It does improve on level design and combat. But that’s not really great if you put it up against established franchises. Really the combat is more frustrating than fun most of the time. Oh and the story...far from anything lovecraftian. The writing is terrible and the main characters unlikeable. You could make a drinking game out of the number of times you hear someone say "baby". I would say there are better games in the survival horror genre to put your time into. This is definitely not it. Update: I'm seeing that some players are being banned from TSC2 social media platforms for being critical of the game. Apparently the studio founder came out and said that they don't care what the players think about or want from the game. That they make the games for themselves and not for the players. Interesting as I believe this game was on kickstarter asking for money from the players to fund it's development, and it's listed here with a price tag for the players. Just thought people should know before they make a purchase.

The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Not like Sinking city 1 at all, but honestly that's fine. The first one was, in my opinion, just ok. The combat was bad, the detective portions were not very thought provoking, but the story was good and the city was pretty cool (though the more you were forced to run back and forth, the less cool it got and just became tedious). Sinking city 2 is very different game, its basically an RE game, but honestly I enjoyed it more. Combat, while not on par with other third person games, was much more enjoyable and the puzzles/detective work fit the new style of game with each level kind of being a puzzle on its own. My primary complaint would definitely be the inventory, the grid based system paired with the smaller levels really doesn't have me making in choices in what to carry and what to leave behind. Most of the time is just padding time cause I have to run back and collect anything I couldn't pick up before. Overall, a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 based on how into the story you get.

The Sinking City 2 successfully channels classic survival horror, blending investigative mystery with tense exploration, combat, and an engaging story. The puzzles are particularly fun and well-integrated. While the runtime is on the shorter side, it delivers a polished experience through smooth gameplay and diverse locations.

I really, really wanted to love this game. Survival horror, puzzles, lovecraftian setting, ingredients for an amazing recipe that ultimately ends up a tiny bit undercooked. But still tasty. So let's start with the positives, because I do actually want to convince you to get this game, but also help what you're getting yourself into. The atmosphere and graphics looks awesome. It runs surprisingly well despite being built in UE 5. I don't think I ever felt like "yeah this is a video game level" when going through the locations (with a few exceptions like red barrels), it all felt very natural to go through. I saw some say "corridor simulator", I'm not sure we played the same game as there are multiple times paths interconnect, shortcuts to unlock for later backtracking, etc. The Hospital was my favorite level in this. As for gameplay, you will find it very close to Resident Evil and it's what caught my attention to buy this in the first place. It's a departure from the first game that was more exploration and deduction heavy, to survivial horror and a new story/location so you don't have to play the first one to enjoy this. Though I can imagine fans of the first game might not be as thrilled with the changes. It still has some deduction parts to it and puzzles which I found satisfying to solve. The gunplay isn't anything amazing but I thought it was fun, if not serviceable. The story had me captivated until the end. You follow Calvin who's on a mission to save his significant other's soul that got seperated from her body after a ritual they did went wrong. He goes through great lengths to fix things, and the story did not end the way I thought it would. The cutscenes and voice acting is also really good, it definitely elevated the experience. Now to my main gripe of this game. The enemy and ammo economy. I played through the whole game on the next hardest difficulty. Combat isn't hard but some enemies take a lot of bullets to kill and weakpoints can take too long to appear on normal enemies. Even when not missing my shots, I was often very resource drained that I ended up skipping/trying to run past enemies because it simply wasn't worth it. I get it, it's a survival horror, you're not supposed to feel safe or overpowered. But there's usually a nice balance of gain and drain that I feel simply isn't here. Multiple times I went off to explore optional safes or areas to get more resources but that usually ended up in punishment, more enemies would spawn than the loot was worth. Enemies that were seen as dead when you first explore are scripted to get up when you return. You can't pre shoot them. And when you try to run to a better spot to shoot, you might sometimes run into another script of enemies getting up, boom now you're overwhelmed. So yeah, don't make my mistake, swallow your pride and play at a lower difficulty. There's no achievement tied to it and you'll have a way better time.
