About
The Outer Worlds 2 is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment (just look at the exciting number of dashes in this sentence!). Time to clear your calendar – get ready for an action-packed adventure with a new crew, new weapons, and new enemies in a new colony! So much newness!
As a daring and most likely good-looking Earth Directorate agent, you must uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening to destroy all of humanity. Your investigation leads to Arcadia, home of skip drive technology, where the fate of the colony, and ultimately the entire galaxy, rests on your decisions—your strengths, your flaws, your crew, and the factions you choose to trust.
The Arcadia colony is engulfed in a factional war, as the Protectorate’s so-called benevolent rule is challenged by the rebellion of their religious order and a corporate invasion. As destructive rifts spread across the colony, each faction fights to control or close them for their own ends. Navigate diverse zones, uncover hidden lore, and shape the fate of a system on the brink!
Build your character with the abilities and choices that reflect your playstyle. The colony reacts to your every move, crafting a narrative that’s yours to own—whether you’re a disciple of diplomacy, an astute strategist, a crusader for chaos, or something different altogether. And yes, you can dumb!
Recruit companions with unique traits, backgrounds and goals. Whether you choose to help them achieve their ambitions or steer them toward your own objectives, your influence shapes their growth (or death), making them an integral part of the immersive story you create together.

Extremely boring. I know that the factions are satire, but the dialogue is too over the top and not funny. Writing is terrible, story is boring and this game is not an open world.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Similar to the first Outer Worlds game, this one generally seems to me like an inferior Fallout 4. I thought maybe the sequel would have improved from the first game, but oh well. Also, the tone/theme of the game is just irritating to me after a while. I know the series schtick is basically "oh look how wacky and self-aware we are", but after a while I was sick of every character being like a cast member from a slightly darker version of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. It's like the trope of someone who uses "being weird" as a substitute for having an actual personality. In the end no character, quest, faction, etc in the game has left a lasting impression. For all its superficial design, the game seems soulless to me.
Not a great story compared to the others they have done, Outer Worlds, and Avowed. Typical Obisidian playstyle (open area with main quest, and side quests, main quest leads to another open area etc) It starts to drag out out towards the end, and I started to rush through it just to say I finished it. Weapons aren't great, ended up sticking with 2 of them for most of the game, barely used any of the abilities they gave me. I would say for $10-$15 USD it's not a bad pick-up. You'll know before the first couple hours are up if you want to keep playing it. Really wish there was a "maybe," recommend button.

This review summarizes my thoughts exactly: https://steamcommunity.com/id/FGREAPER/recommended/1449110 Need to say no more. I'm not finishing this game.
Amazing game. I disagree with the criticism that The Outer Worlds 2 is worse than the first game. In many ways, I believe this is a much better one. I am nearly finished and have had a blast throughout. The story is fantastic and the factions are handled very well. The addition of a radio was a great choice, which I particularly appreciated when travelling between worlds for the first time with no fast travel points unlocked. My limited criticisms are as follows: the Protectorate is not a joinable faction, and there is very little side quests relating to Spacer's Choice (only one or two small side quests). Personally, i would have liked to have seen a questline where Spacer's Choice could succeed over Auntie's Choice. Additionally, PC performance can take a noticeable dip. Although my specs aren't the best (CPU- AMD Ryzen 5 7500F and 5070 TI GPU), I struggled to maintain a consistent performance at maxed settings (1440p) even with DLSS Performance Mode enabled. Certain areas are particularly bad for this, especially the Undisputed Claim. Finally, some of the companion storylines aren't well executed. I will not go into specifics but some seem rushed but I really liked 3/6 of them. Honestly, I think what hurt this game at launch was the initial decision (that was changed prior to launch) to price it at $80 for the standard edition. People associated The Outer Worlds 2 with everything that feels wrong with the industry right now, and the fear that gaming is becoming far too expensive. It's a real shame, as there are currently no plans for a third instalment (most likely due to its poor commercial performance). Overall, my criticisms, performance issues aside, are minor compared to what is an otherwise fantastic game.

Von einem Spiel, das so viel Geld kostet erwarte ich, dass ich es auch spielen kann und dass es nicht nach einem Patch aufhört zu funktionieren. From a game that costs so much money, I expect to be able to play it and for it not to stop working after a patch.
