About
The Outer Worlds 2 is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment (just look at the exciting number of dashes in this sentence!). Time to clear your calendar – get ready for an action-packed adventure with a new crew, new weapons, and new enemies in a new colony! So much newness!
As a daring and most likely good-looking Earth Directorate agent, you must uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening to destroy all of humanity. Your investigation leads to Arcadia, home of skip drive technology, where the fate of the colony, and ultimately the entire galaxy, rests on your decisions—your strengths, your flaws, your crew, and the factions you choose to trust.
The Arcadia colony is engulfed in a factional war, as the Protectorate’s so-called benevolent rule is challenged by the rebellion of their religious order and a corporate invasion. As destructive rifts spread across the colony, each faction fights to control or close them for their own ends. Navigate diverse zones, uncover hidden lore, and shape the fate of a system on the brink!
Build your character with the abilities and choices that reflect your playstyle. The colony reacts to your every move, crafting a narrative that’s yours to own—whether you’re a disciple of diplomacy, an astute strategist, a crusader for chaos, or something different altogether. And yes, you can dumb!
Recruit companions with unique traits, backgrounds and goals. Whether you choose to help them achieve their ambitions or steer them toward your own objectives, your influence shapes their growth (or death), making them an integral part of the immersive story you create together.

See more of Arcadia with ultra-wide 21:9 display support. From massive corporate facilities to the vastness of space, a wider field of view delivers a more cinematic perspective on the colony’s fractured future.

Whos the moron at the studio who thinks very hard should be getting 1 shot constantly and cheesing every fight?
I'm so utterly dissapointed with this game. I get that they're writing for an idiotic audience of console players, but come on. 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ factions, on *every planet* they're just the same? All the cool and funny satirical story elements of corporate espionage between corporations? Gone. Then we get this idiotic faction of "the protectorate" that's supposed to be space communists, but really just plays out like space feudal monarchists. It's a bigger game, with more limiting paths, which at the end of the day feels smaller. This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥. The incentivize hyperspecialization, and don't allow you to utilize your companions for anything meaningful, you can't even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ equip them, for ♥♥♥♥'s sake. Bring Tim Caine back as the head of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ project, because this game obviously lacked his vision. The first one was too short, that was the only problem I had with it. It needed a few more planets. The expansions were both great, a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just couldn't change their own diapers and complained about it, because that's all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gamers do, because they're miserable ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ losers. ♥♥♥♥ this game, ♥♥♥♥ the audience this is appealing to, and ♥♥♥♥ Microsoft for ruining one of the best studios ever.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I usually really like these sort of games but this one really didn't grab me. It must be because building your character wasn't that interesting. Usually, I can overlook boring companions and boring story if I'm at least interested in building up the character. Made it through Outer Worlds 1 ok. Not really sure what changed with this one.
Gameplay is mid. The game feels like it lacks passion and polish which is disappointing because I do enjoy the game world. There were way too many times where I noticed lack of detail and care in regards to the environment. Several times I noted that there should be a recess for an object to fit into which simply did not exist. I get that it's important to pay attention to model complexity for performance-sake but it ends up feeling lazy and rushed. Details matter to me. I didn't care for the controls to swap TTD because any time I swapped it out to solve puzzles I would forget to swap it back before hopping into combat and trying to use it only to pull out the N-ray scanner.
I absolutely reccommend this game. It makes the first game look like a tech demo. It is everything a sequel should be. There are concise, interesting and challenging single main story-line dungeons that are larger than entire outdoor planet areas from the first game. Definitely in my top 5-10 game sequels.
Underwhelming. Was not Fallout: New Vegas in space.
Extremely boring. I know that the factions are satire, but the dialogue is too over the top and not funny. Writing is terrible, story is boring and this game is not an open world.
This review summarizes my thoughts exactly: https://steamcommunity.com/id/FGREAPER/recommended/1449110 Need to say no more. I'm not finishing this game.
"I am a very important upper-middle-lower-lower manager and the way I advance that status scantly involves learning the names and faces of my peons."
