I've loved this game series the moment i played tangle tower, i have been so excited to play this game ever since it was announced and i can confidently say this game is a incredible sequal to the original, the story and characters were all so well done! i love each and every one of them, the character were all so unique and beautifully animated, the twists and truths that are discovered in the story were so well crafted and shocked me everytime, the puzzles were fun and brain testing, and loved figuring out the mystery along side sally and grimoire! hope in their next case they finally get paid! over all, my expectations for this sequal were absolutly met, as Wirman put it, it can be daunting to make a sequal to a game that was already good, the pressure to top your previous work can feel impossible, but everyone on the game studio team made it possible, and whatever you make in future i will be sure to tune in again everytime! thank you!
Juegazo, estaba esperando que saliera, y como siempre, no decepcionó. Todos los personajes son queribles (me entristeció el final!) y el humor de Grimoire y Sally está siempre al día. Recomiendo fuerte.
Obscenely well-put together. Crazy amount of animation, voice-acting. The budget, skill, writing, acting, and design are unusually well put together here. The puzzles aren't super hard, but they're still clever and satisfying. Not even done with it and it's still sitting on my Gold Shelf games along with Lorelei and the Laser Eyes.
Phenomenal game. The storyline, the voice acting, the mystery, everything is great. I did find some puzzles a bit hard but don't let that stop you from experiencing the game. Absolute gem
I really enjoyed this installment of Detective Grimoire franchise, the team definitely went above and beyond with the game design on this one. The characters, the story, the puzzles, the art - everything was great and all of it fit together really nicely. I kinda missed combining suspect statements into the story of the murder like we did in Tangle Tower, but the fact we address the characters and their misconceptions with facts this time felt really good to finish the game off. Totally recommend, whether you're starting off with this game or returning to the franchise after having played the previous games.
Better than the previous game in every way without trampling its legacy. The killer reveal and story after it were handled much better than the previous game as well. The characters besides the killer were also very interesting and well designed. The game is 10ish hours if you take your time really consider every line of dialogue. Great for any returning fans or mystery fans in general. Playing the previous entry is something I would heavily recommend but isn't totally necessary.
This game has everything for it. Mystery and whimsy, wonderful art-direction and animation, great voice acting, enchanting music, a murder, a red herring and the wit of all the characters and Grimoire and Sally's dad and mom jokes. Stumbled across this new release by pure chance, and having loved Tangle Tower, this was a no-brainer to purchase and play.
WOW! This game was soooo GOOD! The Grimoire games keep getting better and better with every new game. A lot of the things I liked less about Tangle Tower got improved in this one: A more believable story of the murder and better reasoning of the culprit, a more elaborate ending + a brief look to the future of the remaining characters (after the events) + the time it takes to finish the game went up quite a lot (basically doubled) which was fun! I'm very happy the developers went in a slightly different direction with the story this time as the last two games both had the 'searching for mystids/cryptids' storyline which felt a little too similiar. This time they went with an object rather than an animal/creature as the main thing, which felt refreshing! The artstyle, location- and character design were truly GORGEOUS, as to be expected from this incredible team! + The voice acting was so GOOD as well, they truly made the characters come to life! This game and its story felt the most complete and real out of all the Grimoire games so far! I also prefer how this game had very subtle mentions of characters from the earlier games, the ending was so sweet as well! As mentioned earlier the Secrets of the swamp and Tangle tower were a LOT of FUN, but they did feel a little too similiar. This game felt very refreshing! I also really liked the new characters and prefer the characters not all having the same 3 last names haha (Fellow etc.). My only complaint would be that the talking to the characters went on a little too long at times. Asking them about all the suspects, clues and asking the questions was fun, but seemed to take just a bit too long as I felt my attention slither away every now and then and found myself clicking through some of the dialogue to get through everything. I prefer puzzles and looking around the locations for clues over dialogue, so this felt just a bit unbalanced. It would have been even more fun with a few extra clues or puzzles and a little less lenghty dialogue parts here and there. Still I am incredibly excited to see more!!! I'll be patiently waiting for the next game, whatever it may be!
