german language pack which is available for this game, is missing! in this version of the game. I would have expected Steam to provide the best version of the game, with all final language packs included. This way i can not really experience the game how i remembered it, with the beautiful german voice over like "Du musst dich überwinden, April!"

This game... wow. I honestly don't know where to start other than that this game is good. Like REALLY good. Sure, the gameplay is just your basic run-of-the-mill Point 'n Click, but the story, the characters, the worlds, all of it were just soooo... wow. And since TLJ has a sequel (Dreamfall), I'll definitely be checking it out after finishing it. And to anyone who reads this or other reviews, please play The Longest Journey. Don't let the title fool you cause it is not that long of a game (only about 13 chapters long), but I do gotta advise you to use a guide because is it one of those games where you have to be prepared in the very beginning, but it is worth it. The questing part could be hard and some of the narrative choices are weird, but overall is one of the greatest games within the genre. It's got that catchy visual juice and has an immense soul. My bet is that it actually got really close when tried to predict the future. I could see that coming upon us.

You can download a patch from the Workshop to play with Spanish voices or HD textures, among other things.

I really found relaxation on this point n click game. 1. Beware that this game has loads of dialogue so if u like reqding books or comics your in the right place 2. dont expect like most point n click to get items and use m on the spot to solve something, that is not how this game works. you have to go back and forth and backtrace, but in a good way. its interesting 3. also beware that this game is more psychedelic mixed with deep philosophy with a taint of spirituality, so if you dont have that you are not gonna be able totake the deep dive 4. please upgrade the graphics. The guide is in the steam guide tab. no it doesnt change the game it only sharpens it so no it wont lose the spirit 5.make sure no one disturbs you like i said loads of dialogue cant have someone disturbing you the game is really relaxed. i was playing call of juare bound by blood that sidetracked me cuz well the first call of juarez was more of an rpg with in between chill moments and somewhat semi linear. still had a bad aftertaste cuz i hated how sinfull all the protagonists were, bound by blood fatigued me cuz it turned out to be a run n gun shooter, it was simply a bit too much so what happened i started mass installing games cause for some reason it becomes hard for me to stay on the chair. But this game got me going. i grew into it and u need to be pqtient in the beginning because its louzy as hell in the beginning. But once you are used to the rythm of the game you start to get chiiiiiiil. So thats what i did and i was putting effort and i can see myself going on. only 3..7 hours and i feel i can go on for a point n click game i have a hard time to rate it i love dialogue so id say 8.5 out of 10 its not traditional and untill now it wasnt hard but then again its dialogue that grinds your time. look if u loved the dreamfall series yall should do this one is all i say

I'd heard a lot about this game, so I tried it years ago, but for some reason, I stopped playing and only returned to it a few days ago. This is a different and unique game. The worlds the main character travels to, the events that unfold, and the clever storyline that allows the player to progress in a captivating way all contributed to my enjoyment. Its puzzles are also intelligent and not overly complex, unlike what's typical for this genre. This doesn't mean the game is easy enough to be boring. There's much to say about the game's distinctive features, but what truly sets it apart and makes it an unforgettable experience is its amazingly rich and beautifully written story, with deep references to the renowned epics like the Odyssey and Gilgamesh. The game's design is very distinctive, and I think it was captivating for players when it was released. These days, games like this don't get the recognition they deserve, but the truth is, this game is phenomenal and visually stunning. The cutscenes are beautifully filmed, even though 3D graphics weren't as advanced back then. The team put in a tremendous effort to create something beautiful. I'm grateful to the game's team and to everyone who played it and recommended it to others.

A jewel in my Steam library. Easily one of the best adventure games ever created. If you love good story telling and can overlook dated graphics, this is absolutley worth playing.
