There's not much I can say about this game that hasn't been said already. It has some of the highest highs as well as some of the lowest lows. A considerable chunk of the required story in the middle isn't relevant to the main plot. The sidequests, though, are I think easily the best in the series to date. They were generally more substantial, many being their own setpieces, continuing subnarratives from the previous game, or subnarratives from the current game, or involving callbacks going back as far as the very beginning. If you really don't like the worldbuilding or the sidequests, they are less required than ever—later in the game you aren't even required to do any of them. Make sure to read Three & Nine (the novel in this game). It's the best Trails novel to date, hands down, and reading it will also greatly increase your enjoyment in some parts of the next game. They nerfed the new battle mechanics from CS3 that were incredibly broken (well most of them anyway). While I feel they may have went a bit too far the other way, it still makes for a more nicely balanced game than last time, where you needed almost no effort to break it. Music is still great, not much more I can add there. Majority of the big lore reveals are still amazing, and I can't believe how they find ways to surprise you with some of them even this far in, when you know how the writing tends to work. Ultimately the dumb blockbuster movie decisions sown in the last game come to fruition here. But there are a lot of hype or emotional moments with many characters you know and love, and it cancels out with the disappointments to make a still solid game.

The 9th game in the Trails series, and the final game in the Erebonia arc. The graphics engine used in CS3 has been refined and tweaked to run smoother, and the lack of events in CS3 is not a problem here. This is one of the longest Trails games, and it brings a conclusion to some of the longest running storylines in the series. Do not start with this game if you are new. Start at the beginning with Sky FC/1st.
What a beautiful end to the Cold Steel quadrilogy. This game delivers in every way that I wanted it to. Everyone coming together to take on insurmountable odds has never felt more sincerely epic than in this game. It's probably my favorite of all the trails games that I've played thus far. Now I'm wondering how the ♥♥♥♥ they follow this one up.
Had as much fun as the previous games.
This game was absolutely amazing from start to finish. A perfect conclusion to a 4 game long arc and great fanservice and callbacks. The plot points concluded were amazing and the character writing is on point as always. Rean gets too much hate imo. Can't wait to see where the series goes from here.
I am a fan of Trails, but this game is so full of bloat and cringe I don't know where to start. 1) Falcom can't make a hard decision about any character, so the whole "World War about the start" feel so silly cause you know nobody gonna die just like the civil war in Cold Steel II. 2) Too many lines. Dev team decided to bring in 30-40 characters, and feel the need everyone of them need to have a conversation. Even in the heat of battle there has to be a conversation. It got so satirical some characters had to step in say "Guys, cut the conversation it is a battle we gtg"....but conversation still have to go for another 15 minutes. 3) I agree with you but is my job to stop you-It is like holy crap everyone has to go into combat to "test your ideals" it eventually felt like a satire of a JRPG. I am surprised I didn't get into a death duel with the local Starbucks barrista over coffee flavor -_-;; 4) Every girl need to fall into love with the MC. I read harem stories now and then, but even I felt the whole thing is too cringy.
Absolute Peak Cinema!!
