If Alisa has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Alisa has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Alisa has only one fan then that is me. If Alisa has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Alisa, then I am against the world.
Possibly the shortest Trails game I've played so far, but that's not a bad thing. There's no missions to find lost kids or pets, or sort packages and other such time fillers. The story is tight, focused, and well-paced. Even the Corridor of Reverie is pretty much an optional dungeon crawler distraction from the main story. Sure, you are required to do the first three and a half floors, but the rest is an optional post-game romp into more memories and character storyline wrap-ups. Even doing the Corridor during the main game is very, very fun and worth doing since it's like what we used to call in my old D&D days; a "Monty Haul" dungeon. The game tosses high end loot at you like an explosion at a candy store. All in all, and I hate sounding like a broken record; it's the best time I've ever had in a Trails game....so far. No needless junk missions just to pad out the game, just a solid wrap-up of both the Crossbell and Erebonia storylines in a tightly focused, thoroughly enjoyable romp. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will be left so thoroughly satisfied. Playing the Crossbell and Erebonia games are a MUST, but for veterans of those campaigns, this is the game and complete conclusion you have been waiting for.

Trails into Reverie serves as an epilogue to the Erebonia and Crossbell arc. In my opinion Trails into reverie have 2 weakness, story and pacing. For the story i think its not good enough, just below my expectation. (It feels like watching filler on shounen anime). And for the pacing, i think its really - really bad. The pacing is really slow and short on action. I think around 75% reading and 25% action to finish the main story. But you can extend the action by going to the dungeon to grind for better gear and character level (this game have more than 40 playable character to use). But again its "meaningless" and take too much time (FYI you just need maintain aroud 10 - 15 char to complete the story). For the other aspect like graphic, gameplay and soundtrack its remains good like you can expect from the Trails series. Reccomend or not? its hard to say. If you hard fans of trails series and want the fullest experience, then its okay to play it. But if you skip it, I still thinks its okay. Just watch youtube or read online for the summary of Trails into reverie. *note: I need so much caffeine only to stay awake and finish this game.
I'm not entirely certain how to review this one. By game hours, it's easy for me to give it a yes vote for recommendation but it's a very conditional one. You could play this raw, not knowing anything about the franchise, and you would only scrape the surface at best for understanding damn near anything about it for reference. I personally believe it requires a lot of effort put in ahead of time with very long, story-driven RPGs to experience this game at its best. It's the rough equivalent of telling someone to play the first nine Final Fantasy RPGs as required reading before you were allowed to play Final Fantasy X. That's this game's one and possibly only weakness and the franchise as a whole. You're much better off playing all the games in line, start to finish, with some exceptions and debate on your start point. This is the game you play as a reward for making it this far. Unlike a good amount of RPGs, this one leads up to one of the best culminations of your time that I can describe for said effort as it ties together three very important Falcom story arcs before it gets itself ready for a fourth and does so in a fantastic manner bordering on fanfiction, at times. Everything that you liked about the games leading up to now, from the original Trails in the Sky through the Crossbell games Zero and Azure and all the way up to Cold Steel IV, is represented here. I don't know how to describe it much better than that without giving a lot of it away. Best advice would be to approach and beat all the previous games, all nine of them, before taking this on. You'll be happy you did and it's by far the best experience imaginable for your time. The only thing that comes close as a culmination title similar to this one is Trails 3rd, which is the best analogy to what this game ends up being, in the end, and if you liked that one then you should have absolutely no problems picking this up. So if you've not played any Falcom games whatsoever but are interested in some very heavy story-telling and fairly challenging gameplay in its own right, start with the other games first, preferably Trails in the Sky (not that I started there, personally). Even the remake would be a good start and its successor remake due out soon. It might be better overall considering the quality of life changes since the days of its original release more than 20 years ago. If you're willing to do a lot of time spent, probably months or even years, then I would tell you to come back here and absolutely enjoy what you get out of the experience - it's the best way to cap it off and tie it all together that I've seen out of any videogame like this.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie
As a new Trails fan since 1st Chapter, I've had an absolute blast immersing myself in this world, but also in many Trails communities online. If you ask 10 Trails fans for their tier list of games, you're going to get 15 different answers, but one answer that seems to be consistent is that this game, Trails Into Reverie is absolute peak. After hearing for so long how good this game was, I was excited to finally be caught up to the point where I got to play it. However, as I dove into the game, I was met with a story that felt like a DLC story, a repetitive instance dungeon sytem (The Reverie Corridor) that also had a mini-gacha element to it with the loot, and a cast that was so big that it became exhausting trying to pick a build for each character. I might be on an island here, but I will say that this is a bottom tier Trails game for me. Starting with the Reverie Corridor, the entire concept of it felt disjointed from the rest of the game. I love dungeon crawling, but the dungeon itself wasn't very exciting, and I found myself just burning Unified Arts and S-Crafts to speed through each fight because I was bored with the dungeon quickly. And while that gives the impression that it's just a quick side-step from the story, the Reverie Corridor easily takes up more time than the actual story. Without it, the entire story is probably 20 hours, which I would have been totally fine with, but the Reverie Corridor just felt like fluff filled with a random dungeon, too many mini games (although the rail shooter was great), and and daydream sequences that just didn't hit as hard as the ones in Trails 3rd did. Next is the story. This arc should have ended at Cold Steel 4. I felt that Cold Steel 4 ended perfectly (doesn't matter which ending), and we should have said goodbye to Class VII there, but Reverie had to add in a conflict that felt a little forced, although I understand that there is some setup for the next arc wrapped into it. As it got towards the end, the "big bad" in the game just seemed like too much. I love a good story that zig's when it should zag, but this one went a little too off the rails for me. I caught myself skipping through some text because I was ready for this one to be over. Onto the positives, the three routes were actually really nice. I didn't realize I was a fan of that style until I played this game, and it sounds like the latest Trails game is also setup that way. Can't wait for that one. All three routes were fun, with C's route being the best in my opinion. The combat is great, as always. They took the perfected combat formula from Cold Steel 4 and added some sprinkles on top with the Unified Arts which was a cool mechanic. Even though I complained about the huge cast, no one can complain about not being able to play a character that they loved. Everyone was there, which was cool. I also liked how there were no side-quests in this game, although if it's a choice between the Reverie Corridor and no side-quests, I'll take no side-quests. I've said it before with the Trails games, no game in the series is actually bad, everyone should play this series, but just like a beloved series of books, movies, etc, theres gotta be some that are just "ok." In order of my favorites I would say it's: Zero < CS2 < Reverie < Azure < CS1 < Sky 3rd < CS4 < Sky FC < CS3 < Sky SC
