Picking up shortly after The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, Estelle travels across Liberl in search of Joshua. The journey involves more than seeking loved ones, however, as the Bracer Guild also tasks her with unraveling the mysteries behind the newly unveiled Society of Ouroboros.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

An excellent Part II to Trails in the Sky FC. I don't have much unique to add to the chorus of fans who praise this game's improvements in comparison to its Part I counterpart. I will say that it ran fine on the Steam Deck with minimal tinkering. I'm not sure why Steam says this is unsupported, I found it pretty stable. Onto the Third!

The first 5 games are isometric but the turn based combat had me hooked almost from the get go I started the Trails in the sky FC for 8 bucks and got to the 3rd chapter and decided to try cold steel 1 to see how the modern one differed got caught up in CS 1 and went back and finished FC if they had english voice dub in FC and SC it would be perfect as it is it holds amazingly well because the FC/SC story is amazing now in chapter 3 of SC and cant wait to see were it goes. Great stories great characters good turn based combat the BGM is sooo good. the guest appearances from FC are are awesome.
Прекрасная игра. Мне не передать словами насколько мне понравилось проходить через это потрясающее приключение вместе с главными героями.
love
oh lord its so peak
Отличный сиквел. Из минусов только начало игры: обучение как будто делали на оттвали и последняя глава которая показалась очень затянутой. Но в целом это отличная игра на 9/10
Trails Series Review
This Section is going to be mostly copy/pasted across all my Trails reviews. Scroll down for the game specific section. The Legend of Heroes: Trails series is far from a perfect series of games and none of them are individually my favorite JRPG. If someone told me they hated it and never want to touch it again, I'd at least understand. That being said, the Trails series is by far, hands down, my favorite JRPG series. The level of care, detail, and attention given to its setting and characters is genuinely something I've never seen in the medium before or since. Seeing protagonists and important characters return in later games as anything from cameos to important NPCs to playable protagonists again is just incredibly satisfying, and its the only game series that makes me genuinely giddy to see an old friend make a reappearance. As a longtime gamemaster in tabletop RPGs I can't tell you how impressed I am with how well they keep the continuity between games and arcs and allow past games to properly impact the future ones. It'd be incorrect to say that EVERY NPC is super important, there are hundreds of minor incidental NPCs, but even then many of those have very fleshed out lives and stories that play out and change IF you take the time to talk to them and invest in remembering them. That being said If you want to play these games and see most or all of the side content or get the top Bracer/Dept./Academic ranking then for the love of god PLAY THESE GAMES WITH A GUIDE. These games, especially the older ones, DO NOT hold your hand when it comes to optional content, you WILL miss quests, gear, quartz, achievements, etc. Save yourself the trouble and just use a guide, it DOES NOT diminish the story or gameplay. Lastly, play these games in release order for maximum enjoyment. These are not stand alone games, if you play a sequel game within an arc before the previous ones you'll be lost, and if you play a sequel arc before the previous ones you'll spoil yourself and/or miss a ton of context. Release order is:

Liberl Arc

Trails in the Sky FC
Trails in the Sky SC
Trails in the Sky 3rd
Crossbell Arc

Trails from Zero
Trails to Azure
Erebonia Arc

Trails of Cold Steel 1
Trails of Cold Steel 2
Trails of Cold Steel 3
Trails of Cold Steel 4
Reverie

Trails into Reverie
Calvard Arc

Trails through Daybreak
Trails through Daybreak 2
Trails Beyond the Horizon (Not released in English)
I actually started with Cold Steel 1 before going back to Trails in the Sky FC and going in order from there and It didn't impact my enjoyment too much but you WILL get so much more out the series if you go in order. DO NOT play Cold Steel 2 onward before the Crossbell arc, you will spoil so much for yourself as the climax of the Crossbell arc take place concurrently with Cold Steel 2.
Series Pros

The characters are genuinely great. With one exception
Josette
there was not a single main, secondary, or tertiary character that I didn't eventually come to love or at least appreciate.
And even Josette gets a lot better in later games.

The characters are tropey, but not tropes. You'll see the good boy who tries hard, or the angry guy with a big sword, but while that might inform your first impression of a character, pretty much all of them have a lot more depth to them. for example Estelle might initially seem like just the obnoxiously optimistic tomboy, but
she's got a lot of self doubt and struggles to measure up to the multitude of genuine superhumans in her life.

The story and setting is continuously built upon and expanded as the series continues, and in ways that usually make sense.
The world feels alive. After almost every major story event virtually every accessible NPC will have their dialogue and/or positioning updated. Feels more like a living world than any Bethesda game.
The combat is fun even after mastering it and continues to subtly change and refine itself with each game.

Series Cons

"It's like Poetry... It rhymes." You will see this series do the same things again and again, across games, across arcs, across the series. The same quests, the same locations, the same plot structures, the same locations in different countries, the same villain archetypes. You will start to call plot points and see villains from miles away. Ultimately the series does keep it fresh enough for me to stay invested, but I could see this being a HUGE problem for many people.
These games want you to miss stuff. Especially the earlier ones. I'll stress this again, if you want to do all or most of the side content, use a guide, even then you'll probably ♥♥♥♥ up at least a half a dozen missables and want to eat a brick.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Anton in SC...

The combat can usually be solved in such a way that fights are either "walk in the park easy" or "OMFG can I please get a turn!?" If you know what you're doing fights with a medium difficulty are virtually non-existent.
Fatigue tends to hit towards the end of each game, where the final act or dungeon can sometimes start to feel overly padded.

Trails in the Sky SC Review
The game picks up a short time after the conclusion of FC with Estelle training to be a more capable and independent bracer. After this you get to choose to adventure with either Agate or Scherazard and while the overall story remains the same regardless, seeing how the characters and world react differently depending on who you bring is a nice touch. I chose Agate to get Estelle out of her comfort zone. The story definitely moves at a faster clip than FC and goes much further than the first game in terms of scale and quality. However, you will find yourself navigating the majority of Liberl multiple times over and after a while it can feel a bit tedious. This series does the whole "important character leaves the group to be an edgy loner" thing quite a few times, but this game has probably the best execution of that in the series as I was actually quite invested in catching up to them and it didn't really feel all that contrived. SC introduces a host of new characters and expounds on the backstories and circumstances of many existing characters. The Society Enforcers are really fun villains with lasting impact throughout the rest of the series. SC does continue the trend of sticking you with only 2-3 characters for large chunks of time, but it's not quite as egregious as FC from my memory. Overall a great step forward in the series from its predecessor an a better game in its own right.
Trails in the Sky SC Pros

Story builds on and expounds upon the base built up in FC and has a satisfying and natural progression towards some more "high concept" threats.
Many new great and enduring characters are introduced in this game; and existing characters get plenty of satisfying focus and growth.
The combat system is refined and the game contains one of, if not the hardest and most satisfying fights in the entire series.
Loewe

Soundtrack has some of the most standout tracks in the series. The Merciless Savior is a personal favorite of mine.

Trails in the Sky SC Cons

There are still far too many sections where you're stuck with 2-3 characters.
You'll get tired of retreading old ground by the 3rd time you've toured the entirety of Liberl.
Some of the side systems can be really frustrating or annoying (Fishing comes to mind).
This is the first time where the final stretch starts to feel a bit like a chore. This is worse in some of the later games.
