Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Sep 10 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If you've played Hotline Miami, you know a games in this style can be great. I really enjoyed my time with that one and decided to pick this one up on the cheap to scratch that itch. Sadly, The Hong Kong Massacre is nowhere near the quality of that one. Every enemy in the game is an eagle eyed sniper with the fastest reaction time possible. Regardless of the equipment they use, they can take you out from the other end of the map and so fast that you don't have time to act. By comparison, the player points ahead and your bullet apparently goes every direction but forward. This is made much worse by the fact that enemies can blast their way through doors and walls with ease. Yet, the player cannot. The bullet hits the door/object and disappears, leaving you open for death. I tried it on the Steam Deck and I hated the controls. HATED it. It felt strange and inaccurate. Interestingly enough, I have it on Switch by chance and it appears to be just as bad. The game has a great aesthetic. I love how it looks and I dig the music. But when your controls suck, the AI has a noticeable advantage, it's not worth playing. It's a good job it only cost a pound or something. Stick with Hotline Miami. By FAR the better game.

Hong Kong Massacre plays a little like if Hotline Miami, Hatred, and Max Payne 1 and 2 had a lil baby together, then they all realized that smoking during the pregnancy process is what ruins babies. I cannot in good faith recommend buying this game due to the price point. It is a very good game, and considering that it was not made in English, the translations (the few there are) do not mess up a lot and when they do it's a negligible extent. It is similar to Hotline Miami in that it is a top down shooter, the gun play is similar (not bad but hard to get used to, aided by the fact you have a dash that makes you invincible and can slow down time for a short while) and you die in one hit that usually leaves you stunned as to how it happened, along with the detection in this game which is awful. There is little story, but it's mostly just "His girlfriend died, so he shoots gangstas" and I mean, that's cool and all, but really? I don't even think we learn his name or his girlfriend's name or see any cutscene with her besides her with an umbrella, where we don't even see her face. The main pros of this game: Decent gunplay Fun to pick up, not ridiculously hard (I guess) Star challenges add a fun way to play without ruining game The main cons of the game: Exponentially gets harder, rather than linearly like most games Bullets are very hard to see unless paying very close attention Bad story Slo mo acts a little strange and very frequently is useless unless you start it before they even see you Horrid detection system, enemies swivel faster than you presumably can, even in slo mo
