About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a dystopian world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, AI automata, cybernetically enhanced soldiers, human-machine hybrids, and relentless automated warfare. There's two sides to this war, and you're not on either.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The only reason why this review is negative is because its part of the official discords movement to bring back the developers and having their line of communication with their community back. The game itself is beautifull and has its heart at the right place. On the execution its a very complex issue. First: Making this their first game. Unreal Engine 5 itself is not a bad idea in terms of potential long term but we can tell that this is a serious problem for the developers who most likely have little experience (as what they stated themselves from what I remeber). This should've been maybe their third game or so, making iterations or games that have portions of mechanics for your final game like for example: The Dark Souls Series. Next on the list is trying to please the community. This game has a Fog of War problem with its community. There is a big chunk of people who simply do not understand the game and blindly hate it for...not being the type of game they want. Whats left of the true community I would argue is the leftovers on their Discord they've been seemingly bullied out of. If there is one tale as old as time its trying to please everyone always ending up failing, whwich is something think they've learned this themselves. As a result however the only line of communication thats left seems to be one person on discord and their videos. I sincerely hope we can get them back to that. Revenue: I heavily advise the devs to make more skins. The Artbook may be your saving grace and also probably a way to gauge the ammount of dedicated fans but please try to make more to make developement and staff more sustainable. Selling your albums and skins is only enough if you keep making both. There are more than enough indicators that you're lacking funding. Heck, at this point even crowdfunding is something people would do to help support the game. I know that this is very likely not something you may think as unacceptable but do consider it by asking the community, the actual community that is still left and playing this game. I myself was more than willing to buy both albums so far, a skin pack i particularly liked the theme of and even pre-ordered your artbook. Please give us more to support your game, at this point we're wanting to pay you to polish this game more with hopefully more staff. Now the good. The best pillars of game design this game just shines at is asthetics. A with game very nice and interesting lore, its a living artbook. The atmosphere both day and night is very effective, sometimes you will just stand there and make screenshots of whats happening all around you. You learn by doing, memorizing and developing your own priority system for loot. Be too greedy and you'll most likely die, be to cautious and you'll make little progress. You learn what enemies die to what, sometimes how they will react. A lot of lore and things about the universe itself you just find in the game itself through reading and talking, similar to Dark Souls. A lot of things you still have to make your own theories about which makes the game stay mysterious enough to and even their skins add to the lore, sometimes which is just brilliant. The music is such a good combination of genres that make you feel dispair, hope, shock and awe and so much more. The grind is long enough to make you not speedrun the game and not too extreme to make this game a slog. Your progress feels meaningfull enough to keep going. Its a puzzle slowly being put together, the more npcs you meed to more interesting the game becomes and the more you want to interact with them. The maps and regions themselves make enough sense while feeling very different each time. The tunnels were a brilliant addition to the game that makes the game more heist like at times. Hunter Killers themselves are a very cool and also hilarious concept and I like the variety of them but their behavior needs to change a little, similar to the other units. The battlefield needs to feel more alive. I already like that you can already influence them but it has to be closer to what you guys advertised but from the information I could gather through the only connection we have on the official discord, Fun Dog Studios is planning to do that. The potential and the universe of this game is just beautifull. An entire franchise can be made with this, its clear as day but I would say Fun Dog Studios made this game too early too quickly with little luck from external financial support. This right here is what the games industry in the indie sector needs, it just needs a longer term strategy and approach in my humble opinion. I hope they get where they wanted their game vision to be and with a little luck gets a second wind in revenue, to hire more staff with more experience with Unreal Engine 5 to bring this game to the next level but I do not posses enough information to evaluate how likely this is at this time all I, or rather the actual community of this game has is hope, similar to your scav life in The Forever Winter. As for recommendations: If you like dark souls, the grimdark genre (not just warhammer), post apocalyptic settings, ghost in the shell and Blame! and can appreciate some grindyness with a lots of story and world building.
I personally think with 69 hours 43 minutes 24 seconds of experience that the game is early access. Pretty good
good for loot goblins. good for dystopians. good for short FPS.

The enemy AI detects you even when you're hidden behind a wall. Cyborgs pace back and forth within 5–10 meters of you, making it impossible to leave your position and move forward; you simply can't budge. It’s easy to defeat most enemies, but the cyborgs are off-putting because you die in a single hit. If the game is supposed to focus on stealth, this clearly isn't the right title for it. There is significant lag; the crosshair jumps around while aiming, and the character's arm holding the weapon blocks the target. Enemies spawn very quickly. The game is unplayable, even though it showed great promise. The graphics are excellent, but that doesn't matter when the game itself is unplayable. This game could be great but it won't be.
Intento ser objetivo pero no puedo, no se que le ven a esta cagada los que lo juegan, no tiene ni pies ni cabeza, lindos graficos si, ambientacion y musica tambien, pero nada mas.. es un somnifero.

So this is how i put it to my mate: So you know when you first watched terminator 1 and you saw that scene of the war in the future with giant machines blasting away at some guys in a technical while others ran and hid amongst the dirt......remember how your heart cried out that that was the film you wanted to see.....but we never really got .....do you wanna go there?
WARNING: I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO HAVE A GPU WITH ~10GB OF VRAM OR MORE RATHER THAN RELY SOLELY ON THE MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS Bought this game day one to support the development and started playing it recently since a lot of the game's muscle has been wrapped around the beautifully crafted bones. It is still janky because the animations could do with some refining, the spawning system still needs work, and ai generally needs some improvements to make them more lively such as by allowing them to make more advanced tactical maneuvers, i.e., leaning corners, throwing hand grenades, suppressive fire. Additionally, more weapon variety and gear unlocks through quests ala Escape from Tarkov would add more to the progression. Nonetheless, I am definitely enjoying my experience for the following reasons: The tunnels added a more meaningful way to onboard new players and allow them to learn the game and build up xp, credits, and loot before they decide to head out into the main maps. The game is such a feast for the eyes, seeing 3 Europan Medium Mechs shoulder to shoulder wrecking havok is a sight to behold. The music is even better with vol. 2. I appreciate the game's challenge because it is based more on one's own awareness and ability to plan and adapt to different situations rather than your character's stats. lastly, as the warning above states, I highly recommend a gpu with 10gb or more of VRAM because there are moments where I go above 8gb of vram usage, such as on ashen mesa, while my render resolution is set to 50% on medium graphics. That being said, performance has definitely improved and I am able to run the game with an Arc B390 iGPU with 12 Xe cores and VRAM set to 11.9gb at ~50-70fps (no frame gen just tsr upscaling).
