Welcome to The Fabled Woods, a dark and mysterious narrative short story. Despite the picturesque beauty, ugly and terrible secrets lurk among the shifting boughs, darkness that no amount of dappled sunlight can erase. Take the first step, and experience an unforgettable journey.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 23 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews

I was able to play this with an x box controller which was nice. I did have to change the settings to be able to look around which was frustrating. I thought the game was bugged right from the start. After I figured out what to do, I was able to enjoy the game. Yes it is short, but I knew this going in. I got on sale 90% off, which would have been the only way I would have bought it. I did like the graphics, could have been a bit more in depth or puzzle oriented. 6/10
The Fabled Woods is a short game that delves into the nightmares of someone who has apparently kidnapped and murdered hikers who passed through the forest. The hike through the forest itself is spectacular and beautiful. The repetition of scenes, both with and without changes, does a great job of illustrating the nightmare and creating a sense of uncertainty about what is real and what isn't. The “Remember” mechanic is an interesting idea, providing an additional layer of events that supposedly happened in the past at the very place where you’re currently standing. It adds another dimension to the fragmented storytelling and fits nicely with the game's dreamlike atmosphere. Unfortunately, it feels like the mechanic isn't fully utilized, either within the plot or the overall gameplay loop, leaving me wishing it had been explored a little further. The surreal transition scenes also help glue everything together into a single experience where everything feels possible: subconscious memories, investigation, nightmare, and the search itself. The game constantly blurs the boundaries between these elements, creating an intriguing atmosphere even when the narrative doesn't always manage to capitalize on it. I enjoyed the game. I have a special fondness for short games, especially those that attempt to deliver an emotional punch to the stomach within a few hours. The Fabled Woods is certainly trying to do that, with partial success. It turns out not to be much of an investigation game, nor does it quite reach the emotional depth it seems to be aiming for. Still, it provides a good experience, even if that experience is ultimately just a beautiful and unsettling hike through the forest. I was bothered by a few things in terms of polish. For example, the Dekogon logo is still visible on some of the props, revealing the source of some of the game's assets. There's also a crow that is supposed to be standing on a felled tree trunk but is actually hovering slightly above it, as well as trees that don't quite appear to be properly planted in the ground. There are a few other details like these scattered throughout the game. That said, none of these issues significantly detracted from the overall experience. In fact, they mostly pulled me out of the immersion for a second and made me smile, particularly because I'm a game developer myself. Playtime: 2.6 hours Verdict: A short, atmospheric, and beautiful experience that doesn't quite reach the narrative or emotional depth it seems to be aiming for, but is still well worth experiencing - especially if you enjoy short, surreal games with a strong sense of atmosphere.

At first i thought it was boring but after 10mins of the game I got hooked on the stories till the end.

amazing!
