L'univers est cool mais le gameplay, l'élément le plus important, est absolument affreux. Avec des phases de plateforme parfois à réaliser à la perfection alors que le personnage a de l'inertie dans son contrôle! Un grand moment de gaming qui vous fera sortir vos meilleures citations du JDG.

[h1] Review of The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard [/h1] The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard is a spin-off of the main Elder Scrolls series. Unlike the other games, Redguard focuses on a fixed protagonist, Cyrus, and offers a more linear and story-driven adventure set on the island of Stros M’Kai. [h2] Story [/h2] The story follows Cyrus, a Redguard mercenary who returns to Hammerfell after learning that his sister Iszara has mysteriously disappeared. His search leads him to Stros M’Kai, an island occupied by the Empire after the conquest of Hammerfell by Tiber Septim. At first, Cyrus only wants to find his sister, but he quickly discovers that her disappearance is connected to a much larger conflict. Stros M’Kai is controlled by the Imperial governor Lord Richton, while the remaining Redguard resistance is trying to fight against Imperial occupation. Cyrus gradually becomes involved with the Restless League and uncovers what happened to Iszara, Prince A’tor and the resistance. What starts as a personal search eventually turns into a fight for the freedom of Stros M’Kai. Cyrus becomes one of the main figures of the rebellion and helps the Redguards fight back against the Empire. [h2] Rating [/h2] Redguard is very different from the traditional Elder Scrolls games, but I think that is one of its biggest strengths. Instead of creating your own character and exploring a huge world, the game focuses more on Cyrus and his personal story. Because of this, the story feels more direct and cinematic. Stros M’Kai is also a great setting. Despite not being a huge open world, there are many different places to explore, NPCs to talk to, puzzles to solve and secrets to discover. The combination of exploration, dialogue, platforming and sword combat makes the game feel like a real adventure. The controls and combat can sometimes feel clunky, especially today, and the graphics obviously show the game’s age. However, considering that Redguard was released in 1998, I think it is still an impressive game with a strong atmosphere, interesting characters and one of the more unique stories in the Elder Scrolls universe. Na rozdíl od ostatních dílů zde hrajeme za předem vytvořenou postavu Cyruse a hra se více soustředí na příběh a dobrodružství odehrávající se na ostrově Stros M’Kai. [h2] Příběh [/h2] Příběh sleduje Cyruse, redguardského žoldáka, který se vrací do Hammerfellu poté, co zjistí, že jeho sestra Iszara záhadně zmizela. Její hledání ho zavede na Stros M’Kai, který je po dobytí Hammerfellu Tiberem Septimem okupován Císařstvím. Cyrus chce zpočátku pouze najít svou sestru, ale rychle zjistí, že její zmizení souvisí s mnohem větším konfliktem. Stros M’Kai ovládá císařský guvernér Lord Richton, zatímco zbytky redguardského odporu se snaží bojovat proti císařské okupaci. Cyrus se postupně zaplete s Restless League a odhaluje, co se stalo s Iszarou, princem A’torem a celým odporem. Z obyčejného pátrání po sestře se tak postupně stane boj za osvobození Stros M’Kai. Cyrus se nakonec stává jednou z hlavních postav povstání a pomáhá Redguardům postavit se Císařství. [h2] Hodnocení [/h2] Redguard je oproti klasickým Elder Scrolls hrám hodně odlišný, ale podle mě je právě to jedna z jeho největších výhod. Místo vytváření vlastní postavy a obrovského otevřeného světa se hra více soustředí na Cyruse a jeho osobní příběh. Díky tomu působí příběh mnohem přímočařeji a filmověji. Stros M’Kai je navíc skvělá lokace. Přestože nejde o obrovský otevřený svět, je zde spousta míst k prozkoumání, postav, se kterými lze mluvit, hádanek a různých tajemství. Kombinace průzkumu, dialogů, platformingu a soubojů s mečem dává hře opravdu dobrodružný pocit. Ovládání a souboje mohou být občas trochu neohrabané, hlavně z dnešního pohledu, a na grafice je samozřejmě stáří hry znát. Když ale vezmu v potaz, že Redguard vyšel už v roce 1998, pořád jde podle mě o velmi povedenou hru se skvělou atmosférou, zajímavými postavami a jedním z unikátnějších příběhů v serii The Elder Scrolls.
