Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

"How terrible to think that such a bright and noble man is nearing his end. What will we do without our pillar?"
Estranged for a couple of years, a young man rushes back to his childhood home. Dismayed by the news of his father losing his sight and inching closer to his demise, Marius, a priest in training, suspends his long studies at the seminary to be close in his final days to the man who taught him dignity and stalwartness. Under the gloom of impending death, the oldest son of honorable Leon Rosenthal can’t conceive the encroaching events that his arrival will unfold, equally exhilarating and petrifying.

"I've met her. Lord, this was not the first impression I wanted to make!"
Play as Marius as he returns to his childhood home in an attempt to reconnect with his ailing father, stern mother and overwhelmed younger brother. Much to your surprise, your household now employs an alluring young maid, Irina, who charms you from the first sight. But your blossoming romance will soon be tested as a shocking death shakes the feeble balance of this noble family.

"You took my life away from me, tried to bury me in suffering. All that you gave and all that I was, you took away until I was nothing but a bitter shadow of my former self."
The Crimson Maid is an adventure game focused on dialogues, exploration and light puzzle solving. Speak to Irina and your family to discover how they feel, their deep desires and what they may be hiding. Rummage around the mansion and the surrounding estate for clues, optional puzzles, misplaced documents and insights into the family and its past. Embark on a journey of self discovery as Marius comes to terms with his choices, their consequences and the unexpected legacy of his lineage.

"Unintentional, you say? Yes, I suppose one could unintentionally sneak behind me naked, delighting in the view, then trying to get a peek from the side too."

Just started on my journey but I'm already intrigued. The fact that this is a game made by a super small studio is mind-blowing. The visuals are jaw-droppingly good, the story is intriguing, and the game is dripping with atmosphere. Can't wait to explore the mansion some more and see what kind of darkness lurks beneath the gorgoeus, lush environments. Great game!

I have mixed feelings about the game, on one hand I had a lot of fun with it and it was worth my time, the Puzzles are simple, yet entertaining. The Mysteries are intriguing and rewarding to unravel. The characters feel very real and down to Earth, and I appreciate the conflicts they have, a lot of them are annoying and frustrating, but in a good way, the writers didn't hold back. But there is one glaring exception, one that portrays a harmful view of what a healthy relationship should be like, and whilst I would like to chalk it off to being simply the way how the characters in the world view it, rather than being reflective of the developers' own views, I have reason to believe otherwise, which would require me getting into spoilers below SPOILERS
The game condemns you for not forgiving and sucking up to Irina for the many awful actions she takes in the game. Including, but not limited to stealing, manipulating, poisoning Marius' Father to make him become gradually sick and delirious, and inadvertently causing the death of his mother as well. I didn't completely condemn Irina as a monster, I understood that she was a victim in her own ways, and her vengeance consumed her too much, so most of my responses and sentiments throughout the game as a response to Irina were in support of that, I had dialogue options where I can condemn and vilify her, but my options were instead conveying "You've done enough harm, and we need to heal" and Irina chastises you heavily for that, which I initially chalked up to Irina responding in an immature and volatile way as part of her flawed character, but it's hopefully not how the developers feel, and yet the game gave me an Achievement for the Ending called "Cold Blooded" and called me out for "Keeping my distance" combine that with the way how the Music and Dialogue play out in that final ending scene, and it's understandable to interpret it as the game itself painting me as the bad guy here, which left a very bad taste in my mouth ever since.
With that being the parting message of the game, I can't in good faith recommend it, in-spite of everything else it did well.
The murder at the mansion had everyone on edge, but Irina was still just too gorgeous ;)
I was very excited for this game, and I’m really disappointed by my lack of interest. I assumed there would be verbal dialogue, but it’s only verbal in between acts. During actual conversations you have to read it all. I found myself zoning out and skipping a lot of it. I also feel like the way the FMC talks feels very unrealistic. She comes off immediately promiscuous, like literally immediately, and I don’t like the energy or vibe of it at all. Graphics are beautiful, though. I also tried it on my Steam Deck to see how it would play and it works just fine. I don’t like that I have to choose whether I do or don’t recommend the game just to leave a review, because I do feel like a lot of other people would like it. It’s just not for me so I won’t be continuing the game.
The demo for The Crimson Maid caught my eye during one of the NextFests a year or two ago, and it has been sitting in my wishlist for a while. I tried GrimTalin's previous game, Last Days of Lazarus, while I waited, and quite enjoyed it. The Crimson Maid is a similar kind of game - first-person, historical setting, narrative-heavy and full of visually stunning environments, but it has a more intimate focus that I think plays to the devs' strengths. I also think the role-playing elements (in terms of dialogue choices and meaningful actions that you can take) are a bit stronger in this game. If I could offer one criticism, it's a narrative one (and spoiler-heavy). I feel that in order to get the
"romance"
ending, you end up having to
agree to overlook and forgive an awful lot, especially the death of your mother. I'm not sure how believable it is that a true romance could overcome something like that, and having to avoid blaming Irina for it felt like I was playing a character who was too desperate for love to do the right thing. But it is a creative choice, and maybe the intention was to make the romantic version Marius seem like a flawed character.
Anyways, overall I thought it was a great story, with gorgeous environments and interesting characters. I'm sad it's over, and that I can't play it again for the first time!
I can tell the female character was written by a man who has only looked at a woman once from a safe distance because no woman ever talks like this :D Apart from that the concept of the game is actually nice
Interesting storyline but quick gameplay.... Wish there were more chapters or a new story to keep going!
