With different endings and shifting entry points into The Complex, every playthrough can seem different. This is a slow-burning, atmospheric horror experience focused on exploration and tension.

Explore the mysterious and unforgiving world of The Complex.
Investigate an unknown lifeform residing in this world.
NOTE: This game is not connected with Kane Pixels' Backrooms nor the Backrooms Wiki/Fandom, though some parts of the experience may be inspired by them.

$20.00 is a lot for one hour of walking around.
The most boring game I have ever played. Literally nothing scary happens

It was extremely good looking, but that was it. I don't recall any threats or puzzles the whole game. Just walking. It's impressive how it was pretty much exactly 2 hours of walking.
So after watching the Backrooms movie it made me interested in learning more about the backrooms, plus made me excited to play some of the games too. For people who enjoyed the movie or Kane Parsons YouTube series this game feels heavily inspired by those works and I think you'll enjoy it. The game follows some Async workers (might not actually be called that in the game) who are exploring new areas of the backrooms and eventually the player gets lost and clips lower into the backrooms. The game is entirely just walking but the environment is always odd and eerie making the player want to see more or go further into this liminal space. The pacing of the game is good in my opinion, it dosen't hold your hand and tell you where to go but the game does not leave you stuck wondering for an hour figuring out where to go. You'll get the feeling of being unsure where you are going but you can sort of quickly find something interesting to look at or explore, which may include entire rooms, small things that have clipped into the backrooms and more. The layout of level zero also makes it a little easy to navigate where you could most likely find your way around based on if one path leads you to a bigger room and another continues with similar halls. The game dose not have levels but you will come across the poolrooms and other things/rooms that feel like they came from the Kane Pixels web series. If you are unsure if you'll like this one there is a shorter game that has the same feel as this one called " The Complex: Found Footage" which is $4.99 and is made by the same developer. I completed this game (Expedition) in around 3 hours and unlocked two of the achievements and spent another hour getting the last one ( 3 achievements in total). They might get some things right, you know, but there is no way they would get everything right, you know? The devil is in the details" - Clark

Game looks and feels amazing but suffers from random crashes, i lost all the progress i made and now contemplating returning the game. SMH
The Best Backrooms Singleplayer. Since Backrooms movie from Kane Parsons released in threaters across all america territory. I had this feeling to being part of the move somehow. I search d several backrooms games on steam, stumble this particular well done either graphics, suspense the expedition is no going that well cuz an external phenomeon drag you out bunch of liminal spaces without any human interaction or communication.
Ah sweet, man-made horrors beyond my comprehension. It took me just under 2 hours to get the first ending and I literally don't wanna play it anymore, it's great, but extremely unsettling and anxiety inducing. The visuals are maybe some of the most realistic I've ever seen in a video game, the atmosphere and sound design are also out of this world. Phenomenal game, never wanna touch it again I'm good.
