About

14th-century Europe. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. It's a moment of weakness - and that's all they needed. Vampires seize their opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they've been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it. Other creatures of the night follow their lead. Legends turn into reality, and history as we know it will never be the same.
You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. Fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?

Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.

Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.

Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.

Defy gravity, become a brutal force of nature, and use your supernatural skills as a vampire. Or raise your sword, and employ powerful magic to take on opponents as a human. Experiment and adapt as your form changes during the day and night; each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Venture through the hand-crafted open world and discover all it has to offer. Roam through the lush forests, the vast plains, the treacherous swamps, the steep mountaintops, and the medieval settlements. Explore forgotten ruins, find remnants of an ancient civilization, and uncover truths that should probably remain hidden.

Experience the beginning of a brand-new saga built with love for the role-playing genre. Immerse yourself in a visually stunning world powered by the next-gen Unreal Engine 5.

Buy it. Ambitious, extremely fun, great systems. Reward a dev who sold you a functional game, at a fair price, without pay to play crap.
So this is the game from the Witcher 3 devs everyone was hyping up. Cool concept, vampires, time pressure, all that. I was excited too. The time limit on the main story is a bold choice. Nothing like building a big detailed world and then punishing the player for looking at it. Every side activity comes with a little voice going "you sure about that?" Very immersive. I love feeling guilty for playing the game. Performance is something else. My rig runs everything I throw at it, but sure, maybe 40 fps with stutters is an artistic decision. And vsync apparently didn't make it into the budget, so you get free screen tearing as a bonus feature. Generous. Then there's the directional combat. Someone clearly played a lot of Kingdom Come and thought "we can do that, but worse." Inputs go wherever they feel like, half the fights are me arguing with the controls instead of the enemy. But hey, at least it looks good in trailers. The premise is actually good and the studio obviously has talent, which somehow makes it more annoying. This could have been great. Maybe in six months and five patches it will be. Until then, wishlist it and let the rest of us beta test. Pros: Witcher 3 pedigree, interesting concept Cons: The main quest timer, the performance, the combat, the missing vsync. So, most of the game part of the game.

Very very good game, it has it's flaws but it's a very creative game especially if you like theme of vampires which of we don't have much in games The most controversial mechanic of the game, the time, everything you do in the game costs you time and you choose how to spend it. It's not stressful as it sounds since when I was left with less than a day I did all main missions, all anger Brencis's court (all as in every single one, not just until they get angry) missions and all important side missions that had yellow mark (yes I ran to every question mark to reveal em all with lvl 1 haste since I didn't want to waste in game time on saving few mins of my irl time) and with what time I had left I did other less important side missions that are more there for the loot aspect. So time mechanic is there to spook you but it's not as scary as it sounds to be, but I do not like that spending points for skills costs you time since it doesn't add any more meaning to the mechanic. It doesn't has you stuck trying to think which ones to get and be smart with it, instead it has you afraid of lvling up and piling up on skill points, as you get stronger you suffer for it instead of feeling rewarded. Other than that I think time mechanic fits perfectly into everything else. Gameplay is mix of Witcher and Kingdom Come Deliverance, a must play for Witcher fans since director and some of the devs actually worked on Witcher 3. Combat ain't anything crazy new but it works and there are really cool and satisfying abilities that you can use. Enemy variety is a bit on lacking side tho, I wish there were more of the enemy types, as in after some time enemies just repeat, could have had Xanthe come up with at least one more abomination for a bit more variety. Combat is like Witcher 3 combat but enchanted and given more to it You have complete freedom, you can just leave everyone behind, feed on ppl mid conversation, do missions in any order you want or not do them, go attack final boss day 1, etc. Freedom of the choices is awesome Switch up between human during the day and vampire during the night is really cool, shadowstep is really fun to use during the night to get to places, during the day you can use witchcraft and swordplay, at the night since for witchcraft you need to give your own blood and as vampire your wounds heal fast so it is impossible to do the hexes so instead you have vampiric abilities and claws (you can still use the sword as vampire but claws are better choice) Story is 10/10, gets you and keeps you in, side stories amazing as well, we need more vampire games and that dawnwalker saga right neow
Controller support is really bad you can’t sprint for 2 seconds without stopping and cutscenes feel like they’re running on 10 fps really bad cutscenes. The game looks good sometimes and has good performance during normal gameplay but other times it feels unfinished like early access games us gamers must find bugs bad optimization and let us test the game for modern developers to truly publish the game after gamers tested their games in an unfinished state. Wait until they give many updates to make the game playable without getting annoying or wait for sale. The game has potential but right now don’t waste your time. It’s just sad how lazy developers are now to test games before publishing it. I love the game it has amazing vibe I just won’t play until the devs fix it after us gamers test it for them then they truly publish the game. The game should have been in Early Access state and a bit cheaper because right now it’s unplayable. Good optimization during gameplay Bad cutscenes 10 fps Bad camera during combat slow annoying animations Really great time mechanic Good and bad graphics the game sometimes look too good and sometimes really bad Interesting story that keeps you interested Controller support non existent don’t even bother because it will make you mad
Personally my favorite game of this year, really love the vampire theme set in 14th-century Europe, we play as Coen someone who has just turned into a vampire and must save their family before they are sacrificed. The game's 30-day mechanic is truly fascinating, at first you might feel rushed because time seems to fly by, but over time, I’ve really gotten used to the mechanic. The combat feels like a mix between Witcher 3 and KCD 2 and I really love it Like most UE5 games, this one is absolute trash when it comes to optimization, even playing on a laptop with a Ryzen 9 8940HX, RTX 5070, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM, I still experience constant stuttering in Svartrau. My advice if you only have 8GB of VRAM, this game isn't for you. The graphics are very good, but the optimization is terrible.
Decent game for me its well optimised, the animations are jank and the graphics somehow look good and bad at the same time. The combat also takes some getting used to, it's like The Witcher mixed with KCD combat. The story and quests seem good so far, possibly wait for a sale if you're not 100% certain you want the game.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ combat, either too easy when fighting 1v1 or impossible due to fighting against the controls and camera with multiple enemies. Oh you just threw sand into a guy's eyes so you can attack him? Actually you should totally go after the other guy that isn't defenceless, thanks camera! This horrible section of the game overshadows the truly interesting story, but I'm just going to go for a cheese witch build since I no longer give a ♥♥♥♥ about the tradeoffs of selling my soul to whatever ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gives me its power, so I don't have to deal with the multi enemy combat controls a second longer than I have to. That's a worthy trade.
First, it's the combat. The auto-targeting is abysmal. Other games target in the exact same way that feel so much better than this, so there's no excuse for it to be so bad. Fighting multiple enemies at once feels horrid because the auto targeting will flicker to things you aren't aiming at, particularly things that are behind what you actually want to hit. And then there's the block / dodge system. As a concept, fine. Other games do it, it works. Here's where this game ♥♥♥♥♥ up: - If you are holding block, you can not dodge. This is basic functionality. While you are holding block, if you press to dodge in a direction, the dodge should cancel your blocking stance and make you dodge. This is a no brainer and it's wild that it made it to release this way. - Stamina exists to limit two things; turtling, and spamming attacks. It serves this purpose well, which again, other games do this. In this game, attacks have virtually zero hit stun. This completely kills offensive momentum. When you attack an enemy and land a hit, they should be briefly stunned/staggered so you can follow up with another hit. The thing that is meant to limit combo chains is either running out of stamina (which then endangers your defense), or being attacked by another enemy from the flank while your guard is down. Some boss enemies have mechanics to also power through spam attacks, unique to each boss. When attacks have no stagger, it makes offense completely suck. After you get in 2-3 attacks, the enemy will just super armor through any hit stun and attack you. Between this and the janky targeting and camera controls in combat, the only viable strategy in combat is to try to perfect dodge and block everything, attack ~2 times, then repeat. Over and over. This is boring, this doesn't feel fun, this isn't well designed. It especially feels bad in combat against multiple enemies, and it especially feels bad with the janky targeting system. Other mechanical flaws: - The movement is generally janky. It feels clumsy and unresponsive. It's not horrendous, but it needs work. - You can not crouch with a weapon drawn. You can not cancel your run into a crouch, either. This is just one of many things that makes movement feel clunky, but at least one I can identify the exact cause of. This game suffers from a lot of coding clumsiness where if you are inputting one command (run) you can not cancel it with another command (crouch). This is the same thing that afflicts the inability to cancel blocking into dodges. - You can press to hold walk (terrible, goofy animation especially when turning), but can't press to hold sprint. Sprinting is toggle only. Why? Every other game has this setting. Let me choose, please. - You shouldn't take fall damage at night. I can teleport everywhere, but if I fall 30 feet, I die. That's very silly. At night, my character should automatically teleport to the ground before impact. - You should be able to drink blood from things that you kill after they are dead. I can maybe understand what they were trying to do here, that they wanted your health to be lowered after combat and not so easy to sustain, but it's just not working and it doesn't make sense. The alternative is running around drinking from deer's, rabbits and rats after combat. That's not fun or satisfying for the vampire fantasy when a fresh corpse is right in front of me to drink from. Having to run around hunting animals just to heal up feels really lame, and like a chore. Stealth: I think a lack of a decent stealth system is the biggest missed opportunity with this game. I just wanted to add this on because I find myself craving it, and I don't find that the game facilitates it in any real way. -- I intend for this to be constructive criticism. I'm not trying to trash the game, I like a lot of parts of it. Great story so far, beautiful world, interesting systems and mechanics, I really like this game for everything other than the combat. And what sucks, is that if the combat is bad in a game like this, it colors the entirety of the game badly. And it's so close to not sucking. With a few minor tweaks, it could be good. So I'm really hoping this kind of feedback helps.
