Terminator: Resistance

I went into this expecting very little licensed games don’t exactly have the best track record but man this game surprised me The game is actually really faithful to the feeling of the first movie acting as a sort of prequel and capturing that atmosphere Some moments even made me laugh to the point my face muscles hurt (two specific scenes people who have played know what im on about) and others were just straight-up badass [spoiler]like storming Skynet’s core with one of those HK tanks while the Terminator theme plays That scene lives rent free in my head now[/spoiler] Gameplay-wise, it’s structured similarly to games like Homefront: The Revolution or Metro Exodus, with multiple semi-open areas rather than one big open world There’s also resource management, crafting, and even a skill tree system, which I didn’t expect for a terminator game but was welcome addition One interesting thing is the difficulty curve it actually gets easier as you progress. Early on, when you first encounter a T-800 without plasma weapons so they can kick your ass quite easily So at first you’re forced to rely on stealth and play super stealth and you can only kill them with explosives or the termination knife But by the end, you can literally one-shot Terminators with a plasma sniper, which feels both hilarious and satisfying The story is also surprisingly strong, it feels close to movie quality at times. It manages to connect itself to Terminator 1 and 2 which is impressive for a smaller game like this. [spoiler]The two sex scenes completely caught me off guard and were the funniest thing ever.[/spoiler] Overall, this is a really good licensed game. I wouldn’t recommend buying it at full price definitely wait for a discount but it’s absolutely worth playing if you’re a Terminator fan

Это было просто шикарно. Да, игра бюджетная, но в ней столько души от разработчиков, которые реально понимали, что есть Терминатор и чего хотели бы фанаты старых частей, имхо. Единственная проблема - это некоторая беда с балансом сложности. Все, кроме максимальной (ну или хотя бы высокой) - ну просто детский сад, на мой взгляд, хах)

Very solid game and a nice love letter to the Terminator franchise. Couple scenes it could've done without though.

Feels similar to Metro last light so far, I like how they leaned into the horror a bit for the terminators. I like it
