It took me 23 relaxing hours to complete the main game on standard difficulty. I have to say, I’m impressed — especially toward the end, the story became really immersive, and I almost wish I hadn’t finished it yet. Terminator Resistance is one of those games that’s delightfully entertaining. Teyon has done a lot of things right here. The combat is absolutely lively, and the selection of weapons is surprisingly large for a game like this. The story is well-told and, to me, makes sense. The various supporting characters provide an even more comprehensive picture of the situation. The missions are divided into open-world-style maps, rush missions where you have to fight your way through enemies under time pressure, and a few arena battles. The variety of mechs and the process of learning their mechanics and movement patterns offer a nice change of pace, and you often have multiple ways to take out enemies. But what makes the game special to me is how Teyon manages to bring the various storylines together at the end and tie them into a grand finale. The supporting characters are so compelling that you really grow attached to them. Yes, the beginning is a bit slow and the weakest part of the game, but once you make it to the hospital and beyond, a lot of things start to make sense and the story picks up steam. From then on, the game is a total breeze. And when you finally reach the end, you find yourself wishing you had a time displacement equipment of your own so you could travel back in time and start the game all over again—without knowing anything that came before.

I've been waiting for such a good Terminator game for very long time! It's a budget stuff, and it shows, but it's a love letter for the Terminator 1 and 2 fans. DLCs are great, too, because you play as Terminator infiltrator (who has the Franco Columbu's face, the actor who played the infiltrator in the original Terminator film, no less!) and along side Kyle Reese, with many situations that reprise the original film's atmospheres. Actually, I'm glad that, there was no Schwarzenegger's involvement: this time, he'd be more of a burden... and would suck up all of budget they've had! However, I find the romantic things between the protagonist and the two female figures in the game out of place. You can also choose not to indulge in advances, because nothing will happen. This thing seems to have been thrown in a bit by force, though. (Like when, in many 80's-90's films, the bed scene was always there...) Otherwise, I highly recommend this game, as it provides movie-like thrills that we continue to revisit and will preserve forever in our hearts.
