About

TaleSpire is a beautiful way to play pen and paper RPGs online. Bring your stories to life and embark upon campaigns together with your friends, regardless of where you are in the world.
With Talespire, the beauty and physicality of tabletop gaming meet the endless possibilities of a digital world. Here you can collaboratively build your worlds without compromising the handcrafted aesthetic of using traditional miniatures.
As a player, you can take on the mantle of multiple heroes and creatures, manage your stats, and express yourself using the growing emote system. Perform dice rolls directly on the board and interact with your environment — at least, as far as your GM will let you!
As a GM, you can dazzle and thrill your friends by building expansive maps, setting up shots, and controlling immersive soundscapes to bring all your delightful and devious designs to life.
TaleSpire is not tied to a specific game or ruleset. Whether you’re running a one-shot or a sprawling campaign, if it's on a square grid then we have your back. We are now in Early Access, so now is your chance to raise up your sword, rally your friends, and take your next adventure online with us.

Setting the stage for your story takes no time at all with Talespire, but even if you forget to prep, it can all be added in while you play. Want to destroy a wall to reveal a secret passage? Do it! Want to rain down piles of gold from the heavens? You have the power. At any moment during your adventure, you (or multiple GMs) can jump into building mode and change the world without interrupting anything else. Our persistent online boards can be created at a moment’s notice, and everything is synchronized in real-time as you dice-roll your way to glory.

It’s dangerous to go alone, but luckily we have a bunch of tools that can help, and all are as pleasing as they are useful. Beautiful dice, rulers and area markers, a range of emotes, and special modes for turn-based combat and cinematic sequences are at your disposal.
Pick from a plethora of pieces to create your scenes! The current roster stands at 280 miniatures, 2100 tiles and props, and 60 unique audio tracks. Our library is ever-expanding; we produce fresh asset packs every month.
TaleSpire boards are designed to be easily shared, whether with friends or with the wider community on sites like TalesBazaar or TalesTavern. You can copy sections of your boards (slabs) and paste them as text outside of TaleSpire. Simply paste the text back into TaleSpire to summon the slab to your hand.
Being in Early Access we still have plenty of adventures ahead of us. We have an active Discord community, which you can find in the social section, and alongside your feedback we’re looking forward to developing the game’s features. So come, journey with us a while.

Отличное приложение, но в связи с блокировкой РКН думал искать что-то новое, но решил написать на почту поддержки игры и мне ответили выслав код установки версии для русского региона, большое уважение разрабам
Overall the game has a lot of potential. I ended up refunding in the end though as I have to buy more within the game so that my players can actually join the campaigns. I could understand if the seats were less expensive, not just $10 than the main game, then it would make sense but $18 so my friends can play with me? The 4 player seat pack is more expensive than the base game. That's absurd. I hope they re-think this model because I really like the way it's set up.

[EN] Bought the game with the intention of providing my players with a cool 3D VTT, but I found out that I have to buy "chairs" in order for them to join the campaigns and that they costs 60% of the original license. Can't recommend until the developer provides a way to allow players to join campaigns for free.
The concept is great. The map building is something you could do just for fun-- and spend hours doing it. Which, if you are actually building maps for a campaign (and not just for wow factor) is a massive time investment. Playing a game on it is rather clunky - no fog of war, awkward camera navigation, and forget players going off script -it is nearly impossible for a DM to improvise a new 3D scene in the middle of a session. While Talespire wins on visuals, it lacks the integration of a 5e system available in other VTTs. Unlike others, which have deep library of systems (D&D, Pathfinder, etc.), TaleSpire is a "dumb" sandbox. It doesn’t know your AC, your feats, or your spell save DC. The WORST thing is --TaleSpire requires EVERY SINGLE PLAYER to buy their own copy! Unlike others where only the DM needs to pay. And everyone will need a high end PC to handle the graphics. No tablet or low-end laptops will do. Talespire is a massive financial investment for a group compared to other online D&D programs (many of which have free tiers), and you're paying more for less functionality and more manual math. Lastly, TaleSpire will not integrate with other games as a mapmaker. There is no official "Export" button in Talespire. Meaining, If i build a fabulous map, I cannot import it to other online platforms natively. I have to use plug ins, or take a top down screenshot, and even then, they do not animate (unless you use a video on loop as a .webm file). There is also the issue of violating TaleSpire's Terms of Service if you attempt to export a 3d model for use elsewhere. Bottom line, this is an expensive "art tool" to make your map's background. There are other map making programs right here on steam that will allow me to build a great animated map, and click "export". The developers made TaleSpire to be a closed system rather than a map-making utility, which prevents it from integrating with industry-standard VTTs. If you are a real TTRPG DM/player, this is not for you. If you just like making pretty maps, cark dungeons, and cool castles, maybe you will like it.
Seats cost way too much. great toolset, but a party of 4+DM pay at least 70€. that's a lot of money for software that has no ruleset integration from any ttrpg.
Pro's: - The medium is cool and pretty simple to use. The 3D aspect is so fun especially if players are not super into theater of the mind. The strongest feature this game has is that assets can be uploaded from things like Heroforge and blender and they become published so even if you don't know how to use that stuff you can use community uploaded assets to make maps. - Cinematic mode where it freezes everyones control, then you can make the players see a preset, pre-setup camera angle and the GM controls the minis for the "cinematic" is just so fun to use. -GM control blocks invisible to the players to quickly control, time of day, music, atmosphere, fog, ambience the whole 9. - If you lack creativity or just don't want to go through the effort of making your own map. There are THOUSANDS of uploaded dungeon pieces, buildings, floors, layouts etc you can just pick up and plop into your game in a pinch. - There is in-game dice that you literally throw and the game logs your rolls. You can save dice combos so if you know you're doing to be using firebolt a lot and are sick of clicking 2 d10's all the time you can just move it into the action bar at the bottom and just click it, dice preloaded. This is helpful later in the game when you're chucking lots of dice. - There are also free in-game plugins called symbiotes and some of them are quite powerful, my personal favourite is the 5e ruleset that allows in-game character sheets and auto rolls when you click on spells just like roll20 and D&D Beyond. Your friends can play in your campaigns for free with the Guest edition. Cons: - Maps take forever to make on your own, - It is quite a pricey entry fee with the game itself being 25 dollars and then to host 4 seats it costs 8-12 dollars a seat. So either your friends can buy talespire themselves or you're forking it out for seats and to be honest, for a player only type of person, it's not really worth buying it themselves, they should just paypal the GM the 12 dollars for their seat. Thankfully the seats can be moved from campaign to campaign and its not restrictive. - The UI is a little unintuitive in a lot of spots but is definitely not impossible to learn - Occasional bugs - can't upload your own soundtracks or sounds like roll20 it's a solid way to play, especially for one-shots with community assets.
Этому приложению нужна возможность подгружать свою собственную музыку, или хотя бы запускать для всех музыку с ютуба.
Foundry VTT is better because you don't to buy "Seats" to play with your friends. Also it's been 5 years and still no native character sheet and 3D model creator.
Pros === Fun to build with, if you like legos or 3d modeling. Visuals and atmosphere keeps players engaged. Talespire makes it possible to build maps a DM could only dream of. Massive, moody sets with way more options for vertical environments and all the possibilities of tactics in 3D space! Changing the "weather", because ramping up the tension with a shift in the atmosphere creates more impactful moments.. Volumetric fog is cool. Cons === Getting all your players to make the purchase is rough. Personally, I think they should have a free "spectator" version, to get people intrigued.
Just use Foundry VTT instead. Didn't realise I would have to pay for each player I want to play with. Greedy devs. Map maker is good. Community content is good. Other useful features are non existent.
