Among the best, if not the best of the Tales of series
A nice game by itself. But the QoL reminds me of why old games are frustrating.
Controls are DOG****. Players in combat move like slugs covered in feces. I'm sure it's a great story but that combat system is the worst.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Tales of Vesperia is probably one of the most recommended games in the Tales series. And you can easily see why when you play it. From a graphical point of view, it still looks decent. Only the animations feel a bit clunky during dialogue scenes, and the effects may not be as flashy. But aside from that, it's a really great JRPG. The story might be on the simpler side, but I like it. A lot of (J)RPGs nowadays try to tell smart and complex stories, but fail and end up leaving the player confused. But not in Vesperia—it's a great adventure from start to finish, where I never felt bored or lost. The character cast is also very likable. Yuri is the GOAT and a true hero. Not to spoil anything, but simply put—he does what needs to be done. Estelle and Rita → so many “te-te” moments. Karol surprised me the most and has some great development. Judith is fun to have around, but she falls a bit flat at a certain point. Raven—that weird guy who suddenly gets a plot twist. Patty is the weakest member of the group and feels somewhat irrelevant. Repede—okay, he’s just a dog, and I really hoped he’d be able to speak—but still, he’s a good boy :) The gameplay/battle system is also a strong point of Vesperia. It’s not overloaded and is kept fairly simple, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t challenging. I think Vesperia also offers some of the best options in the series for setting up your party’s AI. The only thing the game should teach better is the guard cancel trick, which makes battles much more enjoyable and fluid. Honestly, I wish every Tales game had some kind of practice mode (accessible from the title menu), so you could really learn and test things. All in all, Tales of Vesperia is one of the strongest entries in the series and highly recommended. Would it be a great first Tales game? Definitely with one small caveat: you might end up a bit spoiled and have expectations that are too high for the other games in the series. Rating 8/10
Чистый каэф. Только будьте готовы что боссы тут доставляют хлопот
Fantastic game, the artstyle is very cute and thought the combat is kinda simple, it's still very fun.
I beat this game back when it first came out. Replaying it really brings joy to my heart! This game really feels amazing to experience again. All the extra costumes and content are a welcome addition. Excited to try out the new things on this definitive edition!
Yuri might be the goat of tales protagonists
