All Juliette ever wanted was to go back home. With the help of her ghost recording equipment she makes her way through flooded landscapes, buried houses and abandoned apartments. This is calm psychological horror with emphasis on atmosphere.

If you enjoyed the story of the first game and want a continuation of that story then I recommend this one. The story is well written and I enjoyed the ending. However, the gameplay in this one, as others have already mentioned, is on the more passive side. There's no combat, no platforming and not really any puzzle solving either in comparison to the first game. The gameplay here is focused around one thing: exploration. So if you really enjoyed those parts from the first game then I think you might get a bit disappointed, but if you're more inte exploring the story and the world of Sylvio then I think you'll enjoy it. I personally think the combat was a little bit out of place in the first game, but I do miss the puzzles and the platforming.
Major letdown. They stripped out much of what made the first one so unique and compelling. Gone is the compelling desolate landscape of the first. Instead you find coordinates to pilot your ship between mounds of black sludge. And inside each bit of black sludge awaits one of the least compelling aspects of the first game - indoor exploration. You make a beeline from orb to orb, listen to recordings (or video recordings, the one new aspect), perform the audio trawling that was so unique in the first go-round, and...that's it. It all feels so linear and boring. Gone are the enemies, gone are the puzzles, gone is the potato gun. And to cap it all off the ending reveal is beyond ridiculous. From the heights of the first one to this shocking low, it's puzzling to see just how wrong they went on this one. Avoid.

This is my first Steam review and I was compelled to write it after playing Sylvio 2 and actually being angry for having wasted 5.2 hours of my life on it. As other reviewers have made very clear, there is absolutely nothing in this game that touches upon the brilliance of the first game. If even the return of the beautiful female voice of the original game was worth a play through, but it's not. Even her narration has lost its previous appeal. To add insult to injury, the ending is possibly the most ridiculous video game ending I have ever seen. Really. It's a total shame, because after the first game, I would have been willing to support the creators, but after this shambles of a game, I'll think twice about buying another game from them. Save your money and buy the the first Sylvio if you haven't yet.
Hmmmm Im a bit conflicted giving Sylvio 2 a thumbs up because its a horrible sequel to the fantastic Sylvio 1, but even so, I believe strongly in Stroboscop (the dev), this game was just an unfortunately fail to reach the crowdfunding goal but even so, I hope well get to see more and better games like the Sylvio series had to offfer.
Personally, I really enjoyed this game. I'm sure the change in gameplay is not to a lot of people's taste, and it is not as great as the first one. Yes, it's very slow-paced. Yes, the ending is a bit odd and not at all what I was expecting (though I would argue that it does connect to the first game and line up with the hints in this one just fine). But I had a lot of fun with it. I think if you go into it expecting a mirror of the first game, you'll be disappointed. On the other hand, if you think you'd enjoy a walking simulator with a creepy horror atmosphere, no jump scares, and a mission to tease out every clue you can about the spirits, their lives and their deaths, then it's well worth a playthrough.
Personally I really loved this game (as well as the first). It had the same quirky yet creepy atmosphere that drew me into its predecessor. I was originally put off by its mixed reviews but ended up being pleasantly surprised! Exploring the houses and buildings of this strange dead world and recording and listening to the voices of its long gone inhabitants felt so unique and unlike anything I'd ever played, even including the original.
ending? what even. boring, a grind, story is questionable, disappointing compared to the 1st game. You are better off just skipping this. gloomy depressing game
