In this game, you play as a newly elected president of a country in a world resembling the Cold War era, where two superpowers—liberal and socialist—are competing. You must also think about strategies to deal with neighboring states, including a large kingdom that may potentially swallow your nation. During your presidency, you not only have to manage the affairs of the state but also handle issues involving your family, friends, and ministers. They all have their own personalities and aspirations, which significantly influence the governance of the country. Other challenges you must face include dealing with factions and political parties within the nation: former presidents and generals who remain highly influential, business elites pushing for liberalization and privatization, youth groups with socialist ambitions, ethnic minorities seeking independence, and more. Your presidency can suddenly end for various reasons—electoral defeat, foreign invasion, or assassination. At the end of the game, an analysis of your presidential ideology will be displayed along two axes: liberal–autocratic and market economy–state economy. What I like about this game is its very realistic setting, which portrays the socio-political problems faced by a country: conflicting world ideologies, economic decisions, education, healthcare, population issues, as well as historical and religious legacies.

A fun political thriller with plenty of alternate paths. The Rizia DLC is an enormous improvement over the base game, too, elevating it from a fun choose-your-own-adventure story into a deeper and richer experience with new mechanics. Definitely worth your time.
Like Victoria III except very few annoyances like Shouty Choir.mp3 or Ride Forth Diabolically.mp3. I enjoyed the intro character choices, some quite poignantly delivered. Very nice all in all.
Had a lot of fun with this game. Its well written and intelligent for the most part, has a interesting story and a very immersive fictional world. Decisions are difficult and have very harsh consequences, the more you progress, the more you understand. You can't really have everything, if you invest in one place, you lose the ability to strenghten another, you put out a fire somewhere and you start another somewhere else. Had kind of a bad ending but I got hooked into the game all the way. Replayability is a bit hard in my opinion though, since it's a such a chore to go through all the dialogues again, even though in a game like this you would most likely want to go over decisions again to see different outcomes.
I love the premise of Suzerain: a politically charged visual novel where you lead a fictional country resembling mid-20th-century Turkey and shape its alternate history. The writing is gripping, full of twists, and highly replayable. I’m looking forward to future DLC.
Great game. I failed all of my campaign promises, crashed the economy into a great depression, engaged in corruption and nepotism, then fled the country before impeachment. 10/10 Realism. Yep, I think this is exactly how it would go if I was president of a small country. At least I survived. lol.
Very fun and in depth political game that really makes think. will definitely be coming back for repeat playthroughs.
