Amazingly BAD
Bit of a learning curve if you're used to classic zombie shooter/survival games but enjoyable once you get into it.
game had so much potential but it would *appear* the dev took the money and ran, abandoning the game. Don't recommend purchasing at this time.
My favourite zombie game so far, only wish it was Multiplayer
If you spend even five minutes looking at what players are actually saying on Reddit and the Steam forums, the illusion completely shatters, exposing Surrounded for the frustrating, half-baked mess that the community is utterly exhausted of dealing with. The game is stuck in an endless early-access purgatory where the core mechanics actively fight the player at every turn. Instead of delivering meaningful expansions or addressing long-standing technical disasters, the development cycle is defined by a cynical drip-feed of microscopic, low-effort patches. This transparent strategy feels deliberately orchestrated to keep the store page algorithm active and the buy-ins flowing, prioritizing a slow extraction of cash over actually delivering a functional product. The moment-to-moment gameplay is entirely undermined by floaty, fundamentally broken combat and incredibly lazy enemy design. Melee strikes feel completely weightless, acting as a frustrating gamble against hitboxes that rarely register accurately. The zombie AI is either entirely brain-dead, pathfinding in mindless straight lines, or it simply clips through physical barriers to land cheap, unavoidable hits on the player. Trying to actually survive and engage with the world feels like swinging through molasses, stripping away any potential horror or tension and replacing it with pure, mechanical annoyance that makes the game a chore to play. Even if you manage to tolerate the combat, the game fundamentally disrespects your time by constantly breaking its own progression systems. Players regularly log in to find entire world states arbitrarily reset, rare bunker keycards consumed into the void while doors magically re-lock themselves, and characters permanently trapped inside glitched vehicle physics. Making matters worse, the base building and inventory management are administrative nightmares; trying to construct a simple shelter becomes an infuriating hassle because every wall and floor piece highlights and gets accidentally picked back up just by walking past it, with zero sensible snapping or management tools to fix the mess. The community sentiment has shifted from hopeful patience to justified hostility because everyone realizes this is essentially an early-access hostage situation. Players feel actively scammed watching fundamental, game-breaking bugs persist for months while the developer pushes out minor, trivial updates just to simulate active development and milk a few more sales. It is a masterclass in how to squander community goodwill through apathy and greed, leaving long-time supporters holding the bag for a survival game that will clearly never realize its potential under this predatory roadmap.
Игра очень интересная, полностью оправдала цену, залип на +-20 часов, много что можно исследовать. Да, безусловно не хватает мультиплеера, что немного расстраивает. Жду релиза и мультиплеера, а так-же продвижение лора.
