Everyone in this game has an absolute dump truck ass
This is far and away my favorite baseball game since MVP 2005. Really the only thing missing is some sort of "farm system" in franchise mode, other than that, its essentially all here. The actual gameplay and ball physics are astonishing good. Better than a lot of newer AAA titles. The game is super customizeable allowing you to tweak the game to your liking and to your skill level. After 200+ hours I still play at a 65 ego (ego= difficulty) and have to have a good roster in order to win consistently at that level, the game goes up to 100 ego, so I still have plenty of room to grow and will be hundreds of hours more before the game becomes "too easy" for me at max difficulty... plus there is always multiplayer for an additional challenge against human opponents. Also there is a team, league and player creator which allows you to customize EVERY aspect of your franchise. All my 200 hours have been in multiplayer or in single player franchise leagues that I built from the ground up. One league I based around a choose your own adventure baseball book I read as a child that had fictional teams, and had fictional season stats for the players, I built the teams from the book and based each player on the stats from the book in order to create them, so Harold Carlson was my speedy, high contact, low power leadoff man, Ed Neighbor was my crafty veteran ace who used to be a fastballer but has had to rely on his breaking pitches as he has aged.... etc. etc. etc. There is just hours of fun to be had in this game in a multitude of ways. There is a flavor for EVERYONES tastes and its finally a baseball game that you can curtail EXACTLY to your liking. Worth the price 100%.

13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Aug 20: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

This is one of the best series of baseball games ever made. I cant wait for EA to ruin it.
Man, I dunno. I've got a bunch of hours in SMB2 and SMB3 is so similar in most ways that it just feels like the same game again. I've gotten very disillusioned with the Ego system. "If the game's too hard, just tick down the difficulty by a few points until it gets too easy". This isn't a fun way to play a video game. When I succeed, it doesn't feel like a victory. It just feels like I put the difficulty maybe a few points too low. Having to set your difficulty out of 100 is just silly, there's far too many options. I wish there were more tools to get better at the game too.
Haven't had this much fun playing a baseball video game since I was a kid playing MVP Baseball 2004.
This game looks really silly on the surface, but the controls are crazy tight and skill based. Like a perfect mix between Backyard Baseball and MLB The Show
Take it from a guy that played all the baseball games from Intellivision to Super Nintendo to Xbox One, this game is great! Many hours of enjoyment and configuration options for all players. Highly recommend.
Whether you small-ball 4 runs over 8 batters or hit that grand salami; or you turn a sweet double-play or stack up 6 Ks in a row; every aspect of baseball is done supreme justice in this impeccable sports game. Even losing is fun. As I've played I've had to change my thoughts on a couple of things, so here's some tips once you've bought the game. Some might be obvious if you've played baseball before, and some if you've played video games before, but I think this game appeals to everyone and not baseball fans or video game players alone. 1. Keep your Ego low until you can actually hit. And I don't mean home-runs, I mean Hits. If you can't even get on first then you're not gonna have fun, which is how baseball works. Keep your strike zone on screen (using your imagination), don't swing at everything, and hit the ball where the fielders ain't. And don't forget to bunt, which I do too often: if bunting worked for Ichiro, it'll do for anyone at all. 2. On the other side, learn to field properly. There are some hard-coded Error probabilities in the game (not a lot; enough to break your heart when it wants to), but the vast majority of times the actual run-scoring errors have been on my end. Letting a run score cause you tried to turn a double-play when there's already 2 Outs is utterly low-IQ, but in the heat of the moment it happens. Same with base-running: sometimes you think it's a triple when it's a single and you feel like a moron. Familiarize yourself with the 'default intelligent play' for each situation, and develop the instinct (AKA 'game-sense') for it -- but that won't happen if you're not thinking at all about what that would be. 3. Don't use the automatic swing/pitch button, but learn to use the power-gauge button (I forget what these are called -- you'll know what I mean), if only because you actually have more fun that way. You just don't feel the weight of the swing when you're tapping a button. 4. The Ego rank names are actually very accurate. "50" isn't "average difficulty", it's legitimately Hard. Don't scale it up like mad and then get angry for losing -- start at 20, or 10 if you need to. (0 does seem a bit much.) Once you can comfortably win with a 3-6 run margin, scale it up. I'm currently at 60 and win/loss at roughly .500 but started at 25 and closer to .100, so you definitely get better at the game. Also note that you can change the Ego of various mechanics (Hitting/Fielding/Pitching) independently: the game is literally begging you to take control, and tailor your experience so you have the most fun. 5. Part of this tailoring is to find a good team for yourself. I like the Freebooters, cause I like pitching. They're slow as ♥♥♥♥ and score runs only when you hit accidental doubles, but they get Ks. You're playing a game of attrition. Other teams require stealing bases, others homers: like I said, you tailor the game to your style, and almost no limitation is set in SMB3 on that count. 6. Speaking of teams, play one of the other modes and don't stick to Exhibition games. One-off games are easy to launch and a short time-commitment, but sports are about investment. Once you know "your team", learn the strengths and weaknesses of your players; get them through injuries and bad mentalities. It's more fun that way. It's more baseball that way. 7. That said, DON'T be intimidated by the many modes, or all the other "hard baseball simulation" facets of the game. If you download the Demo, just play Beewolves Versus Sirloins and learn to whack the ball. If you buy the game, don't worry about the player stats and the team stats and the game modes and the yada-yada until you've gotten involved enough that you become naturally curious about how they help you play better. Which, of course, will happen because this is a great baseball sim in addition to the sheer arcadey joy of swinging, missing, hitting, etc. I don't get to play as much of this game as I'd like, so these are only beginner tips. But if they can help you get a foothold in this spectacular game, then my job here is done. Call me back when the Angels trade Ohtani.
This game is great! I`ve owned the two previous games but neither of them struck me quite like this one has. In fact, no other sports game has ever struck me like this game. I`m the kind of person who buys sports games to create my own custom league and teams and watch the cpu play each other. I rarely ever play in the games myself. This game started the same way, but once I actually learned how to play it and the mechanics behind batting, pitching, fielding, etc. I actually love playing this game in franchise mode. My favorite feature is probably being able to customize the difficulty of every skill. I am a much better batter, pitcher, and runner than I am a fielder, so I can have the difficulty set higher on everything except fielding and it really allows me to have a great fun/challenge balance where I`m not winning everything but I`m not losing everything either. Franchise mode is a blast, and it really makes the game feel more realistic and dare I say story driven as of all of the players have their own lives separate from what you control. The main changes I would like to see in SMB4 is better/more face customization (it is very difficult to make asian-looking players which is a big deal if you have as many anime-based teams as I do, not to mention Shohei Ohtani), the addition of multi-year contracts, and the addition of user-controlled replays (so I can see where the bat hits the ball, replay exciting plays, etc.
I made a comment earlier tonight that I guess went out over the air that I am deeply ashamed of. If I have hurt anyone out there, I can't tell you how much I say from the bottom of my heart I'm so very, very sorry. I pride myself and think of myself as a man of faith, as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that'll be a home run. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame. I don't know if I'm going to be putting on this headset again. I don't know if it's going to be for the Reds. I don't know if it's going to be for my bosses at Fox.
