Reviews
I wish the sun would never set in Sunset City. This game is nothing short of amazing; it's one of, if not the best, Insomniac Games has to offer. The game prioritizes fun to the point it can be a little unbalanced and even cause pacing issues if you're not into the story and vibe of the game. Regardless, it has amazing open-world traversal with a crowd control gameplay loop. The positives * Amazing open-world traversal * Colorful art style * Plentiful optional arsenal * Humor is just good enough to put a smile on your face but never overbearing The negative * Can be boring if you're not into collectathons * Mission structure could be a little interesting; most are very go there, kill, or collect. * DLCs are ok; kinda wish they would go more crazy with them. We deserve the sequel; unfortunately, I don't think we will ever get one, as you can tell, the game is rushed in very few but notable aspects, especially in the DLC section. Also, the OG Xbox version has online; this one, however, does not. It's not perfect, but man, it's very addicting once you get the hang of it. Easily an "8/10" game for me.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 18: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

idk why but it wont run on my steamdeck anymoe
Within the meager time I played, the game both crashed and corrupted the save.
This is marvel's spider man but if it was not mid. While Peter Parker is busy crying about his responsibilities and dealing with "realistic" physics, Sunset Overdrive is busy actually having fun. finally a game that is actually fun and does not feel like doing a chore.
Verdict
✅ Recommended A fun, stylish, fast-paced open-world action game that is still worth trying.
My history with the game
I finished Sunset Overdrive on Steam in 7 hours. This was one of those games I wanted to play back when the Xbox One launched in 2014, but I did not own an Xbox One at the time. Now, in 2026, I finally got to experience it on PC. After all these years, I am glad I finally played it.
Quick signals
💸 Value: ✅ Worth trying 🖥️ Requirements: ✅ Runs well 🎨 Graphics: ✅ Colorful and stylish ⏱️ Length: ✅ 7 hours for my playthrough 📖 Story: ✅ Fun and does not drag 🎮 Gameplay: ✅ Fast, chaotic, and movement-focused 🐛 Bugs: ✅ No major issues for me
What I liked
* The game is colorful, energetic, and has a strong personality. * The story does not drag and stays entertaining enough. * The movement is the best part: grinding, jumping, bouncing, and constantly staying in motion. * The gameplay and traversal reminded me a lot of Spider-Man. * Since this is an Insomniac Games title, it really feels like a good predecessor to their later Spider-Man games. * The world is fun to move through, and the game knows exactly what kind of chaotic arcade experience it wants to be. * I had a good time with it during my 7-hour playthrough.
What didn’t work for me
* I probably will not replay it again. * The game is fun, but not something that left a huge emotional impact on me. * Some of the humor and style may not work for everyone. * It feels more like a very enjoyable one-time ride than a game I would return to often.
Is it an endless game? How long to beat?
No, this is not an endless game. I finished it in 7 hours. If you focus more on side content, challenges, collectibles, and exploration, it can take longer.
Who will love it
You will probably enjoy Sunset Overdrive if you like fast movement, colorful open worlds, chaotic action, arcade-style shooting, and games with a lot of energy. Fans of Insomniac's Spider-Man games may also find it interesting, because you can clearly feel some early DNA here.
Replay value
Replay value is decent if you enjoy the movement, side activities, and chaotic gameplay. For me personally, one playthrough was enough. I enjoyed it, but I do not really see myself replaying it again.
Final note
Sunset Overdrive is a fun game that I wanted to try since the Xbox One era. I finally played it in 2026, finished it in 7 hours, and had a good time. It is not a game I will probably return to, but I am glad I experienced it. Recommended to everyone who wants to try a colorful, fast, movement-heavy action game.
Sunset Overdrive has been a special game to me ever since I first picked it up on Xbox nearly 10 years ago, and I still remember buying it without really knowing what to expect. Recently, I saw it on Steam and decided to pick it up again, and it reminded me just how fun and unique it really is. The movement is what really stands out; grinding across rails, bouncing off cars, and constantly staying in motion makes the gameplay feel fast and smooth, and it rewards you for being creative instead of just standing still. The over the top weapons and chaotic fights against the OD keep things exciting, while the bright, colorful art style and humor give the game a ton of personality. Coming back to it after all this time, it still holds up to modern standards. Absolutely nothing feels out of place, and even the jokes are still funny and not outdated. As a completionist, this was one of the more fun games to 100% nothing felt overly complicated or difficult, and achievements never felt frustrating to get. Time trials and missions are replayable, so there’s no worry about missing anything due to story progression. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s exactly what makes it so memorable. Even after all these years, it still stands out as something different, and it’s a game that has stuck with me for a long time.
x-- 5/10 --x My save got corrupted three times...
O gameplay é onde ele realmente se destaca. A movimentação é o coração do jogo.
The game didn't make the best first impression. Before launch, I got a warning that my PC specs didn't meet the requirements. After starting the game, I was greeted with a message about a corrupted save file. Clicking that save slot even caused a crash. I disabled cloud saves and followed a guide, but one empty corrupted save slot remained permanently. Fortunately, that was the only issue. I simply used a different save slot and completed the entire game without crashes. Achievements unlocked normally and the game ran well. As a completionist, I appreciated that you can buy collectible maps, so there is less need to constantly check guides. There are also plenty of weapons, character customization options, perks and different build combinations to experiment with. The soundtrack is great. I wasn't a fan of traversing the city at first, but once I got used to the movement system, it became one of my favorite parts of the game. After finishing the main story, you return to the open world and can continue with the DLC content. Despite the strange corrupted save file bug, I had a good time with the game.
