Very beautiful game. I enjoyed my time with this one even if the performance wasn't great with it being an ue5 game and all.

A must play for horror fans or frankly any fan of interactive fiction. This one will stay with you. Some of the best vocal performances I've heard in any game and arguably the most naturalistic dialog of any game to date. Superb visuals that strained my 1080Ti to breaking point, but will give me an excuse to revisit this in a ray-traced future. I can see a counter argument that it's a lot of "Go here, do that" and yellow-blazed environmental following, but neither aspect is unique to this game. Go here looking for a great story and you won't be disappointed. Come here for gameplay and you're looking at the wrong genre. I don't know how well this game did commercially. It seemed to come-and-go and I picked it up a couple of years after release for a steal. But I certainly hope we'll see more from this creative team.

My crappy PC had a hard time running this game, so some of its beauty are lost to me. I digress. I thoroughly enjoyed the intro. It sets the scene and it is a unique setting that would make a city guy find interesting. Somehow I avoided the spoilers so I didn't know we are doing supernatural stuff, so it was a genuine surprise. The beginning part is truly nervewrecking, since I really dont know what to expect. But as the action buttons and visual ques start to get familiar, it is just rushing this segment towards the next with yet another convenient encounter telling me where to go to. I do like the ending though, giving it an emotional touch, yet I do have to say the story bits that I got doesn't really make me that invested. I could feel it sad once I emphasise on being stranded like that, but oh well, it is a survival horror game. I wasn't counting on a happy ending either way. The good points are the voice acting really. Very genuine from all the characters. It helps sell the horror. But plot-wise, I have to say that if it was me, I would have NOPE so hard and not even take that first detour after the event strikes. And the horror keeps stacking up and I am desensitised and find myself yell at MC whenever he was scared and I'd be like, you're fine!!! Get your ass up!!! Move!!! And during later segments I just turn my brain off and accept that I am once again being asked to go this place and run from this monster. I think the story being linear does dampen my feeling of agency. By the end I was like "Go off girl do what you want" and wasn't even trying to chase her down. That being said, it is a solid game. And I think it is a memorable one. But I guess with this stella voice acting and setting up emotional beats, I might enjoy a game that is just a slice-of-life stimulator. Would actually be a nice touching marriage story, I think.
