Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 6.71/day in the week to Aug 22 → 12.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I hate to say it because I normally like the Chinese Room but I really don't get the appeal of this one at all. I'm seeing lots of praise directed at the story, but aside from the opening and ending sequences, there's practically no story to speak of aside from go here, fix thing, answer phone, repeat. The characters do not have meaningful interactions with each other, they just serve as objective givers. When they die or become monsters, I did not care because I did not know them. Even the main character, who at least had his vaguely-mentioned connection to his daughters, I just did not connect with at all. And I had recently become a father when I played this for the first time, so that's really saying something. This is just a huge step down narratively from all the other Chinese Room games I've played, which I have actually liked. I like walking simulators, I like cosmic horror, I like boats and the ocean, and I like story-driven games. But, like I said, there's really no story at all here, unless you count repairing various sections of a sinking oil rig to be story. AMFP at least had a mystery and lore that revealed itself as you went around repairing things. This is literally just surface-level, what you see is what you get. The graphics and voice acting are nice, but not enough for me to say that I enjoyed it. Mediocre at best and bafflingly overhyped.

If you love lovecraftian stuff, this game is like colour out of space on steroids, where you are stuck on an oil rig, and ur scottish
It's neutral for me, a lot of people can probably enjoy it but it isn't my taste.. Really interested in the creature but everything else is kind of meh and unimmersive so far. This goes from things like most problems having very linear solutions, your run being walking but with flopping your arms in front of you (basically told me that rushed escapes aren't really a thing and it is all timing, killing a lot of suspense), many problems that my player ran into had obvious solutions that I wasn't allowed to take (climbing over a fence instead of jumping over a 40 ft drop), never being able to grab a weapon in a clearly hostile environment (I can accept it not being helpful, but you're telling me that you wouldn't even try to grab a crowbar or anything). There are smaller things too like the subtitles not matching the dialogue. Logical consistency is a big thing for me in horror type movies and games, so IDK if I will finish this one.
Seemingly unplayable in 2026, Fatal Error crashes, even with the -dx11 workaround, and when the game runs for a couple minutes at a time, it runs at about 15fps on my beast of a gaming machine. Literally unplayable, I'll watch it on youtube since it's up my alley of lovecraftian horror, such a shame. Seems like a very common issue with the game, can't believe this hasn't been addressed in the past couple years.
Read this in Scottish accent Glad I ignored the sh𝒊te reviews. Do nae listen tae aw the moaning in the reviews and gave this one a bash. Cracking story, solid characters and Those things runnin' aboot the rig are pure nightmare fuel and had me sh𝒊ting masel every time they showed up The story's aboot human greed. Some daft bastards went pokin' and drillin' where they shouldnae have, and everybody else ended up payin' the price for it.
The more ye play, the more ye realise there was never gonnae be a happy ending. The end's a right gut punch. Sad as hell, but it felt honest and made perfect sense.
this is so dissapointing and im honestly pissed, cant play the GAME. everytime i load it up, it just crashes and says "fatal error" even after reinstalling to multiple different drives and verifying the game file integrity doesn't change anything. waste of money and clearly the devs arent going to fix this.
A beautiful, story focused, horror experience that combines the terror of the open ocean with a narrative about pushing through obstacle after obstacle to return to your family alive. The voice acting was a stand-out piece for me, with even side characters having amazing performances, and also surprisingly fluid and satisfying platforming moments. This is a game I would highly recommend and will be thinking about for a long time.
