About
The city burns and bleeds as it suffers the madness of King Louis XVI and his violent legions of automatons. Aegis, a mechanical masterpiece created by the engineer Vaucanson to be the queen's bodyguard, must save the French Revolution in this challenging action-RPG.
Up against the king's mechanical soldiers, deadly accuracy will be needed. String together dodges, parries, jumps and devastating attacks to fight your way through Paris. Every fight will test your nerve and requires excellent discipline, while the huge relentless machine bosses demand patience and skill.
Define your own style and upgrade your abilities as you progress through the game. You can play as a ruthless warrior, a hard-hitting bodyguard, a deadly dancer or a virtuoso of the elemental arts. Take advantage of a wide variety of weapons and skills to approach each fight in your own unique way.
Using carriages, grapples, secret passages, a detailed map, and other methods and tools you find along the way, explore a city experiencing its darkest days. Your grappling hook adds a new dimension to exploration and Paris's verticality. Combined with your dash ability, it will provide access to all the city's secrets across multiple levels you can explore over and over again.
You are one of the main characters of an alternative history where Paris is being choked by a tyrant king. Allies and enemies with unclear motives will cross your path, such as Marie-Antoinette, Lafayette and Robespierre. It's up to you to cut a path through all the plotting and put an end to one man's madness so that the French Revolution succeeds.

I played it through, did dlc and planned to go to a secret area that I read about after completing the game. It has now been 3 months and I still haven't. So yeah, maybe I'll slap the review down, I doubt my view of the game changes with it. Like, I won't accomplish anything important or miss much, it was apparently some bits of lore, mostly gameplay, no boss. And I'm starting to forget the finer points of this game. See, I got an old Switch and been playing Nintendo. Nobody cares about this, ON WITH THE REVIEW. This is a action-rpg that resembles very much a certain well-known franchise, but is also very different. The most important being the movement. A fight is a dance of death, very dynamic and flowing. Our dancer glides over the field, doesn't roll like a barrel, but gracefully avoids. Oh, the attack animations, Oh, the movement while traversing, OH main character animation in general. Well, our Aegis is an automaton dancer, so it's expected and they have done it VERY well. Can confess, I kept moving and jumping and climbing just to marvel at the animation work that has been put to the protagonist. Lots of subtle stuff that you can miss if you just ram forward. The games atmosphere is excellent and the game looks absolutely beautiful. It is set in France late 1700's, is somewhat historical with lots of ingenuity put to the workings of enemies and the premise. Which is that a genius inventor has made automatons, clockwork beings that can be used in many things and don't need to be wound up. How, you ask? Well, I urge you to play the game and see for yourself. Gameplay is familiar to many, every fight counts. You have two loadouts and you get Anima essence from enemies that you can use to level up etc. Basic stuff. BUT your weapons don't break and the mechanics are very easy to understand and use. This is not a complex game, LOVE IT. I actually didn't even realize it until the late game, but I played this on "easy mode". STOP, don't worry, there is no difficulty setting, it's same for everybody. I just used a dlc-weapon for most of the run, which is okay by me. I got the story and a bit of a challenge. Actually, it doesn't help you much in the beginning of the game obviously as the player has limited capabilities, but as you progress and acquire more tools and spend your anima in the right places it does become quite op. You can do powerful physical combos and staggering projectiles with the same weapon. Sidenote for reference: I played Dark Souls remastered on switch for 3 hours which point I realized I wasn't having fun and have not touched it since. It wasn't really that difficult but the gameplay was like swimming in tar. Then to the not so good stuff. This game does not like overlays, this game does not like you tweaking graphics settings while running. This game likes for you to just boot the game, not change anything, not to be social while you play, just play. I use amd overlay to check framerates and such when I'm setting my game up and this likes to crash. so lastly I found my settings, quitted (or crashed, I don't remember), booted the game and didn't touch anything. Then it worked flawlessly. Maybe it was just my setup but I've seen some posts on forums about this and it seems to be more normal than not. Oh, and it doesn't like resolution scaling, if you want to play on any other res than your monitor native, it will crash. I set my windows res on the one I wanted and it worked. So some stuff, yeah, not a biggie. Your system will most likely do better than mine, I have a somewhat peculiar setup but it has worked on everything else so far, so I don't know. So quirks, but the game itself is very good. Good story, excellent gameplay, excellent animations, looks beautiful and I had fun playing this. At the time of writing, the summer sale of 2026 is going on and you can get this for a lowlow price of 4,99€. Just saying.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Amazing Souls-like, fun gameplay, story is fun so far (not amazing tho). The only downside is probably enemy variety.
Basically a budget feeling Lies of P. It isn't bad, it isn't amazing. It's a little on the easy side, or at least it felt like it to me. I'm unsure if that was just the nature of the build I went with, but I've never beat a final boss in a souls-like game without getting hit on my first attempt until this game.
Jogo com boa jogabilidade e enredo.
Beautiful, Lies of P but different setting.
