About
The city burns and bleeds as it suffers the madness of King Louis XVI and his violent legions of automatons. Aegis, a mechanical masterpiece created by the engineer Vaucanson to be the queen's bodyguard, must save the French Revolution in this challenging action-RPG.
Up against the king's mechanical soldiers, deadly accuracy will be needed. String together dodges, parries, jumps and devastating attacks to fight your way through Paris. Every fight will test your nerve and requires excellent discipline, while the huge relentless machine bosses demand patience and skill.
Define your own style and upgrade your abilities as you progress through the game. You can play as a ruthless warrior, a hard-hitting bodyguard, a deadly dancer or a virtuoso of the elemental arts. Take advantage of a wide variety of weapons and skills to approach each fight in your own unique way.
Using carriages, grapples, secret passages, a detailed map, and other methods and tools you find along the way, explore a city experiencing its darkest days. Your grappling hook adds a new dimension to exploration and Paris's verticality. Combined with your dash ability, it will provide access to all the city's secrets across multiple levels you can explore over and over again.
You are one of the main characters of an alternative history where Paris is being choked by a tyrant king. Allies and enemies with unclear motives will cross your path, such as Marie-Antoinette, Lafayette and Robespierre. It's up to you to cut a path through all the plotting and put an end to one man's madness so that the French Revolution succeeds.

Reviews
A good game that costs a bit too much for what it is. The setting is rarely covered and has an interesting twist. The characters are believable in their behaviour. The mechanics play nicely with what the game poses as challenges. Bosses are a bit too easy at times. Overall, it's a pretty good package, but only on sale.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Fun to play. Beautiful setting, the old Paris is quite a sight.
Rating: 7/10. Steel rising is a fantastic game. I loved the exploration and the story. You can dodge or parry depending on the weapon you are using. The combat felt fluid with agility weapon but the heavy weapons felt bit too clunky. In the end, Aegis made a lasting impression on me. The main problem of this game are the boss fights. I don't think I have died to the main bosses more than a couple of times altogether. Other than that, the side quest can be very very difficult to finish because even a small mistake can fail the quest and moreover, you have to do it in certain order or else you will miss it. Following a guide is a must for platinum in a single playthrough.
Recommended for any soulslike enjoyers. This game goes for pretty cheap now constantly and punches well above its weight. The only glaringly obviously issue is how janky your attack animations seem to be. Dont be fooled by them though, the gameplay is actually quite smooth. It's a bit on the easier side, one might even call it Soulslike comfort food. It's a shame we likely won't be seeing a sequel. Extremely unfortunate that this was released later in the same year as Elden Ring. Good - Weapons are some of the most unique in the genre - Level design is enjoyable - Mob placement doesnt suffer from modern soulslike spam syndrome - Real life locations and characters - Robots Bad - Environments look super dated and samey. Youre right how varied can you really make areas of Paris but I did find myself getting Paris street fatigue - Despite nerfs to player and buffs to enemies in patches over the years, it's still somewhat easy
A decent Souls-like overall. I wouldn't say this is a must-play though. It's definitely on the easier side, especially if you use a heavy weapon build, which can keep even the main bosses stunned for most of the fight. I did a run with lighter weapons, and the game became considerably more challenging. The story and setting are pretty interesting, although I found the ending somewhat underwhelming. 100% completion: My first playthrough was completely blind and played through it with a heavy weapon build. Then completed one NG+ run, which introduces a few new enemy types and additional movesets, though nothing particularly interesting in my opinion. Finally, I did one more clean run for the achievement requiring you to complete the game without using any healing items. This was quite challenging, especially since I wasn't using a heavy weapon build.
Ta wapo la verdad
Good and time consuming.
