About

An entire universe awaits you in Stars Reach. In this science-fantasy MMORPG, you'll visit strange, new worlds, become an explorer, and build a life on planets that react to everything you do. Your choices will change your world. And, you'll do it with every other player on a single server. Leave your mark on the galaxy!
Each world responds to your actions. A deep, reactive simulation allows water to flow naturally, forests to burn, and lava to harden into new materials and land masses. From lush forests to winding rivers to perilous mountains, every planet has its own ecosystems, resources, and challenges. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you, how wildlife reacts, and ultimately which settlements prosper.
Planets are living systems. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you. Climate changes, creatures migrate, disasters strike, and the world reacts in ways you can’t fully control.
Travel through wormholes to discover new worlds, explore, build, survive, and thrive. Every planet begins untouched. What it becomes is up to you.
Master one of dozens of skill paths, and live the galactic life you’ve always dreamed. Whether you want to protect settlers as a ranger, build a trade empire, or offer your services as an architect, Stars Reach offers many skill paths that allow you to chart a course through space that fits your play style. There are different weapons to master. There’s a career path just for you in Stars Reach.
You’re not locked into any single playstyle. Experiment with different skill paths and find the combination that suits you best. Build your own class from different skill sets and define your role in the galaxy.
Your first steps onto a new world take you far beyond the familiar. You’ll need to adapt to your surroundings by learning to survive. Every skill path has accompanying equipment, which you’ll gain proficiency with by using those tools.
More importantly, your contributions to the community will increase your proficiency. A camp you build will earn you experience when others rest at it. Community means survival, and we’ve built Stars Reach to support pro-social behavior and limit the ability for other players to ruin your experience through griefing.
You can build a cozy cottage on a remote hill, and carve out a living by yourself. But if you crave community, team up to build settlements and cities, shape how they grow, and decide how they are governed.
Team up and claim a large plot of land that isn’t just a home base. You and your friends can cluster your homesteads, build a community, and govern together.
The resources you gather can be sold in a unified galactic economy driven by players. Or, you can use them to craft tools and technology to supply distant worlds with vital goods necessary for their survival.
Trade with players across the galaxy, specialize in what you make, and become a master of your craft and earn renown across the galaxy.
Your choices determine what comes next.
Cities grow or decline, ecosystems shift, wildlife becomes extinct, and resources are used up or recover based on what you do. Protect the environment and its inhabitants, or strip mine it for profit. Other players live with the results of what you leave behind.
This is Stars Reach! What will you become?

Hi all, I've been following Stars Reach since 2024. I'd like to leave a positive review for the early access because so much progress has been made since the pre-alpha playtests. I see the game starting to shape up and that's what makes me really happy. Stars Reach really is something special, although still early on. I eagerly await new updates.
Well well well here we are another day another dollar. This will be my 4th review of a game since I prefer not to write reviews on games if at all. Lets start by how the negative people have only played well majority of them for 9 min or less. This is not really enough time to actually play any game for a review. Second no you don't have to pay IRL money to get a homestead in the game. Yes its 20,000 in game currency which you do a bunch of mission you can get it. The game has been amazing and worth buying. The developers are differently not in it for the money. Example one of the worlds were having huge lag issues, they got out of bed and hopped in discord and fixed the issue, not many Devs would do that, most would be that's a tomorrow problem. This is early access so yes there are issues as any game. They have put a lot of work into the game and did amazing job. I spent an hour on creating my character trying to decided what I wanted it to look like. Then getting into the game and started to play was a lot of fun. The animals fight back instead of running. I am an avid hunter and like to hunt, but seeing Bambi's in the game getting revenge for their mother, yea your the one running and hiding. The Devs will hop in the discord and chat with everyone and answer questions if they can without giving secrets away. The community is awesome and willing to help each other out. The loot that drops too is given to everyone who helps fight in that fight as well. So before reading the negative comments of the people who only played 9 minutes or those that didn't jump in and talk with people in the discord to ask for help try it yourself. I will say this i challenge you to map the crucible if you can. You will only know if you get the game what I'm talking about. Have a great Star Reach Day.

Holy MOLY! I feel like steam should straight up ban these types of games from even being released. I really wanted to believe the playtest was just an old old build, but NOPE! Within 6 minutes, I experienced something that could be comparable to licking feces off the floor with a choker wrapped around your neck. This game BLOWS! The performance is horrible, so many bare-bone mechanics, I've seen kickstarters release with more playability than this slop. This game feels more like a concept than an actual ready for EA release title.
If this is the Early Access alpha version, I'm pumped for what's coming down the line. If you enjoyed Star Wars Galaxies back in the early 2000s, this will be for you. If you don't want to be a 'tester' just wait for the 1.0 release in '27 or '28. But if you want experience a type of game that is unlike any other on the market and are OK with unstable planets, some rubber banding issues, and other glitches -- BECASUE IT'S EARLY RELEASE ALPHA -- then I'd say jump on with us. There's so much that's going to update daily and weekly. But if you just want a finished, polished game, rock GTA 6 for awhile and then come check this out in a year or so. But the fact there are hundreds (thousands?) of different fauna, creatures, trees, minerals, etc., they're definitely moving this game in the right direction for my liking. I recommend it as long as you know you're purchasing an early access version with bugs in it.
This game, in its current state, is not worth $30 that you could spend on something else and have more fun. I struggled with giving this a UP or DOWN rating. I personally love MMO's. All the modern stuff sucks, built for the new generation that wants everything fast and easy. This is supposed to be different, has a dev from SWG i believe. The concepts have real promise but... its barely playable. Thats the simple truth. It lags really bad, rubber banding... your grappling hook graphic will stay connected 100's of meters away because of this... youll shoot something and it will appear with your damage numbers on it 100's of meters away. Traversal in the game across ground is a nightmare because everyone is digging holes everwhere. The worlds are TINY, not even 1sqkm, so you cram 200-300 people into one of these, all constantly digging up the ground and building crap all over the place. These arent worlds, these are generated square maps that literally have zone border walls around them. The whole traveling through space to get from one planet to another is.. wait for it.. not you in a ship... its you floating through empty space to gates spread across one of these TINY zones. Some lead to another system, some lead to planets within that system. its slow, clunky. There is an element from SWG crafting ive always liked that is in the game and that is different batches of the same resource can have different stats, and the materials you use in a recipe affect the stats of that item. But outside of that... and it saddens me to say this, it really does.... dont buy this game. not now. maybe later on in EA or at Release, but dont waste your money right now.
Stars Reach is in a rough state right now, but it has so much potential. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a stable, fully fleshed out experience. If, however, you are fine with seeing the game develop and playing it in a very unfinished state it is fun. This is a social MMO that lacks quite a bit of the social features that have placeholders and promises for the future. The developers have been steadily updating the game from the start of the EA, and as long as this continues I see no reason why it won't live up to its potential.
I really hate giving bad reviews, especially for a game like this, but the game isn't playable. Not even able to complete quests in the starter zone as there is too much lag. I'm really sorry to say but the game is not ready for early access, Will give it a try later on if it survives this catastrophic launch, but for now am asking for a refund. :(
Lot of complaints about performance. The starter zone is just clogged with players atm, still playable, and the performance is perfect once you leave the starter planet and go to any one of the other ones. Game has amazing potential, in my eyes.
Wanted to refund it at first but I gave it more playtime as I really wanted to like this. Unfortunately, it's severely undercooked, janky, buggy and just not interesting enough to keep playing. This was not ready for Early Access being in such a rough shape, nor was it worth 30 dollars. I've read this game has been in development since 2018 w/ millions invested. Yet their finances have been in dire straits, forcing them to release this game in EA as a last ditch effort to continue funding. That doesn't bode well for the game's future at all. Save your 30 dollars and spend it on an actual game, instead of spending it to be a playtester for a game that might not see 1.0.
Do not purchase this game. It's unbelievable that even in the day and age that people put unfinished products on steam that should never be there that this is here. It has interesting systems, but it's so undercooked that I wouldn't even call this pre-alpha. This is a tech demo that you offer for free. This dev is clearly out of dev funds and seeking funding hoping that this works. I wish them the best, but players shouldn't put their hard earned dollars into this as it's YEARS away from a playable product.
