Recognized as one of the best licenses in gaming and lauded by the press, Sherlock Holmes is back with an investigation that is sure to be the most horrifying of the series. The famous detective stands against the most dangerous serial killer England has ever known - Jack the Ripper.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 18 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

As someone with a special interest being Jack the Ripper, and Sherlock Holmes being a current hyperfixation of mine this game is incredibly good. In terms of historical accuracy, based on my knowledge and the research I've done, it is really good. It has a lot of correct and factual information regarding Jack the Ripper and the atrocities he committed. The gameplay itself was very good as well, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The puzzles were good and engaging, though I will admit I had to look up one or two things Who they claimed jack the ripper was, was a very fascinating take to me, and one I was not expecting Overall, a 100/10 game, I will not shut up about it to my friends, it is definitely worth your time and money
Apesar de imperfeito e datado pra cacete, a combinação do caso do estripador com autópsias bem cruas me conquistou. E enquanto tudo isso, obviamente, a genialidade do Sherlock durante o processo de investigação me deixa extasiada como sempre

A mystery that I had been following since I was a teenager, bent on solving unsolved mysteries. The story places two of England's famous figures into a battle of wits, the titular Sherlock Holmes vs. the first mass media covered killer, Jack the Ripper. The game is beautifully well-done, giving you the chance to experience the game either as a point-and-click (the original intended way to play) or switch it to first-person to experience the dirty streets of Whitechapel for yourself. The game was released in 2009 and it shows, some graphics could use a little more work and some mechanics could be implemented that were not added until much later on. The story is wonderfully told, from the beginning with Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson being intrigued at the unfortunate murder of Mary Ann Nichols in Buck's Row, to witnessing the horribly disfigured body of Mary-Jane Kelly in Miller's Court. All throughout the tale, Sherlock is attempting to uncover the truth while dodging the police who have warned him to stay out of it. In the end, the killer is found, but I'll leave that to you. The puzzles are good, but some can be a bit confusing and will leave you looking up a guide because the instructions aren't always clear. There was a section where Sherlock needed to leave a building undetected, but I had no idea why I was gathering items and putting them together for. Something that could've been prevented had Sherlock mentioned needing to make a distraction. All in all, great game.
The best Sherlock Holmes game. The story alone is worth replaying, which is unusual for this kind of game. It offers no alternative paths or endings, yet it's the only game in the series that I replay every year or two. I'd love to see a remaster of this game, but given the execution of the newest game, The Awakened, I have mixed feelings. Best puzzle: Labeling the compartments at the Central News Agency. Worst puzzle: Unlocking Dr. Tumblety's trunk. I also love the foreshadowing through the "filler" texts and seemingly unimportant details in the clues.
The story and dark atmosphere are cool, but the game is just too old and janky to enjoy today The graphics are incredibly dated, the character models look rough, and the pixel-hunting puzzle logic is frustratingly old-school If you are used to Crimes and Punishments, this one feels like a massive step backward in gameplay Skip it unless you have massive nostalgia for 2009 point-and-click games
Best game of the franchise so far. The deduction board makes you feel like you're actually investigating a crime, instead of just following a set of instructions. This, and its great story, is what makes this the most enjoyable installment by Frogwares of its time. The ending is a little bit underwhelming, but that's up to the player.
The story and mystery of this game is very captivating. The puzzles on the other hand sometimes are a little bit clueless as it often dont give you any hint/starting instruction to do the puzzle and you will find youself stuck in a few puzzles and you have to look up walkthroughs just to pass them. Despite this "flaw", i think the games sets the atmosphere very well and its even more immersive if you play it in first person mode.
