Reviews
If you like traipsing around space getting yourself into trouble while exploring, this is a decent game for it.
So while the campaign wasn't terribly gripping, it didn't matter much for me because with these games it's all about the free roam shenanigans.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Starpoint Gemini 2, in its core, is a space exploration sandbox, featuring a huge galaxy with lots of things to do. It has a relaxed pace, quite a bit of depth, not too high of a difficulty and a nice game flow. Main downsides are horrible balancing and a very boring main story line. Personally I was annoyed as well that you can either pick story mode or sandbox mode, but not really do both at the same time, which felt limiting ore missing out content at times, but in the long run turned out to be ok. There's better games out there, but for fans of the genre this can truly be a bargain on sale due to the massive amount of hours one can sink into this. It's fun enough to play it for quite a while at the least
Never have I played a game so calming and relaxing. A visually beautiful game with solid, tactical combat, some interesting mechanics (like only saving at space ports) and a huge galaxy to explore.
An entertaining free-roam space game with satisfying progression and an ultimately forgettable and awkward campaign. If you've played SPG: Warlords like I have, it's basically the same, but with fewer features. Warlords is definitely the better game, but if you can do without territory control and RTS mechanics, you'll have a fun time. Be careful, though, as I ran into a few crashes and soft locks during my playtime, so make sure to anchor to stations and save often. For the prices this goes for on sale nowadays, if you're a fan of space games and upgrade chasing, this is a no-brainer.
Got roughly 24 hours on the game. I'm not english so, don't bother about the weirdness I'm talking with. It's a good game, nice mechanics et caetera but... As a game released years ago, would you expect major bugs ? Me neither. I've got my main mission disappeared after few hours not noticing it. I took a look on the internet, lot of people said (years ago) that a fix was coming up. But you could still load game to get it back. Well, I tried... Loaded a game 2 hours ago... Nothing 3 hours... nothing ! I loaded up to 5 checkpoint-saves by the game itself (which automatically saves the game when you do something about the main quest)... nothing ! So, if you want to play that game in free mode, you're good. If you want to do the main quest : forget it, it seems that years after the release, it's still able to disappear, and even more for -at least- up to 5 auto saves in the game. I even checked in the menu for "active missions" then selected the "main mission", it's empty btw. (for each saves) The most frustrating thing to me is that it happens after more than 20 hours of gameplay. If I knew it, i wouldn't even bother beginning the game.
i like the game, i just can't stand sitting around for hours waiting to fly to destinations. especially worse since it requires some grinding. too bad since i'll be missing out on a potentially great game.
This game has a good blend of progressing through a micro economy to buy better gear and ships, and just being able to dive in and blast some fools with rail guns and missiles. As others have noted, there are some economy imbalances where after a short time you figure out that capturing ships is far far more profitable than doing freelance missions. However, flying in the smaller ships gives more of a dog-fight feel than just lurching through with a dreadnaught and cutting loose with the autofire and multiple heavy weapons. Story mode is somewhat interesting, and walks through a neat little setup for future games and/or sandboxing in this one.
This game can be fun to play, but at the same time very frustrating to complete. This is due to a bug that occur several times while doing the main quests that prevent any further dialogue to open up and tell you where to go next. You are going to have to revert to either the autosave or prior saves. This will likely lose you the time you grind on the side quests and their rewards. I did a few new games and never get to finish the main story because the game is bugged and could not continue forward every time.
really bad experience. Sluggish pace of progression, random level missions to the point you are either underleveled to the enemy or its a trivial threat, sometimes the mission level is irrelevant to the point that you may find a +10lvl mission that requires you to repayr something or an equal level mission with overgeared enemies blowing you up in seconds. People say its good once you get past the first such 'obstacles', however, at least for me the existence of such obstacles makes the game not worth my time.
