Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 12.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 15.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Honestly Boring. There is so much endless wandering before you can even get anywhere unique or relevant.
Alright, I gotta be 100% honest when writing this review. The game isn't totally terrible.. It's got some serious issues, yes. Mainly the fact that the main story is the least interesting thing to ever exist and has no incentivization to actually complete at all. I still haven't completed the main story, not even once. That's how boring it's quests are and how little it incentivizes me to play it. Some other issues I have are as follows: Ship customization; Ships are too big for my liking, I love small fighter type ships, and I love flying solo with no companions. Why am I not allowed to build a tiny little ship that's just a fighter? Why does everything have to be five times the size of a double decker bus? The SysDef vs Crimson Fleet storyline; This is by far the second most boring storyline in the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. I am a tried and true law obedient, if I ever disobey the law it will probably be the same day I die. So imagine my disappointment when I find out to take out the crimson fleet, I have to do some super sleuth, 007, hitman action. I HATE these kinds of missions. Especially because SysDef CLEARLY has the resources and intel to take out the Crimson Fleet well before this, the story is USELESS. I'd rather spend my time and effort shooting every crimson fleet ship in the universe than spend another MINUTE amongst those ANIMALS the game calls Pirates. Worst decision ever, absolute garbage, I HATE the Crimson Fleet, I HATE IT. Upgrading gear; It's just bad, I don't understand why you can't just enhance the gun normally, without it just getting higher damage number. I feel like legendary guns with special perks should get enhancing tiers, to incentivize a hunt for that kind of gear, and then you can improve the power/duration of the special perks by enhancing the tier of the weapon/armor. The good stuff, stuff I like: The UC Vanguard Anti-Xeno questline was fun, I enjoyed it, it was well written, and it was genuinely fun to play through... Alright that's it, enjoy my review.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 18: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

The moment that made me REALLY realize how soulless this game is was Sarah's companion quest. It was all about her leaving behind her crew on an empty planet and you finding out they actually survived all alone on that planet for decades. Then 5 minutes later plops up a map marker in 800 m distance of a generic copy paste settlement like on any other planet. Soulless slop. Don't buy. Play Cyberpunk or No Man's Sky instead.
Todd Howard should face fraud charges
Its just really f***ing boring
All the criticisms that you've heard are correct. But I think the issue goes deeper. After 8 years in development, this was the result. Why was it even released? And this is what is happening to games. Get them out the door, wait thru the criticism, and then make half hearted attempts to "finish" the game, or provide mods for money. So you have to pay more than the original (high) price. Everyone forgets that No Man;s Sky did the same thing but since they provided all of the additional content free, they were forgiven. Is anyone else tired of being quality control? The sad thing is there is a great concept in this game - the multiple universe. Each playthrough could have been an entirely different experience since you have knowledge you didnt have. It wouldnt ruin the quests because you would still need to fetch evidence. AS it is, you have to pick from the dialog tree pretending like you have no idea what is going on. It is self-defeating. You think this new universe is going to be exciting, but it is just replaying the game. And the mods. If you like buying your game over and over and ruining your saves because the mod you chose (like most of them) doesnt work unless you want to spend hours troubleshooting, changing settings, praying. I tried 3 of them. One worked , another didnt do anything, and one made my character invisible. Now these were free mods so maybe you have to pay before they are any good. But I have trouble paying for things that look like they are not going to work anyway. I have played multiple playthroughs, several NG+ games. I have been able to enjoy some of it by not following the main stories. Like as soon as I left Vectera I went to Jaffa where there is a huge Va'ruun outpost. With all the starborn powers i was able to defeat the entire base alone. Plus I got another ship, the Dagger. So you can make your own fun but it is time to move on.
The game has the usual Bethesda bugs. It is heavily woke.. 90% of all righteous leaders are female. Most of the remaining 10% male are POC. The declared relationships in this game are 70% homosexual. The "STEM" positions in the game are around 80% Female. The females in this game are almost androgenous. And they were so against any male gaze that you can't even buy the swimsuit. The shipbuilding is kind of fun, and the crafting and outpost options are good. But if I hadn't had mods, this would have been a skip for sure.
All I can say is my own experience and I am obsessed with Starfield. I believe people view this as a shallow game because initially it seems that way I guess? But the more you play it the more intricate you realise it is. The skill system in this game is by far my biggest recommendation, never have I used so many or been so continously obsessed with what I'm getting next and why. I just think they're all so interesting and add to the experience. I have NEVER been so invested in all areas of a skill tree. If you like to make different builds then this is even better for you. First 50 hours I didn't think I'd bother with ship builds but now I do, I didn't think I'd do more than the bare minimum for an outpost but now I have plans for many. Everything just grows on you or maybe that's the wrong phrase, your eyes open to all the possibilities the more you play. I loved the Shattered Space DLC, I got lost in that for about 20 - 30 hours, I haven't even started Terran Armada and there's two factions I haven't finished yet and I'm 130 hours in. I find the gameplay just really addictive which is actually unusual for me, I like to play the story and move on whereas on Starfield I just want to play it, I don't care if I'm doing the story or surveying a planet or building a ship I'm just enjoying playing it and I don't care about finishing it and moving on, like Skyrim I think I could play it for years. I can't address the hate the game gets because I really don't understand it. I haven't had any bugs or issues either. I think it's like Nickelback, it's cool to hate it now and no one is going to admit they're wrong, the Internet has decided this game sucks and that is such a massive shame. P.s. I also do love Nickelback.
Bethesda has absolutely no idea anymore what people want or what made their games so great. The game has the worst sci-fi lore I have ever seen. The people who wrote the story and quests should be utterly ashamed of themselves. Furthermore, Bethesda seems immune to feedback, as they simply fail to improve the very things that have been criticized for years.
one of the worst games ive ever tried.
