About

In Starbound, you create your own story - there’s no wrong way to play! You may choose to save the universe from the forces that destroyed your home, uncovering greater galactic mysteries in the process, or you may wish to forego a heroic journey entirely in favor of colonizing uncharted planets.

Settle down and farm the land, become an intergalactic landlord, hop from planet to planet collecting rare creatures, or delve into dangerous dungeons and lay claim to extraordinary treasures.
Discover ancient temples and modern metropolises, trees with eyes, and mischievous penguins. Make use of hundreds of materials and over two thousand objects to build a sleepy secluded cabin in the woods, a medieval castle, underwater arcade, or even a space station.

Starbound has been built from the ground up to be multiplayer and easily moddable. You have the tools to make the universe your own and modify the game to suit your play style - add new items, races, planet types, dungeons, and quests - the possibilities are limitless.

Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; Xbox, GOG publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Didnt know what to expect going into this one in 2026. Overall, it was enjoyable for what I got out of it, although, the side content and end game failed to grip me. This game has an amazing sense of exploration. Finding cool stuff, plenty of unique planet types, gear based progression, survival aspects, and plenty of QOL to keep you doing what you want. You progress quick, and have total freedom to explore wherever you want. Both the primary plus and minus to games like these; you see everything once, and enjoy it, you see it twice, and you are over it. Plenty of cool new things to explore and enjoy, but you will eventually stop caring about much in the game, especially the extensive cosmetic aspect. Combat is serviceable. Above and below ground exploration is satisfying. Huge variety of enemy types. Worlds feel unique and full of character. There honestly feels like there is plenty more game to be had, but the random aspect of quests and end game leave you pretty much streamlined to the main story, and then calling it quits. Worth playing in coop for sure. I got a solid 30 hours out of it, and even tried a few side content items. Nothing gripped me once I hit end game, but thats fine. Fun for what it is.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The Game, even though the developers did some shady stuff... is fantastic! the modding community also added so much stuff that makes the game even greater. Lots of content, unlimited exploration. Now we just need the developers to get their heads out of you know where and give us something more than a record....

It's just not... fun. It could have been an incredible game, but it's just kinda boring somehow.
Косые, кривые хитбоксы, интерфейс дерьмовый, завязка идиотская, модельки картонные. Разрабы забили болт на свою игру и совсем ее не развивают Игра совсем не зацепила и не заслужила своих "хороших" отзывов
1000+ hours of gameplay, but ♥♥♥♥ chucklefish. Exploiting unpaid labor and providing no compensation. Eat a ♥♥♥♥ I hope you company fails.
started too slow for me, just running and opening doors, got bored too fast
cowboy bebop if it was a video game and also rated PG novakids turned me non binary
