About
In the most distant reaches of the world, magic still exists, embodied by spirits of the land, of the sky, and of every natural thing. As the great powers of Europe stretch their colonial empires further and further, they will inevitably lay claim to a place where spirits still hold power - and when they do, the land itself will fight back alongside the islanders who live there.

Spirit Island is a cooperative settler-destruction strategy game designed by R. Eric Reuss and set in an alternate-history world around A.D. 1700. Players become different Spirits of the land, each with their own unique elemental powers, forced to defend their island home from colonizing Invaders spreading blight and destruction. Your Spirits work with the native Dahan to increase your power and drive the invading colonists from your island in this strategic area-control game.
In Spirit Island, players choose between 1-4 Spirits to control. The number of Spirits determines the size of the island:

8 different Spirits, each with 4 Power cards unique to that Spirit
36 Minor Power cards that enhance the abilities of your Spirits
22 Major Power cards with more powerful effects to devastate the Invaders
A modular island, made up of 4 balanced island boards, for a variety of layouts
Thematic island boards that reflect the canonical island and provide a new challenge
3 multi-tier Adversaries (specific Invaders) for play variety and fine-tuned challenge: Brandenburg-Prussia, England, and Sweden
4 optional Scenarios for even more play variety
15 Invader cards driving a distinctive Invader expansion system
2 Blight cards with challenging effects as the Invaders blight the Island
15 Fear cards with beneficial effects, earned as you terrify the Invaders
Every rule & interaction in the game has been carefully adapted and thoroughly tested by expert Spirit Island players, as well as the designer himself. If you’re wondering how a certain situation works in Spirit Island, this game is the ultimate rules lawyer!
Original dynamic music composed by Jean-Marc Giffin brings Spirit Island to life. Each Spirit has unique musical elements that wax and wane as the game progresses.
3D Textured maps bring a realistic look and isometric perspective to the Island.
3D Classic maps present the Island the way it looks on the tabletop.
2D Classic maps provide a simplified top-down option for all you number crunchers out there.

I love Spirit Island and there are lots of options to speed up or challenge players.
An excellent digitalized version of my favorite board game, honestly I think this is a better way to play the game in a lot of senses although there's nothing like sitting around a table in person :) Spirit Island is a cooperative deckbuilding strategy game which refreshingly has you driving colonizers out instead of being one, as powerful nature spirits protecting the island from exploitation and Blight alongside the indigenous Dahan. Gameplay involves drafting cards, careful power growth, token synergy/management, coordinating with other players, and proactive strategizing. This game will have you planning ahead and requires a decent amount of thought and focus to solve problems before they escalate. Thoroughly unique in so many ways, this is a special game that stands out from so many others that I see playing and loving for the rest of my life. I can get through games much more quickly with setup/game mechanics automated, and not having to constantly double-check the board to make sure I'm following the rules and didn't misread/miss something really makes it more enjoyable to me and lowers burnout significantly. I feel like I can focus on *playing* the actual game more and less on running the game. The extra bits of art and music help with immersion and are a nice bit of polish that I found lacking in the physical version sometimes. The game is already essentially infinitely re-playable, and the digitalization only makes it more so. Overall I'm quite please with the quality and pace of development for the game, I appreciate their model of cutting the expansions into chunks to ensure quality and testing. There is so much re-playability for each spirit and with each addition that a more thorough and gradual release schedule work excellently. I believe this game has excellent value at full price, with expansions that you don't need but certainly add significant extra content and new mechanics as well. I highly recommend this game to advanced board game lovers, and the automation adds a wonderful level of accessibility to open the board game up to a wider audience. Where I would hesitate to recommend the physical version to people without having them try it out first (nothing against the game it's just complicated and requires a lot of maintenance before/during/after the game), the digital version is far more approachable and with a lot of modular difficulty settings I feel much more comfortable recommending it to people who would play it on "easier" difficulties (I wouldn't call the game easy at any difficulty really but it can get REALLY challenging at higher difficulties).

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

No matter whether I play with one spirit or two, it constantly feels like I'm playing Catch Up With the Invaders. I want to love this game, but I wasn't having any fun playing it.
Great implementation of a great board game.
Es ist eins meiner absoluten Lieblingsbrettspiele und die App ist gut umgesetzt.
I have not played the board game but from what I gather this is a very good adaptation. Very steep learning curve. Don't buy if you're looking to win quickly or if you think you can refund after figuring out the basics. The 2hr limit will not be your friend. DO BUY if you like board games that can be a genuine challenge with great and deep mechanics.
Eu AMO esse jogo!! Sério, se vc curte Boardgames, e jogar solo? esse jogo é perfeito... Ainda mais agora com as expansões em promoção. A melhor parte?
A good, solid digital adaptation of one of the best strategy board games of all time. Doubly so as it's developed by Handelabra, who have proven themselves to be one of the few developers in the current industry that won't make you hate them. UI is, admittedly, rather clunky at times, but that's probably a necessary evil given the amount of things the game needs you to have access to at any given time.
This game hits in a way that is rare. Big recommend!
Good adaptation of a complex game that benefits from some automation. The UI is very complex at first while also being "mobile-ized" in the sense that everything is huge, some kind of UI scaling option would have been appreciated and I imagine there are more space-efficient ways to show everyone's information, but once you're used to the quirks it gets the job done. I do think it's a little goofy that when you have some effect that needs to be done on all boards it makes you vote on which board to deal with now since you're going to go through them anyway, so clicking the "pick for me" button is perfectly fine. But for the game's few janky bits there are some really nice quality of life features. The fact that it tallies up your elements and shows which elemental powers you qualify for this turn is a huge deal because it's very easy to forget about them in the real game. The fact that it also shows you which spaces are valid to play for whatever action you're trying to do is also helpful since this is one of those complex thinky games where you might be running to google pretty frequently for minutiae, so just having it enforce things for you and prevent you from accidentally cheating (or making it even harder for yourself) is pretty nice. The 3D visuals are also really well done, I like the extra sheen and depth they gave the terrain and the sea background fits the vibe. This is definitely one of the harder board games to wrap your brain around even when you get into the flow, so having the digital as either a guide or a way to do digital game nights with your friends is a really solid option.
