SpeedRunners 2 is a high-speed multiplayer platformer where rival superheroes face off in breakneck races using parkour, grappling hooks, and game-changing power-ups. Fall behind, and a shrinking ring of fire eliminates you – until only one runner remains.

There are a few things that bother me with the game. I miss the custom match mod with only bots, where you could set modifiers, and else. Also, it would be nice to play the other game modes with bots, and the main menu character selection would be accessible if the user is offline. Apart from these things I really like the game. It's great to see the previous Speedrunners in a new guise.

ray gun is overpowered, less maps, worse game modes, no super speedrunners. 4/10
We played this in front of several tired people, and decided to review it afterwards. After several runs, the determination of the crowds, and crowds, and crowds of people was that it was very similar to the first game without much to differentiate it. We like the frog though (character design was cooler.) Final verdict: play the first one, but this one's not that bad. It's more of a meh than a flat out no.
Okay this is great! It does in many ways feel like a remake rather than a sequel, but I'm a fan. They have the same music from the first game plus new additions, and even several courses are mostly the same, but with slight tweeks to improve on things. Overall I am most pleased with just the quality of life stuff in the menu's and setup for local games. My kids loved the first one and we all love the second one too. I really do not understand a lot of conclusions people were making about the music or the screen being tight. I found it to be just as good if not better than the first one.
I want to like this game. I got to try it out at an in-person event. I love the original, but man this game is just a disappointing mess. The positives: Music and voice acting are pretty nice. The gameplay is still the same fun as the original, but honestly if you're here for the gameplay just play the original. The meh: The visuals are decent, most of the time. I like the backgrounds and the new glow around the parts where you can grapple. There are weird anti-aliasing issues on character models no matter the settings. I have no clue why they just made everything 3d when the 2d look from the original would have been fine if they just updated it to a modern standard. The negatives: Game runs incredibly poorly. I was getting around 30 fps. In a 2d platformer. On low settings. The menus are not meant for keyboard and mouse. They're janky and don't repsond well to mouse input. Control settings have profiles but you can't edit a profile once you made it, you can only delete it. The singleplayer campaign felt... weird. The first mission you are Moonraker in a solo match, then you swap to the Falcon in a 1v1 against Moonraker, then the 3rd mission of the campaign is some weird bossfight where you are Moonraker again. The bossfight felt weird since you had to shoot rockets at a floating van and it just didn't feel like Speedrunners. I had to stop and wait for the screen to scroll over and for items to appear. Why? The original speedrunners was about 1 thing and 1 thing only: Knocking out your opponents by slowing them down and being faster than them. Again, I would love to love this game because I love the original. Sadly, I just can't. It just feels like they don't care about what made the original so fun, and they wanted to try out 3d modelling and didn't care about anything else. If you want to play this game, just go play the original instead. It is a way better experience and you don't lose out on anything.
