Before even getting to the actual game itself. There's confusing design choices in the main menu. For example, if you want to host a custom lobby solo, you CANNOT. The game forces you to at least have one other person join you. This make no sense design wise as lets say I wanted to play with 7 other bots, which you cannot do. There is also a game breaking bug with keybinds with unable to edit them after you create them and also them resetting to the default keybinds every time you restart the game even though ITS SET TO YOUR OWN BINDS. Very disappointed with this release as I loved the original speedrunners but it just seems like the developers don't know what to do next. Visually the game looks stunning and as much as I would love to love this game, in the current release state it's honestly unplayable.
ROADMAP NEEDED
I had a ton of fun today, but even I can tell you that this is going to get stale very fast. The game needs more, we need to know what is to come, we need leaderboards, and something to play for. More Content, and more content. Also everything Dart mod; needs to be in the base game, it actually makes it playable. I'll give em a week.

Overall I'm really enjoying this so far. I'm typing this up 3 hours in. PROS: - The physics are great! You feel just as fast as you did in the original, and the hook mechanics are just as rewarding as before. - The art style. It's certainly an improvement from the first game, while still keeping the Art Deco aesthetics The backgrounds are just downright gorgeous. Multiple times while playing this, I've found myself in a flow-state, just immersed in the background art. At first, I was concerned about them going for a 3d style, but I am pleasantly surprised at how well they implemented this. - The story mode is versatile, introducing the player to all of the gamemodes without boring them. - The characterization of the heroes (and villains) is quite entertaining - The menus are easy to navigate around, and the tutorials are thorough CONS: - The animations for the victory screens seem off, a little chunky. - I actually enjoyed the story mode, but I found it to be a little short. Two more acts would be very welcomed. - There's a limited amount of maps. I understand more will get added soon and that each current map has A and B variants, I was hoping to see more. OVERALL: Good sequel to SpeedRunners! It doesn't take away anything from the first, and it even adds depth to the characters we know and love. I can't wait to see what comes of future updates, so keep going, Devs! Good job!
Buen Juego, visualmente bonito igual que la primera entrega, 2 modelos de pista diferente por mapa tanto modelo A como el B muy buenos, si tuviera que decir algo malo solo que necesita los mapas que faltan de la primera entrega nada mas ;D
What a letdown.
most of the mechanics which exist in first game are missing. workshops are necessary and should be added.
Nope. Do not buy, just play the first one. The maps are the same but worse (automated wind tunnels are all OVER the place, a bunch of jank geometry you can get caught on), and there are only 8 maps (with a and b sides, but still similar to each other, and all based on maps from the last game). The items are tuned weirdly (the missile knows your ip address it tracks so hard, the golden hook holds you in place as it seems to track first place instead of the guy nearest you, the drill barely effects players, the gun is absurdly abusable, ice doesn't have ice physics). The physics are also jank- your jumps are floaty (which could be fine) but your gravity is artificially increased when jumping into slopes, and corner collision/gravity seems overbearingly strong sometimes, resulting in eaten jump inputs. Besides that we also had some buggy/rough programming- you can be so far ahead of players you are COMPLETELY OFFSCREEN. We had a missile hover above a players head as they slid, and once a player grappled another while they were on two sides of a platform, both getting stuck for several seconds and dying. And on top of that every map is NEON. Mostly NEON YELLOW I CAN'T SEE! And golden skins are an unlock? Why? So my character DISAPPEARS from view? Also no cat (that we saw).
peak
This game's actually really good, especially the fact that it's $5 less than the original, with crossplay and 8 player built in. The game still controls well, too, it just takes a sec to get used to. I personally don't have any problems with the netcode or delay, at all, even if my friends live in different timezones, but if you REALLY want rollback, just download DART, which I see a lot of people use, even in public matches. The stage reworks and the b-sides are really good, even if there aren't many of them right now, but I think it's a good thing, as it gives new people a chance to learn them faster, even though I do hope that more get added in the future, along with crossover skins (like Octodad and the Payday ones from Speedrunners 1). Also, 8 player matches with your friends are really fun, even if half of them die off rip from the lower item delay on round start (which I welcome, it's pretty funny). The new items are also really nice, even if the gun is the #1 most bm you can do when you send the poor person behind you at mach 5 into the blast zone. The watch thing (celeste double dash crystal, as I call it) is really nice for a quick direction swap. The grapple physics are crisp, with the only problems being the fact that you can't jump while grappling, and touching the ground after being airborne cancels the hook. At the end of the day, it doesn't deserve as much hate as it's been getting, and I'm honestly having more fun with it than I did in Speedrunners 1, but take my opinions with a grain of salt. The game's only $10, and if you were planning on buying Speedrunners 1 instead, just get this and play it a bit so you can make your decision yourself, and refund it if you don't like it, instead of listening to all of the people complaining in the reviews.
