Reviews
Was fun from what I remembered, damn it's been 8 years already.
For an indy game with a small dev team, this game is awesome. Versatile, fun, replayable (I've got 85 hours and keep coming back to it). It doesn't take itself too seriously and is addictive. Definitely worth the price.
Where's my S.P.A.Z.3? 😕 Really, this was one of my favorite games I always end up thinking about, and recently went back to. It does so much right. The strategy, the RNG, the AI feeling like actual people you can care about, or hate, and this was well before the AI slop era. Even with a lack of voice line variety, the execution is done so well, that it makes me appreciate each character, even when they share the same line with a different voice. I almost never re-play games. Once I finish a game, I consider it dead, done, nothing left to experience. That being said, I guess I've missed games like this so much, I felt compelled to go back, play something that felt fun, and engaging, even if it didn't have the latest fancy graphics. I really couldn't say enough about this game, an under appreciated gem, but I don't want to get into spoilers for anyone who hasn't played it. Simply if you like a creative strategy war game with an excellent sense of humor, and you haven't played this yet, well, why haven't you? Really, where's my S.P.A.Z.3? Hell, I'd even pay for a remaster, with better support for High Res and FPS stabilization. (by that last one, I mean some controls are tied to fps, so running at unlimited causes some uncontrollable reactions, like zooming out the entire map with a slight tap.)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's alright, but it doesn't capture the fun or the charm of SPAZ. The first game is superior, there are other, better games like this if you want an arcade space fix.
One of the worst combat UIs I have ever seen in a space game. I prefer Star Valor.
A different experience from the first game, but I still enjoyed it a lot. I particularly like getting to build my own modular mothership, and carve out an empire in sandbox mode.
This one does not feel anywhere as good as the first. Much more janky with a learning curve that feels much more difficult.
Honestly really good
Its good, but I feel like it could have been better.
