About
Space Engineers is an open world sandbox game about designing, building and testing your own space machines. Construct ships, stations and planetary bases in a fully destructible environment, then explore planets and space, mine resources, survive hazards and engage in combat alone or with friends in Creative or Survival modes.
Play solo or in multiplayer, from small co-op outposts to huge community servers. Start with a simple lander, grow into a mining and industrial empire, or focus on warships and planetary fortresses – the game gives you the tools and physics, you decide what to build.
Space Engineers uses a volumetric physics engine: every block and voxel has mass, inertia and damage. Ships break apart, stations crumble and terrain can be drilled, carved and reshaped, so your engineering choices really matter.
Space Engineers is grounded in real engineering and hard science fiction, driven by realism and plausible near-future technology. Think modern space programs extrapolated into the future: realistic ships, stations, tools and systems where everything is built and simulated block by block. It’s about the machinery you build, not about magic or scripted set-pieces.

I hate this game. Doesn't mean this menu maze of software wont be loved by other people, But every time i've tried to dip into it, just no. I hate this. the menus alone were a test of my patience every single time. Driving is slow, flying is slow, building is just frustrating...Do i know even remotely how to play? no i guess not. This game beat me.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I had some fun, but as an Engineering student Calculus Homework gives me less of a headache xD
I get that this is just meant to be a sandbox, but even so it does stretch the realms of pointlessness a bit. I got to the point where I could have built a ship to go into space but by then I could just not be bothered to actually do it. I used to play Empyrion, which I quit because there were so many issues with the implementation. SE is better built, but much less of a game underneath it. Maybe its just not aimed at me.
I really want to give a thumbs up because this is definitely a good game, but I'm going to speak about the beginners experience that I had. I spent about 3 hours learning the ropes, or so I thought. I did the tutorial level, and for what it's worth it was fun. Then I got on the next day and wanted to get a raw experience, so I started a survival world. That's where the fun stopped. I had to restart several times after getting my vehicle stuck in a pit, and only later learned about the zero gravity feature that helps get it unstuck. So much for that tutorial. Then I found a research facility and, expecting trouble, parked a few hundred meters away while I checked it out by foot. Triggered an alarm, and after hiding for a few minutes, looted the place and went back to my vehicle and they blew it up. Never went after me personally, just zipped straight to my vehicle way beyond the trees. I still never saw what they attacked with either. Given that the vehicle has your only refining and assembling capabilities, once you lose it before constructing a base, you may as well start over, so I did. Then, this is like the 7th restart at this point, I find a crashed ship. I think it's the coolest thing, a little project I can mark on my GPS and work on from time to time. Nope. Apparently, I have to "research" the parts before I can claim them, things like the thrusters and whatnot. Research? Huh, must've missed that part of the tutorial, unless it just didn't exist. After admitting defeat again, I decide to loot what I can and leave, but after destroying something on the ship, it activates it's defenses or something and I get lit up upon leaving. I call it a night before I lose my mind. Next time I get on, I manage to actually get established. It's just a platform with a few production blocks and solar panels, but it felt good to have a base finally. I spend a few more minutes wrapping it up and have decided that, as far as the survival experience goes, this game has done a poor job of it. There's no real tutorial, and the little "good bot" helper thing is very much not helpful. It kept asking me to make ingots using the survival kit, but it only completed the objective after getting a refinery running, which requires me making a LOT of ingots already. Obtaining more advanced components has no clear path. Research is not well explained, if at all. I was just making whatever I could and hoping that something would trigger an unlock. I eventually got food going, but there was NO mention of food in the tutorial, so I was surprised to start taking damage after ignoring it at first. I also got randomly attacked by a wolf, really out of nowhere, so that was something. I know this is more of a creative game and the survival experience isn't very core to it, but what's even the point of it when it's so slow and clunky. I probably have to put in like 10 more hours in before I get a functioning spacecraft, that's how tedious it is to play it. If you are looking for something like No Man's Sky in terms of survival, this is definitely not the way to go. On the creative side of things, there are more complex engineering feats to do, and the physics are really fun to play with. I'd say this makes a better simulation than a game tbh.
The game is vastly empty. Planet side you might see a wolf or two. The crafting system is overly complicated. There is no tutorial or any sort of explanation as to how to do anything other than a screen pop up that tells you to do something, but does not explain how to do it. If you have time to waste, and you just want to explore an empty word, then go for it, might be for you. I personally found this game to be incredibly boring and tedious.
The explanation on how to play is riddiculous. It says refil your hydrogen and use the bottle at the terminal. There is no bottle and no hydrogen and at the terminal if you press "K" or "L" it's the same, no difference.(???) It just makes me goose bump knowing they made Space Engineers 2. Probably its the same crap.
меня отымели псы, меня отымела система строительства, меня отымела ферма водрослей, меня отмыел мой желудок. Советую
Excellent sandbox game with both creative and survival options.
what is the point of this game. I went into the tutorial mission and couldnt get past the basic stuff. It was telling me pre hold alt and scroll when alt was bound to crouch, have they HARD TYPED the instructions rather than getting them to refer to a keybind reference? It also said I need to do a recharge at a kit, without telling me what or where a kit is, there are tanks in one place but no tanks in the other and I cant put tanks in the other? I have no idea what the tutorial wanted me to do. I went onto youtube to watch someone else and try to follow them, they said skip the tutorial it doesnt work, follow me instead. I tried to, but foudn the game so unnecessarily convoluted that I have uninstalled it. After 30 mins I couldnt figure out how to stop the buggy from rolling off down a hill every time I got out, and couldnt figure out how to even equip the gun you are given. Why have they made this game some completely inaccessible???? I wish to high heaven I didnt buy it, feels like an early access game where they havent even got their ♥♥♥♥ together yet.
