A great AA 3D action game that I'm glad it exists, but ultimately recommended on sale, as certain aspects of the game may not sit right with some, even action game enthusiasts including myself. My impression of the game is that it's "not a sum of its parts" but in reverse. Usually, "not a sum of its parts" is used to express that even if the individual components of something aren't good, the whole package is worth it. I feel that my thoughts on Soulstice is the opposite of that: I like the individual parts of the game, but the overall package felt...not as enjoyable? I love how the combat gives a pretty diverse toolkit that is fun to discover, learn, and practice. Lute's defensive role is a creative take of the "parry" system that is oversaturating the market, and I quite liked how it mechanically flows along Briar tearing monsters apart. Maps having some puzzles and traversals is a welcome callback. Fixed camera makes for great, if eerie views of the set piece. The story, both narrative and character writing, are competently written and makes me care for the sisters, and look forward to Layton's remarks. Yet, somehow, when these individual components come together, they don't feel right. The game felt too long, despite my playtime on Normal/Initiate difficulty being 15 hours. The aesthetics, fixed camera positions, and the defense prompts cause a big legibility/readability issue in combat and traversal. Some of the story exposition dragged on too much in presentation. Some later enemy behaviors are just annoying. Despite these mixed feelings I have, the components of the game are definitely amazing, enough to convince me to buy the sequel, which unfortunately have gotten cancelled. Nonetheless, because of this...split impression I have, I can't fully recommend Soulstice. Not because I doubt the quality, but because I find the game's appeal unpredictable.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Really enjoyed my experience with the game, it's a AA action game so it's not as polished as the best in the genre but for the first try by the studio I think they managed to do well enough. The combat itself is a bit janky, especially in the beginning with only the starting weapons and limited skills, but despite how many reviews liken the color system to games like d.m.c. it's different, since you're not beholden to a single set of weapons but for certain enemies you just activate a field of the corresponding color and keep an eye on the gauge, but othen than that you're free to use your full moveset. The weapons are varied, each better suited for a certain type of enemy but even if it's not the most optimal choice they all got their use. The story i started by skipping the first few missions cutscene, but after a while it got to me and I was hooked in the tale, the protagonists journey in this infested city isn't the most complex plot but there's a few twists and turns that are on par for the tropes the game is clearly inspired by but still worked pretty well for me. The boss fights are all varied and engaging with different gimmicks to overcome, i really appreciate the fact that a mission is dedicated to each major boss, makes it really quick to fight them again if you liked it or just want to improve your score or farm some crystals. The atmosphere and monsters design is overall pretty great, music is high energy but still in tune with the tone of the world. It's incredibly cheap during sales, great time for a few bucks. Shame they canceled the sequel, i think they would've made many improvements and I really wanted to see a continuation of the story.

A história é bacana. Eu paguei 9 conto nele e não me arrependo.
Tem uma mecânica bem fluída e prática de se pegar o jeito. No geral, é um jogo bem linear, sem qualquer dificuldade exploratória, embora tenha muitos recursos que são fáceis de serem deixados para trás.
Imagine the Claymore universe except it plays like OG god of war games. While the camera can be jarring these days, it is an excellent game and worth your time!
