Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Your chosen leader will endure across the Ages, with a unique ability that can help reinforce or pivot your strategy from one Age into the next. For the first time in franchise history, leader selection is separate from your civilization, giving you the freedom to create all-new strategies by mixing and matching gameplay bonuses.

Reviews
Please do not buy this game. I have played Civ since I was a kid, this is the worst. Would not waste your money it's a drag to play. One more turn is no more.
I would love to recommend it, but I can't right now. While I love the game, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love it, to me it's a great experience and I wholeheartedly love it. But, I hate it at the same time. It has numerous issues to fix, ranging from performance, quality of life improvements, gameplay improvements, and more. Usually I'm more than happy to gloss over these and recommend the game as the issues are being worked on and should not define the game or it's creators. No flak to the developers and the ones pouring their heart and soul into this beloved game and its sister games, but what the ♥♥♥♥ Firaxis? I paid ~$200 AUD (iirc) for the Founders Edition when the game came out. I got all the subsequent DLC's and was generally fine with it, I got what I paid for and I actually enjoyed the game. But Firaxis smelt money and they're livid. A new DLC for $40 AUD while the game is this unfinished, has numerous issues to fix? Hello? Same with the DLC's I got with the Founders Edition! DLC's are fine if the game isn't finished but they shouldn't be huge DLC's that add alot of content while the game is on life support! It genuinely pains me to see Firaxis, and many other companies, such as Paradox, throw away their consumers because of money. The work of countless people who love their product all thrown to the side because some high-up exec said sales were low. When will companies realise that they have to actually finish their games before they can add DLC's? Do they not see the catastrophic ratings? I love Civilization VII the way I do a cat that brings you a dead rat as a gift. I like that you got me this, I like that you exist, but did you have to bring me a rat? Did you have to bring me an unfinished game with hundreds of dollars of DLC's ontop of it? Please, Firaxis, fix your game. My heart goes out to the developers and those who pour their heart and soul into this game. I want to give this game a thumbs up and recommend it, for I love it, but I cannot in good faith recommend this to people without a tonne of warnings. Overall, 6/10.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Of the 6 markets with a position on both sides, 4 climbed and 2 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've put in the hours and did the cultural victory, which came too fast. I did the military victory, which was too easy. I achieved both victories so soon after entering the "modern age" that I felt cheated, so I started a new campaign with only science victory as my goal. I haven't even built my first aircraft and I've already researched everything. There is nothing more to research! The game hasn't ended, but it is boring me to death! They left so much out from the previous civs that this has got to be the most lackluster civ game I've ever played! I'll do Humankind, Millennia, or even ARA next before I load up this wannabe Civ game! I'm glad I got it on a sale, though I'm still upset I spent any money on this. If Sid Meier had any part in creating this version, he has lost his touch! They need a massive patch to fix this, and that patch better not come with a price tag disguised as "DLC"!
I have been playing Civilization since Civ 2, so when I say I don't recommend this game, give it some merit. I'll give it to you in a few reasons: 1. It fails to be satisfying in either micromanagement or macromanagement. The towns/cities system punishes both for different reasons. 2. It is too easy for AI opponents to get runaway advantages for certain victory conditions, and equally impossible to do anything to stop them. Someone can be 30% to a cultural victory, you go to war with them, take half their civilization, and it barely put a dent in their progress. 3. Building on #2, it feels like your decisions don't really matter that much to affect the game. 4. War exhaustion makes war nearly impossible. War has always been part of the fun in Civ, but now it is the path of MOST resistance in almost every scenario. 5. The "independent states" aka barbarians have unreasonable amounts of units all the time. They field as many combat units as entire nations, and if you're unlucky enough to start near a hostile one, you might as well forget doing anything that age but dealing with the independent state.
On launch the game was a dreadful was of time. And honestly a disgrace to the franchise. I have recently re downloaded the game to see if it has improved? were features and content flushed out?. I may never know. The game has an updated User agreement. That in no way, shape, or form. Can I, in good conscience agree to. Then mandatory agreement to forfeit your legal rights and protections.... absurd.
they seem to have ruined this game, i have 6 and 7, everytime i want to play, i click on 6. Besides the navigable rivers, this is a step backwards
Worst game ever. They also won’t give me a refund. DO NOT BUY. I WANT A REFUND NOW.
Gosh. You know as a very long ime player of Civ (from the 1st Edition) I have to say that this version is a bit of a step backwards in regards to playing experience. I can appreciate the time and experience streams and they are intreguing but the pace ofplay is a lot slower than previous versions. Having to click on each individual unit to give orders is a major irritant. So far I have made 5 attempts at playing this version and have yet to complete one of them I keep on returning to Civ VI.
I have poured nearly 4,000 hours of my life into the Civilization franchise. I am exactly the type of dedicated fan who drops $130 on the premium Founders Edition without hesitation because I trusted this developer. I genuinely liked Civ 7 up to this point. But with their latest update, Firaxis and 2K have made it clear that they no longer care about making great games—they only care about how much money they can milk out of us.The blatant corporate greed and deceptive marketing in their latest patch notes is disgusting. They literally sneaked a paid $30 DLC announcement into the exact same breath as a free patch, writing: "And lastly, this free update launches alongside Part 1 of our newest paid Content Collection: Brush and Blade." This is predatory, insulting grammar. Bundling "free update" and "paid Content Collection" in the same sentence is a deliberate tactic to obscure the price tag and hijack consumer goodwill. After bleeding your most loyal fans for $130 upfront, you expect us to squint through patch notes like a legal document just to find out we're being nickel-and-dimed for more content? The monetization has officially ruined the experience. I have given nearly a thousand hours to Civ 7, but I cannot recommend a game that treats its community like an open wallet. If you buy this, prepare to be viewed as a cash cow, not a player. Fix your monetization and start treating your players with transparency, Firaxis. This is shameful.
An extraordinarily bad game. Buy any other Civ game but definitely not this one.
