Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Sep 3 → 2.14/day in the week after.

Reviews
This game is very confusing for a number of reasons: 1) names. you have to remember the factions leaders names, their actual faction name, and the nick-names of them to figure out who wants/has done what. 2) the tech tree is perhaps the worst of any civ game. its difficult to figure out what tech permits what 3) all unit upgrades (and many units) are locked away under the affinity, and its annoying to even try to figure out when you can get upgrades 4) the unit veteran system is the most bland garbage ever, with no actual benefit.
If you take it at face value and don't think about it too hard, it's a lot of fun. Worth it on sale.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is an enjoyable game to whittle away hours. The detail is incredible in the game play. The creation of the worlds, and tech development time line is enjoyable.
To many errors and problems with no help at all from Steam. They literally take your money sell it to you and then cut you out. Try to talk to anyone from Steam and see for yourself.
As an avid Civ V player, Civ : BE is exactly how I pictured Civ games in space. Solid and original lore, Civ V excellent gameplay yet a fresh, ungimmicky take on it (quests, web-like tech-tree, affinities). All neatly packed in a gorgeous, clear interface and graphical assets (terrain, units, cities). The Rising Tide DLC is a must-have, and a few UI mods help for a smoothed experience. Be warned that unlike Civ V, this game only got one DLC, and thus feels somewhat rough on the edges.
Pretty much the turning point where Sid Meier's lost his mojo.
My favourite Civ. I played it when I couldn't yet speak English very well and it created a lasting impression on my young mind. The setting combined with the Civ gameplay was great. But especially the setting. In fact, the setting itself is just really detailed. Now that I'm grown, I'm taking my time reading the lore for every research and wonder in this game and honestly, it is so much more than people really give this game credit for. The writers created some really cool factions and lore. I think it has the best spying system among all other Civ games. And the soundtrack is also amazing. I unironically listen to it on my own.
Appears to be a reskin of CIV V. In my opinion, if you're new to the Civ series you should not buy this game. Civ 3, 4, and 5 are the best versions of this game and Beyond Earth makes some mechanics unnecessarily complicated and unreadable.
Is it the best of Civ entries? Surely not, but it is still a lot of fun and guarantees you'll play "just...one...last..turn...", After spending a combined 4K+ hours on Civ 5 and 6, it was and is the Sci-Fi setting that makes me come here repeatedly.
