Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 5.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

too many bugs. too much wacky npc behavior. the idea is great, but the execution is just not there. sadly i had spent so much time trying to enjoy the game, and not being able to, that here i am at 14 hrs, but i feel like i only really played for 2 or 3
This is a mixed review. I adore the premise, the art style, the entire concept of an immersive sim detective sandbox. Coming into the game completely blind, I was immediately blown away by the tutorial case which led me through so many euphoric "aha" moments. In the tutorial case specifically, there is a very clear story being built up based on the evidence you can find. Spoiler on a potential lead:
There is a diary under the victim's bed that you can read through,
and while it doesn't contain much useful information, it still provides some interesting background to what has been happening leading up to the murder. But there was never anything of the sort in later procedurally generated cases. After only a few hours of playing, it started to become clear that a lot of the things I was assuming were just built up in my head and wouldn't be possible with the way the procedural generation functions. There is never any real danger to you as a player; the suspects never get shifty or try to get in your way. Certain things you'd expect in casing a crime scene are also absent. For example, why is it that I can't ask a victim's spouse about what happened? The game is also extremely buggy, almost game-breakingly so. Let me highlight a few instances: 1. Every camera is supposed to be tied to a cruncher (an in-game computer). Often, these crunchers are located in a surveillance room. Some buildings do not have dedicated surveillance rooms, but instead, have a landlord who has access to the cameras through their personal cruncher. For some reason, landlords may sometimes live in a completely separate building. When this happens, you cannot access the cameras in the original building anymore, because the cruncher tied to the cameras must be located in the same building. They still work when observing you doing something illegal though, lol. 2. When doing my first (and only) kidnapping case, I was instructed to read a ransom note left in the victim's apartment. I turned the whole apartment upside down and still couldn't locate where it was after almost two hours of searching. I'm pretty certain it just never spawned for me. 3. A few times I've been pushed through the wall somehow (often while exiting vents), leaving me stuck or falling out the side of the building. There is no way to reset yourself in the menus despite this seeming to be quite a frequent issue. Online, some people have mentioned editing your save file, but it never worked for me (my save would just fail to load). In these cases, I would just load a previous save. So why, after all my complaints (which isn't even an exhaustive list of issues), am I "recommending" this game (note that this is supposed to be a mixed review)? Simply put, there isn't a detective game quite like this one out there yet. Yes, after a few hours, everything becomes repetitive because of the limitations of the procedural generation. Yes, the sheer number of bugs do hamper the experience by a ton. Yes, overall, it is very unpolished and unoptimised. However, the entire concept is so unique, that for an immersive sim fan like me, it was still very much worth the experience, if only somewhat disappointing once I figured out how the game works. It is truly a shame that the developer has announced that there will be no further content updates.

As much as I really like the game I cannot recommend it in its current state. The last two major updates are things that should have either been added much earlier or not at all. No one cares about a modifier for your save if the save itself is in danger from the bugs and adding workshop support as a final update feels like theyve given up on the game and are leaving it to the players to fix it. The most major bug is that the main feature of the game, the procedurally generated murder/kidnapping quests, just stop working and never start again. You can technically finish the game and retire without the main cases but the side quests are limited in type and often give you useless information to find your target. I don't know how the game expects me to find a target with no information aside from their eye color and shoe size. I think the concept of the game and the atmosphere of the game are excellent. The actual execution of the concept is shaky and finishing a game without encountering bugs is essentially impossible in its current state.
I wish there was a "neutral" option when leaving a review for recommending or not recommending the game. The game "world" is super pretty and satisfying to look at and explore. Unfortunately optimization and rendering are a big issue as it can stutter a lot for no reason on the newest of GPUs and things have a hard time rendering in time as you approach them, making a lot of stuff pop up in your face that was invisible before you reach it (furniture etc). The "game" under the pretty simulated noir is decent but unfortunately kind of basic and often broken. You will spend a wild amount of time on some cases if not outright drop them due to the absolute randomness of the procedural gen. and depths you need to go to pull the tiniest lead for little reward. It is not unusual to get a case where there is nothing to go off of than a person's first initial in an email conversation, or a picture of them and nothing else. And in the end you're rewarded with a murderer who, after handcuffed, has an interrogation depth of "did you do it" and "yeah I did" alongside generic NPC rumor dialog of them acting like they didn't even know they themselves were the murderer. Visually and such the game is immersive and I do like playing in it. The actual cases and NPC AI however are not immersive or satisfying in the way I wanted. I still like the concept and am playing it for a bit of completionism, but really wish it delivered the immersion it advertised. My recommendation is that if a case is not immediately coherent and has solid leads then close the case and speed up time at a diner bench or in your bed to wait for a better one to generate.
I really REALLY want to enjoy this game, the concept is awesome the detective aspect seems so cool, but i get got by it again and again. :( ive spent 106 hrs on it and in the beginning i feel like i could get a little further. but as of recently i just end up with bugged quests again and again and i spend more time restarting or reloading past saves then i do actually playing it anymore. been playing it for 35 hrs this past week and each time no matter the case something gets bugged or doesnt work... the final straw was my kidnapper never coming for the suitcase and money! maybe at a later time i hope this game can become playable but right now it seems its just not in the cards for me. :/ Gonna be an uninstall for me dawg.
The idea of this game is good, the game itself, not so much. There are three problems with this game: 1- The cases. Although interesting at first you will soon find you are repeating cases that become similar where you already know what clues to look for and who did it when there are ridiculous notes left at the scene of the crime like "DIDN'T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO GET TO THE TOP!!!"....looking for a coworker of the victim, got it. Also the game borders on realism and not, like for example- if a murder happens on the street, there is a good chance it was caught on a camera where you can then break into a nearby computer to check it out. But if a murder happens in an apartment building, there are cameras in the hallways as well but surprise, they are not actually linked to any system. It is just there as aesthetic, breaking immersion greatly. 2- Bugs. Although not numerous, the game does have some bugs that are annoying and can break side cases. You can take on side jobs from the main cases of murders and although these side cases are pretty repetative and boring, it helps to make money and gain Exp but I found that a lot of these are usually bugged. For example- one side quest I needed to steal a briefcase off this guy. So he picks it up, I follow him waiting for him to go into his apartment and put it down and all of a sudden he walks straight through the wall of a building never to be seen again. No way for me to of course find him and that's it, I had to cancel the quest. It's annoying bugs like this that you will find often or, not a bug but, be given a quest where you need to find someone where the ONLY piece of information you are given is their salary is $80,000....WHO THE HELL KNOWS WHO I'M LOOKING FOR! 3- Game status. There has not been any meaningful update in a long time. Look at the last two. Mod support which last time I checked there was only 2 pages worth of mods and the update before that, Modifiers which are completely useless. Screw that dumb stuff, fix the bugs, include better side cases, make the game more interesting all around. I passed the game and don't necessarily regret it but I think it’s potential has not been fully realized and may never will.
I really tried to like this game, but in the end I'm turned off by the proceduraly generated context and because the detective part is missing for the most part. Interviewing witnesses or looking for motives is not necessary. Just scan for fingerprints and search for everyone in the address book to find the person with those fingerprints. NPCs are incredibly uncooperative and barely want to share their own name, let alone tell something useful about the murder.
I think the people who have a problem with this game don't understand the point of everything being procedurally generated, you aren't the main character in this game nor are you anyone important or known, and not every criminal case has enough evidence to be solved just like in real life. I feel like its more immersive to have cases where you simply can't figure everything out because there isn't enough information, that makes you feel like a real gritty detective when you are so close but just can't quite put it all together yet, and the people who are saying its bugs or the generation is bad are simply impatient. Sometimes yes there can be bugs where you literally get zero information and can't do anything however one of two things happens in that case, you will either get lucky and figure out a way to find more clues off of what little you already have, or you simply can't solve it and you have to wait for the person you are investigating to strike again. The people complaining about that just don't get it, this isn't a "satisfying" relaxing game that rewards you every two seconds, and that is what I already love about this game is that it FORCES you to use your brain to actually win. And when you hit dead end after dead end, that feeling of finally finding the missing piece that cracks the case is such a rewarding feeling more so than because you definitely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ deserve it. Even though its procedurally generated this game definitely can't be played till the end of time especially once you start to notice the patterns to look for, but if you want a game that demands you to use 100% of your critical thinking skills and you don't mind being told no sometimes and enjoy investigative games, BUY THIS ITS AWESOME. It isn't a perfect game and you will savescum a lot but it will force you to confront your own intelligence and not many games do that in this way, its like a really really good complex puzzle game but the mystery is not easy to solve by flicking a couple levers like in other games, this game does not hold your hand and it makes the satisfaction of finding the correct solution feel amazing because this game genuinely requires a patient and mentally sharp person to not only play this game but enjoy it. So if that is you and you want to test your mind, I can't recommend this game enough I've never played a game as unique and testing on your critical thinking as this one
The devs pretty much abandoned this game because they didn't win the Labor of Love award, which is the exact reason they didn't win. I loved this game so much for its potential but it's so deeply unfinished and buggy, it's an insult to everyone who's supported it to claim it's not still in early access. It's fun for a few hours and no game really captures that dystopian detective setting without a linear narrative, but it doesn't take long before you hit a game breaking bug and have to start over. Just wish it was made by devs who actually gave a ♥♥♥♥
10/10 goty
