About

Peripeteia is a cyberpunk immersive sim set in alternate-history Poland – a first-and-third-person game mixing shooter, stealth and RPG mechanics with an unexplored setting and original ideas.
You are Marie: a cybernetic mercenary in a post-Soviet city full of corruption and opportunity, where nations, factions and ideologies clash. You will use your wits, tact, and raw violent nature to complete tasks shrouded in conspiracy and mystery. Logic, skill and ruthless cunning win the day in an interactive world – but when that fails, a loaded gun and the ability to climb virtually anywhere, will suffice.
Levels so vast they take hours to explore. Every tower, sewer, rooftop and basement is real and reachable. No quest markers. No correct path. If you can see a ledge, Marie can grab it. Forge your own routes with a sabre jammed into a wall or a well-placed crate. Get lost. Find something no one else found. That's the point.
Over 100 weapons – Cold War surplus, prototype rarities, stolen NATO hardware. Every magazine, every bullet, every attachment exists as a physical object in your inventory. Strip enemy weapons for parts. Transfer your gear between missions. Build your stash in Marie's basement. Plan your loadout or improvise when everything goes wrong.
Hack terminals. Possess enemies. Manipulate factions against each other. Sneak through the vents, talk your way past the guards, or come in loud with a stolen PKM. Every mission is a sandbox. Your choices determine who lives, who dies, and whose flag flies over the city.
Marie is living military surplus – powerful but not invincible. Manage your implants, ration your energy, scavenge what you can. The city doesn't care about you. Its factions will use you and discard you.
An unforgettable soundtrack featuring Sewerslvt, Ed Harrison (Neotokyo, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided) and a dozen other amazing artists. Drum and bass, atmospheric ambience, breakcore. Post-Soviet brutalism rendered in the grit of the early 2000s with modern lighting. Rain on concrete. Every second of this city sounds and looks exactly as dark as it should.

An immersive sim for people who think the genre never got the sequel it deserved.

I loved this game until I got upto Reclaimation, that is easily the worst level in any game I have ever played. The rest of the game is amazing but honestly I can't bring myself to play anymore Reclaimation is genuinely that awful.
Well, it was a ride. Very weird, but somehow satisfying. Some online-reviewers in blogs or YT call this game an immersive sim full of variants and approaches. That’s only partially true. The first level (the Arcology) actually delivers: you’re free to sneak, shoot, climb, or talk your way through, checking every filthy corner like a true scav. After that… the game remembers it’s set in a collapsing post-Soviet cyberpunk hell and starts streamlining everything. Freedom dies quietly in a back alley. Absolute cons Can it even be called an immersive sim? With so few NPCs standing around, the world often feels like a brutalist diorama someone forgot to populate. You’re supposed to be in a corrupt, war-torn city full of factions and paranoia, yet half the districts look like they’ve already been evacuated or massacred. Even sewers are more densily populated by more vocal topieleces State-machine and consistency issues NPCs repeat lines and hand over items regardless of your actual progress. Marie sometimes asks questions she has no business knowing, while characters casually spoil quests you haven’t finished. Your choices matter about as much as a zloty in hyperinflation - factions don’t give a ♥♥♥♥. Janky models and physics Marie is nimble and fun to control, but her climbing animations often clip or contort wildly. She’s also charmingly duck-toed. In firefights the physics engine gets drunk and yeets corpses into low Earth orbit. Peak Eastern European ballistics. Ammo scarcity and limited playstyles In a city supposedly ravaged by war, you end up living like a cybernetic hobo, hoarding bullets for your beloved Stechkin, Galil or ASP, while dreaming of the day you can finally spray and pray. Not everyone wants to play ghost with a pistol. Attachments? Mostly locked behind arena or cheat cube. The most kitted gun I had was an AK-clone with PSO, laser, and drum. I felt rich. Did I used it? Only in the last mission, when it was a "go time". Yeah, I remember that Deus Ex-series also was not generous to shootists but, hey, i wanna hold vodka in these augmented jaws, smoke with one hand and push the trigger with another. AI and Exploration Enemy AI is still very weak. Hiding in darkness turns Marie into a ghost who can headshot entire groups. Even elite enemies (like enhanced Polish soldiers) who supposedly have vision and hearing upgrades often just stand like mannequins or bump into walls. The tutorial tells you to explore every nook like a true scav, but later levels remember this is a budget production and cut the useful content. You end up parkour-spamming random elevations hoping to find something that isn’t just more rust and disappointment. The Belgrade (Reclamation) level feels like it was violently ripped from another game. No idea how it fits the plot or why Marie crawled out of there looking like she lost a fight with a meat grinder. Pros Still… it has the vibe. The world drips with bleak, hilarious cynicism. The descriptions and atmosphere are genuinely great - pure post-apocalyptic Eastern European melancholy with a side of absurd kitsch dystopia. Marie is lovable cigarette-and-vodka autistic waifu with raifu. The music works, but some proper maidcore and doomrock would make this place feel even more like a decaying paradise. So, there is a real potential buried under the jank. If the devs fix the emptiness, improve AI, balance the loot economy, and add more side content that actually rewards you for poking the horrors, this could become a proper cult classic. Right now it’s missing a few limbs and, probably, is on a bad trip.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

devs are transphobic
Borrows trans music, creator ♥♥♥♥♥ on trans people and calls them groomers, (and people that like blahaj's, and people that like signalis, and on and on, truly delusional nonsense). Already bad as it can be- but to speak on the actual game itself. The game is aloft only by low lights and gritty atmosphere that is as hollow as their attempt to simulate feelings of vastness. With empty, nonsensical attempts at "Quirky" map flow and layouts that end up being no better than a troll .wad, filled with enemies who's AI coding is fresh off the FPS Creator factory line, which is the nicest way I can put that. Updates have not made it any better, just some europoid trying to make an easy buck by queerbaiting and nostalgiabaiting. Some games have slavjank that I love, the slavjank here would make stalker blush. Truly a pet project from a hateful, college dropout who's aura is purely from a lack of lighting so you can't see the miserable and mspainted (Derogatory) texture work and the music. A story that is as poorly written as it is poorly translated, there are more interesting characters and character development in a meet n' ♥♥♥♥ game. There are better games for free on itch.io, and for half the price.
After 13 hours of cheesing the maps horrible map layouts, abysmal enemy ai, non existent stealth and game breaking bugs i finally call quits on this game after having to completely redo the current final level of the game (outskirts) due to not being able to talk to any npc as they all just start shooting and block me out of the quests for no reason at all. As much as i wanted to enjoy this game due to it's genuinely nice artstyle and vibe, it's just unbearable jank after unbearable jank. It did have some beautiful scenery and rooms tho, especially in the beginning levels. I'll maybe revisit it when it's actually immersive and not just a fight against the bugs.
As of right now this ♥♥♥♥ is busted as ♥♥♥♥. great concepts and the storytelling is pretty good. However, being a highly stylized game doesn't make up for having zero substance and is not worth anyone's time. The AI is really bad but i do like the gunplay. Vaguely reminds me of the original Deus EX(which I am a HUGE fan of). seeing how it is "early access"(whatever the ♥♥♥♥ that means these days) I'm going to keep an eye on it and hopefully have the opportunity to change my review as there is a lot of potential.
The levels are way too big. Obnoxiously big, and obnoxiously empty. why waste time on building so much if you then fill 90% of it with nothing? combat is ok, nothing to really talk about. the story is....incomplete, and trying way too hard to be cryptic and eye divine cybermancy for its own good. The climbing mechanic are great. its an immsim in technicality, but given how unfinished this is and how empty the world is, its not interesting or immersive. 3/10.
This games feels like it’s designed to fit my tastes or something, can't wait for the full release!
Although I played it and absolutely fell in love with it at first, the game borrowing music from a known predator, and the community being the equivalent of an insect breeding ground for chuds upon closer examination completely ruined my opinion of it and I can't continue to support it in good faith. Regardless, if you don't really care about those two problems I mentioned or they are no longer problems by the time you read this then the game itself is fine. Just know who you're supporting when you buy it if it's the former.
