Seafarer? Get ready to spend a lot of time operating a shipping container crane. And the "main quest?" got to the part with the ship on fire and had to franticly run from water cannon to helm and back because the firefighter ship kept moving even though I shut the engines down...and when I did try to steer that ship even the slightest rudder movement sent it spinning. All the while the "crew" of the ship just stands there. If there is any commands or controls to get them to help...the instructions/hints etc... are nowhere to be found. Graphics are beautiful but in the end just not fun and needs a lot of work.
The Career Update really shows the potential of this game. It's come a long way since launch. Now the game has a much more structured way to play if that's what you like (definitely my preference). However there's also quick play where you can custom create your own jobs to do at any time. It's not a super serious sim, more on the arcade side, but the attention to detail is great and the gameplay is so much fun. For an Early Access game, the performance is very impressive as of this writing. I'm running it on all High settings with DLSS at 66% with Framegen and getting solid 60fps. The water physics are awesome!

Every market we collect.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The tutorial was a little brief in getting me to know what I *should* be doing. But after it ended and I chose to do cargo everything was too vauge to give a little guidance as to get my next shipment of cargo..or if Im doing other jobs and I needed to switch pumps for an LNG carrier when loading the cargo, I had to look up the controls on how to do basic tasks. I searched through the game and didn't find anything every time. I'm not feeling like googling a "how to" every time I need to do something new in the game because it does a poor job teaching certain aspects.
Not recommended, controls are terrible.
Yes game has some Bugs but members of the hollow point gaming community are really liking it so far
Way too arcady for my liking, the dialogue is so corny and badly written its painful to listen to. ship controls are in no way shape or form even close to realistic and the overall feel of the game is as if disney released a ship simulator. also if i wanted to load and unload shipping containers id take overtime at my job as a gantry crane operator.

For an Early Access title, Seafarer is genuinely a lot of fun!
Just keep in mind that it's still in active development, so you shouldn't expect a finished experience yet. Personally, I don't mind that docking is just a press of a button (K). Maybe a proper "realistic" mode will get added down the line for people who want to actually pilot the maneuver themselves - that would be a nice bonus feature for those who like it a bit more hands-on. One thing I don't get though: other reviews keep claiming this isn't a sim, just arcade. I really don't see it that way - to me Seafarer feels much more like a relaxed but genuinely atmospheric ship sim, not arcade gameplay. For what's on offer right now, the game is genuinely great. The waves and the atmosphere out on the water are convincing, and you can tell there's steady progress update by update. Looking forward to future patches and features! Recommended: Yes, with the understanding that this is Early Access. 👍
This game was great until they added the career update. What do you mean i have to work all these dumb loading shifts just to get to sailing and in the end only earn a measly 1,700 credits. This game feels like a waste of your life right now. Why would the developers want to change the game to be more realistic if there already is a new ship sim coming out completely focused on realism called Professional Shim Simulator. I worked hard to buy the willy bulk carrier and it was great but when i came back to the game and now I cant even sail that because i don't have enough reputation and I am not going to put up with wasting my life on essentially "cargo loading simulator" I am fed up with this game becoming frustrating and annoying to play. It went form being great and fun you would simply select a job load a few things and SAIL yes actually sail you know sort of the main point of the game. Then you would arrive in port and unload a few things and you'd have your paycheck. They have completely drained the fun out of this game. DO NOT BUY unless you are a hard core sim fan and are willing to play with the shift system.
Another game with potential ruined by devs lack of imagination. No point in buying ships anymore as the trading they added sucks balls. Might as well just do the jobs and use random ships. Fire fighting is a bin fire too. The bigger ships lose money. It all becomes rather tedious really quick. If I was a German I'd be seriously pissed my taxes were wasted on this crap. Save your money and buy something else.
