Take this how you want to, but I like it. Im happy that these games are back in some form or another. Do i wish they would apply patches and updates for smoother play; yes but honestly this the game i played growing up. Search for mother loving Reptar never gets old. Buy it on sale if you want a cheaper price but that little piece of childhood is worth it.
Rugrat's Retro Rewind Collection Has a total of 7 games, the first 3 were on the Play station 1 and are 3d the other 4 were on gameboy and are 2d, ive seen people complain about the visuals of these games but considering that even just search for reptar will put you back $30 the same price as this entire collection on Ebay i cant complain. The most visual noise i would see is black lines and a bit of jank throughout the first 3 3d games, there is a filter but i didnt like it so i didnt bother with it, I think alot of people are so used to modern games they forget that this is what Ps1 used to look like. the other 4 gameboy 2d games have no visual stutters what so ever, to clarify while there is some typical jank for the first 3 3d games it did not interrupt my gameplay what so ever, the pause and save feature is very useful for those tedious mini games such as the golf or Angelica's circus launch chucky poop. the first 3 games consist of mini puzzles and little side levels that you go through in order to complete the game. It was quite fun reliving my childhood and im sure many 90s babies like myself would of at least played and remembered playing one of these. in any case ignore the cry babies over the visual noise, like I said it doesn't effect gameplay what so ever, when your saving your game don't save on the starter menu, if you don't like one game play another there's 6 more if one doesn't tickle your fancy, all in all search up some youtube videos if your uncertain, form your own opinion and don't rely on others to tell you whats good and bad in terms of a game.

I wish Steam had a middle option. Is this a lazy port? Yes it is. The game runs fine for me so I'm not going to ding it for that but..... The thing that bothered me the most is why did they take out the OG ps1 layout. I get that the Xbox controller is more popular but come on. What are we doing? Why not both? Also if this is going to be on PC I should be able to customize the keyboard layout. I was going to give it thumps down but it does run fine for me and it is only $20. Was the games perfect on ps1? Nope, but you guys could of fixed them up to before releasing this. Its getting a 5/10 for me.
It’s fine for what it is, runs fine on steam deck, the camera’s janky in Search for Reptar but that’s always been the case due to it obviously being a game pre analog and no settings to change the camera functionality (as far as I know) besides L2 and R2. Control prompts are incorrect in some places in Search for Reptar but being a simple game it’s not difficult to understand and correct to the actual controls. The audio weirdly speeds up on the golf courses only but honestly this is a non issue as it’ll usually correct itself moments later. Otherwise I’ve had no other real issues with the game collection. It’s still very fun to play. Currently playing through the Rugrats Movie and likely gonna play Studio Tour alongside it. Obviously improvements can and should be made but I find this collection fine for a set of emulated games if you don’t mind a few non game breaking bugs
As soon as I was aware of this, I added this to my wishlist immediately! Growing up, I LIVED on Rugrats in Paris and was the sole purpose for purchasing. Played through the 3 32bit games on here and Paris (whilst looking and controlling the best) just felt far too repetitive and empty (plus the final boss is far too tough). The three 3D games are fine but are definitely of their time. Will be coming back to do the Gameboy games at some point in the near future.
What the ♥♥♥♥ are peoples deal with this game? I literally had a great time with this collection, had no issues except for some slow time but honestly its understandable since some of these are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Playstation 1 games, I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ these are PAL relases of the game that run 5 less fps then the US release, all I'm glad is that I have these titles in my library and that you can pay for them. You mfs really need to stop complaining about so little issues lol
This collection is great for those wanting to go back and experience these old games but, some things to keep in mind: - The games are still CLUNKY, the only real QoL changes come in the form of the save states and the "rewind" feature. - Some of the games are extremely buggy (Studio Tour & Castle Capers being two that immediately come to mind). - As others have suggested, there were times where I had severe drops in framerate which made no sense considering these are extremely old games and I play on a pretty decent PC. As far as the "Pros" go for this collection - really it all banks on the nostalgia. I like the museum and the music player. I like that there are added achievements and nothing is crazy difficult to get. There are 6 games in this collection but, I was wondering why they skipped some of the other titles that came out for certain consoles (as others have mention, Perfectly Angelica is not in this bundle). The voice acting is good, the borders for the games are okay, and it's nice to revisit these old games. would I recommend this collection? Yes and no... Yes if you like these games and wanna revisit your childhood. No if you want something fun to play that runs smoothly.
I loved these games as a kid and still have love from them now. The collection runs fine on my steam deck but on my normal computer cut scenes will start sped up for some reason.
