Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection

Pathetic port. Play the original using Duckstation. Game barely functions, with it speeding up and slowing down all over the place plus the awful, awful input lag, playing the golf minigame was a pain due to the crazy amount of lag and stuttering when trying select shot power, not to mention cutscene audio is messed up completely during these speedups and slowdowns. An absolutely AWFUL port, really guys? it's a couple of PS1 roms we're talking about here, do better in the future. Do not buy in its current state. Refunded after less than 30 minutes of play.

Now, I love Rugrats. I grew up with the show and being blasted with news that the Rugrats games got ported to PC and modern consoles was such a treat. But unfortunately, with the way the collection is now, I can't in good conscience recommend it. I can forgive the clunky gameplay since the gameplay always was clunky with these old Rugrats titles and if they somehow managed to change it too much, well they might as well just remake it at that point. Though I wish they refined the camera atleast. What I cannot forgive is its framerate and audio issues. The framerate frequently drops (even though my computer is insistent that its going at a crisp 60fps) and the audio frequently either gets crunchy, delayed, or just disappears altogether. I use a Windows 10 Alienware gaming laptop. These are all games from the PS1 and Gameboy Color. There is no excuse possible for me to be having these issues. It is also too loud with no way to turn it down in gameplay. You have to quit the game to do that. I appreciate the CRT filter though. Hopefully sometime soon they will fix the issues the collection has and I can change my review. Until then though, you're better off either emulating the game or looking for copies of the original Rugrats games.

Pretty fun but I would wait for a sale.

I was so hyped when I saw this was coming out and bought it immediately when it went live! I thought that playing the game on PC would be a better experience than the original controls of the PS1 (Search for Reptar specifically). Pros: It's bright and shiny and the rewind feature is actually super helpful in avoiding any game-breaking bugs (like the golf balls getting stuck in the terrain and locking you out of progress, which happened twice in my playthrough). You only get 10 seconds though, so if you come across a problem, you've got to be QUICK on the draw to get out of it. Cons: Unfortunately there's not only no re-mapping of keyboard and mouse controls, but they are also unlisted on the game itself and listed incorrectly online. It's definitely a controller-only experience, which is understandable I guess, but for myself who still owns my original copy and a PS1 to play it on, this port failed to do what I actually wanted to buy THIS version for. If they update the game to include re-mapping of controls, I would probably pick it up again,

I can see why many people think negatively about this port, but I enjoyed the small time of getting my nostalgia fix from a TV show that was solid from the 90s and the games I owned physically on the Playstation. If you enjoyed the Rugrats and don't mind the ol' clunkiness of it then I say this is a retro collection that's wroth especially if it's on sale.

As happy as I am to see these games return, I can't recommend this collection on PC in it's current state. I haven't tried the Game Boy games, I'm sure they run fine. The PS1 games run fine too, but with issues that may or may not matter to some. The main problem I have is with the audio quality, it sounds "tinny". There is also a glitch that causes the first couple seconds of a cutscene in Search for Reptar to be sped up. I don't think this is an issue on console though. If these issues are fixed, I would happily recommend the collection Also, not a deal breaker by any means, but it would be nice to have the option to clean up the visuals with an upscale option.

нормально в таком виде играть в эти игры и щас ,даже можно что и пройти до конца из этих 7 игр в этом сборнике, и вердикт мой 6 из 10 так себе игры из конца 90 годов, и 700 рублей этот сборник точно не стоить, по 100 рублей за одну игру всё честно .

I really enjoy this because of nostalgia. i dont think most people who play the ps1 games will enjoy them today because the controls arent great and this isnt a remaster or remake for any of them. each of the games are straight ports, so any issues the og had this has.
