Roots of Pacha

A fabulous entry in the farming/life sim category! There's so many interesting and innovative gameplay elements. The fact that you have to evolve agriculture techniques and use them to domesticate the plants means the farming never gets old and doesn't feel super repetitive. Domesticating animals is similarly rewarding. The world lore is so rich and engaging! You'll get to learn so many stories and the unique history of the tribes. I really enjoyed them. The characters are all so charming! There's quite a variety of characters and they don't feel like typical archetypes. They have their own personalities and each tribe has it's own cultural identity. It was really fun getting to know everyone! I had no issues getting into a nice rhythm of gameplay and the controls have been easy to use. Overall, I definitely recommend trying this! I had fun the whole time I was playing and logged SO many hours!

I'll shoot ya straight and try not to take you from behind. It's chill, it's alright—nothing sets it apart from other Stardew Valley rip-offs. If you dig that vein, you'll probably like it. Grindy in a not so good way, super repetitive early on... just the same actions which you become better at over time. Wasn't a fan of the character customization, kind of simple, not a lot of base character features that looked attractive to me.... not that I was coming to this game to get turned on.... or was I.... Basically Stardew Valley without the charm, and most the NPCs look like liberal vegans who can't wait to correct your politically incorrect behavior. They don't have that behavior, but they look like they should XD. Why recommend? Perfect for popping in an hour while watching podcasts I'm too ADHD for, or downtime at work. Still tons to unlock, half my playtime's the game paused while I do other things. Story/scripting's barely above mediocre but there's just nothing here I'm in love with. The NPCs are like wandering mannequins personality-wise. If devs read this trash-talk, please don't misunderstand. I like it like how I like oatmeal. I don't hate oatmeal, but I don't wake up thinking, "Oh boy I can't wait to go eat me some oatmeal!" I'm just saying it misses that special something that makes it truly stand out from the rest of the stardew valley clones for me personally. Suggestion: This game has a real shot at digging into tribalism, instead it's this all-inclusive world peace b.s. that's too afraid of offending someone by leaving them out or something. It's too sterile, safe, and that doesn't get me hard in the morning. I mean you can have all your seperate races and then there's that opportunity of uniting them, and man some real NPC romance story potential and drama and some action that would make this game feel less like a sandbox with a checklist of things to get done. The animal collecting is cool, but again, Just feels like it's missing something. I do appreciate being able to ride mounts right off the bat BUT they're really slow, however I do see opportunity to upgrade their speed and other attributes so perhaps this one does hit the mark later on. Promise I'm not just another entitled c^^t out to destroy something. Game's got some good bones. I just want it furnished a bit more to turn it into a real classic and not just another Stardew valley clone for gamers like me to get their fix as they wait for the next amazing game to come out. For now it's a 6/10 for me, but a content 6/10. I give you, THE THUMB. Get it on sale and you probably won't regret it.
